Giant Eagle and Winter wolf they can understand languages but not speak them so they dont have a language
Actually Giant Eagles do have and speak their own language. MM p. 324 (Appendix A: Miscellaneous creatures).
"A giant eagle is a noble creature that speaks its own language and understands speech in the Common tongue."
Also Winter Wolves as well. MM p. 341. Their language is based on growls and barks. They also speak Common and Giant well enough to follow simple conversations.
Really Exited, I've been following the beta since it started!
Don't get me wrong, I love D&DBeyond but my main concern is that I don't want to pay again for books I already have and the most worrisome thing is the subscription, hope it won't reach stupid and unnecessary amounts.
Still love that we're finally in Phase 2 & 3! Can't wait for the launch :D
I just gave the builder a try, and the first flaw I found was that the tabs seem to get cut off on the desktop version, making a lot of the options unreadable. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who noticed this, or if it has something to do with my desktop, but it was a bit concerning. I also feel it would be nicer if there was a more clearly defined way to level up a character instantly, like a button to automatically raise the level of characters for a faster character building system. Other than that, this builder is great!
When this goes into full release, How will the payment method work. Is this like you purchase the PHB and you get access to the info in the PHB. What if you already own the 5e PHB will there be a way to get access at a discount or something?

It will be possible to purchase the PHB in digital format or you can do a subscription and share the PHB within a gaming group (Master Tier). About the discount nothing has been said, as far as I remember.

Not to sound like a jerk, but if you bought The Lion King on VHS, then again when it was released for DVD did you get a discount because you already owned a version? It's a new format, that takes time to develop and create, even if it is the same material, and people don't work for free. I do get the point though that the sub could add up, I hope that the sub is for some features, and the access to data/books is a flat cost for each (rather than a if you pay $5 from now until forever you have access, but if you stop you don't).
Created several characters just for testing, added my current Dead in Thay campaign with several notes. Everything seems cool right now.
If D&D Beyond will provide an integration with Fantasy Grounds I will definitely pay for a subscription.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
Are you guys planning on putting Backgrounds in the homebrew area and allowing it to be put in character sheets?
Backgrounds will be available to homebrew. We are also going to allow "on the fly" custom backgrounds in the builder that allows you to choose any two skills, any two languages or tool proficiencies, and any background feature, as per the rules in the PHB.
That seems kind of a shame. This feels like the best place ever to do playtesting. A lot of people would snag UA content and play it if it were available, and give feedback, I bet, pretty quickly.

5 Dollars a Month okay maybe if even but else I can just not bear it because there are free versions who are not as good but you can use them :/

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!
Hey, just wondering if/when we will be able to access unearthed arcana options in the character builder?

Is an app still coming, or are you relying on a web interface?
I use summon instrument to summon my kettle drum, hold it overhead like Donkey Kong, and chuck it at the nearest kobold.
To clarify - the native mobile apps will be after the launch of the site this Summer.

When they say they are launching this summer, does that mean they'll launch the last day of the summer?

Hi Ungragh,
It has been confirmed that you will be able to incorporate WotC playest material on D&D Beyond (source).
Details will be shared after launch.
