I'm willing to spend $500 so that me and my players can use this, but it has to be in app form for it to be used effectively. We really need that offline capability.
It would be great to export characters into other people accounts (providing you have a Master subscription at least of course).
Yeah, I've asked about the possibility of importing and exporting characters, but unfortunately it seems that there hasn't been yet any announcement about importing characters.

I've only seen this generically requested, but without much detail (although I could have missed it). Since all the accounts have a limited number of characters, it would be nice to be able to export a character, delete it, and then reimport it when we have space again. You know, for those moments in which we're full of character(s).

Actually if you sub you have unlimited characters. Only the free accounts are limited to 6 characters to the account.
Game Master 5 allows me to plug monsters into a campaign. I'm a Master level subscriber in dnd beyond as of today, and am trying to create a campaign. But, I see no way to plug in my PC's or the monsters they will face into encounters like the simple GM 5 program I have on my iPad! Am I missing something?
The "campaign" button here takes you to a screen that allows you to enter public an private DM notes, but not plug in monsters or even separate out encounters in the campaign. It is useless.
This is NOT awesome. I already bought the print books and now will have to re-buy them (though at a nice price) to be able to use them inside of dnd beyond. Rip off if you ask me.
Also, the campaign section is very deficient. Can't separate out encounters, so your campaign is a long scroll of typed out descriptions. Game Master 5 app for my iPad is much better than this. Can I get my 55 bucks back???

I'm not trying to sound condescending here, but you should probably do a little more research into the product you're purchasing before deciding to spend the money.
It's pretty clear what DDB does and doesn't do at this point.

An encounter builder is one of the many features in the works that will be added to DDB.
@chrisgeorgev In short? No. It is not clear. I've been reading the site for half an hour and the only thing that's clear is that there are a lot of folks confused or upset and a lot of useless posts like yours that are not only unhelpful, but serve to accuse the buyer of some wrong doing.
They are charging a premium for a service that is incomplete and available for free elsewhere. It's shameful and anyone posting as you did, should be ashamed for being such the schill. Just disgusting.

30 minutes and you can't find anything?
Want a subscription, here's the handy SUBSCRIPTION page with all the information about what you're buying:
How is this not clear? You have more questions? Great, they offer a forum containing hundreds of posts about how DDB works and others with people asking specific questions about what features it has and which features are coming. I was replying to the poster who was upset that DDB didn't do what GameMaster 5 does. What would lead him/her to believe that these features are in DDB? Instead of spending the money and then complaining that it's not what you expected, why not get that information first and then decide if you want to spend the money?
Oh, and btw, can you please point me to these free, legal, resources you're talking about, where I can get non SRD digital content for official D&D products?
Hero Tier subscriptions no longer affect the content sharing for the Master Tier since we have drastically opened up its sharing capability (i.e. up to 36 people could share content with one subscription).
This is amazing.
I'm D&D Beyond Master subscribed and have a LMOP campaign. My no subscription campaign player can now share his PH in the campaign for all of the players in our group.
I still think you're missing a trick by not offering a higher priced subscription that includes all core content. I'd gladly pay $10 a month to be able to make characters for my players using any core content. The 4e digital tools had the perfect format.

I would second that idea. I also liked 4e DT access. Kind of like Spotify for D&D. Dungeonify!

I really want offline capability, so I will wait for the iOS app, Im contacting my players so we can settle on a subscription tier!

Yes, off-line capability is an important feature. I also strongly hope that it won't be limited only to mobile devices.

That's awesome! I love that anyone can unlock content for the group to have access to. It makes it much more economically viable.

You're totally right. My mistake.

Any new details on when the iOS app releases? Or can anyone direct me to the page that details this? Thanks
