"Well it depends on the work, I'm getting restless at home and could use some new adventures. Aye I made these myself, as you can see from my signet on here, I make everything myself" Magron answers proudly, pointing at the big signet at the front of his armor.
"I did indeed notice the others with a staff, that almost shouts magic, and I don't think I've seen any of you or the others here before I think, am I correct in assuming you're from out of town?"

"...dank clock...." ".....slaying with the broom..." Maerwyn seems frustrated with the information she had picked up, most of the words have been muffled by the background cheers, laughters and noises! With a thud, she takes a seat near the corner and speaks up when she watches the waitress pacing towards her, "Excuse me! I'd like to order a glass of Long Islands Iced Tea, non-alcoholic, please?"
She doesn't feel like taking multiple shots of alcohol, who knows what kind of gibberish she might pick up under the heavy influence of a drink. She has been looking for potential partners for adventure (or for crime?), it would be a shame if she fails to do so or worse! She feels chilling sensation at the final thought.
Maerwyn has been moving around the tables and chairs scattered around the compound, her dark sacramento robe trailing behind her like a living shadow when the tip of the perky pair of ears can be seen behind the high collar. She abruptly stands before the door that might hide the staircase leading upwards, tapping her heels on the floor and crossing her arms before her torso she is seen observing it with curiosity.
Someone may assume that she's just another lady undecided on the matter of sitting arrangement or the quality of service, but she's no ordinary woman! Indeed, it requires a great amount of patience and pretense to eavesdrop on a bunch of strangers, the high pitched tune of Bardic instruments offers no advantage at all.
Distant sound of conversation is heard, when she attempts to find out what's being asked to the waitress and how she responds to the inquiries of the cloaked customer. Aha! Let's see if we can find out something about the dark cloaked figure!

Grom looked upon the Looking for Work sign with some relief. Oh, good. They aren't the ones. The kind of person he was looking for had great power, and could go toe to toe with the greatest evils. They were the greatest at their chosen vocation. Certainly people like that would not be trying to pick up a few gold coins in a tavern like common mercenaries. Some of their gear seemed quite good, but he doubted their capabilities.
He leaned back and shifted his attention to mysterious stranger with the blindfold. Somehow Grom doubted he was in any way inconvenienced by the thing. That was interesting, in itself.
"That would probably be the best one to start with," Dusk responds as he finishes the last bite of food and last swig of water. Muggles had finished too and happily returned to his usual perch upon Dusk's shoulders. The illusion of the notice fading away - its purpose served. Standing up, he smiled and gave a little nod to Magron, a silent suggestion for him to take the lead. Dusk was not the type to approach others, at least not alone. Prolonged conversations weren't really his thing. He much preferred books and animals to people.
He looked to the human mage again that they were going to. No matter how much he looked there was nothing to really indicate what type of mage. Without the staff he would be just a human man in ordinary clothes. The stereotype being fine clothes for sorcerers and robes for wizards. A false stereotype, of course, and he would know, being a wizard yet also dressed like any ordinary person. His clothes were common and drab. The only detail that would belie the commonality of such choice in attire was the condition. The clothes were immaculately clean and in excellent condition - the benefits of some minor magic. So one should never make assumptions of another's true capabilities by appearance alone, or even by the minor deeds like dining out in a tavern - such assumptions were the trappings of a limited mind. The moral of these musings being to heed caution when approaching suspected mages - for one can never truly ascertain at a glance the nature or limits of their power.
(Just to be clear, we are walking up to nschrock's Character)
Magron nods back at Dusk, and leads the way. Walking over to the human, knowing that he sees us coming.
"Ah my dear sir, me and my newly acquired acquaintance here couldn't help but notice your staff, and where wondering if you were also here with similar interests? My name is Magron, I live closeby, and don't think I've ever seen you here; is that correct?"

OOC: OK, I'm going to take a few liberties here to just get things moving a bit. If this isn't OK, let me know and we can retcon.
As they approached the human mage, the man ignored them, got up and walked out of the tavern. Before they could comment a waitress came to them with a piece of paper, which Dusk took and read. It read, 'Do you see the man with a blindfold but lacking any ears?'
"From whom did you receive this?" Dusk enquired, and the waitress pointed to an Elf woman. He thanked the waitress and passed the note to Magron.
"We should meet this Elf woman," he mentioned to Magron. The disrespect from the human mage urging Dusk to be more assertive this time, he took lead and made his way to the elf woman. He smiled as best he could.
"We got your note," Dusk stated, discretely, to the Elf woman. "I have noticed this man and his blindfold but had not noticed a lack of ears. I would doubt any man so impaired would be left unattended here, so I must assume he has more senses than he would have us believe. That makes him interesting. I propose that we greet this man. My name is Dusk, my new acquaintance in the armor with the metal badger is Magron. Can you provide us your name, and we could then go talk to this blindfolded and earless man, and see the truth of the matter?"
This would either end in an opportunity or a scuffle. Either would be amusing, at this point, although he disliked the effort either would require. Still, no chance of coin to be earned if he sat and did nothing.

Aye, this is why I said I was taking liberties. Maerwyn wrote the note and asked the waitress to pass it to Magron and Dusk - making an easy and direct reference, although not by name. The waitress replied "who" and InkedBee has interpreted this as the waitress reading the note and chastised her for it, but is still waiting and expecting the waitress to pass the note along. Yet the waitress has said "okay" and then did nothing.
Ikarbino is making a deliberate choice for their character to actively ignore all the other characters except the cloaked figure NPC but has not made any move toward them.
Dusk did ask the barkeep directly for any leads on work - and got ignored.
So, if the barkeep is ignoring requests for work, the waitress is not passing the note, most characters aren't interacting with each other - with one blatantly refusing to do so, and no indication of a reason to proceed (because cloaked figures in bars are common and unless you're a criminal or something then usually you avoid those people) -- we're at a standstill at how to actually bring our characters together in a reasonable narrative-friendly way. Or at least that is how it appears to me. If I have overlooked something, I apologise.
The note thing seemed to be a great way to get some of our characters together and able to move forward, and just figured if we could just have the note get to us so we can proceed that would solve everything. It seems I overstepped, and I am sorry. But this leaves me baffled then how to actually move forward in a way that is going to bring everyone's characters together.
What would be the best way to do this (asking everyone)? Do we just say all our characters converge at this cloaked man and meet there, however out-of-character it would seem for anyone to just do that? It seems like we've all been reluctant, so far, for character reasons, but at this point it seems nothing's gonna happen unless we metagame a little and force this meetup directly, since the NPC routes (waitress/barkeep) are not working?
