Yulmiath pushes forward towards the Dimetrodons, although only to O,8. His talents might be more physical but he isn't stupid; he isn't putting himself in the way of these creatures unless there isn't any other choice and only if these other bozos are doing the same.
Making himself appear as big as he can, he emits a gutteral howl hoping it might be enough to dissuade the huge lizards for mistaking him for lunch.
A flash of inspiration hits Yulmiath as he attempts to scare off the Dimetrodons. Waving his arms with purpose, he takes a sharp breath and releases some of his pent up rage in a second, visceral growl.
(OOC Forgot about bardic inspiration, so there's 3 to add to his previous check.)
(@Lerus: knew I forgot something. Thank you for picking up the slack on initiative. x.x)
As soon as the creatures showed their true colors, Hun ducked even further behind Yulmarith's legs, and started fussing with his satchel. But though his first thoughts are to go on the offense in return, an unwavering faith in Yulmarith lead to the little kobold uttering a command in draconic and pressing one of the metal plates seemingly stapled onto the bag for no reason.
"Stand still if you would for just a moment, Mr. Yully." Hun request just as a tiny hand made from all kinds of metal junk shoots out, taps Yulmarith discharging some sort of energy, and then retracts back into the bag in seconds. For a while after, the dragonborn would feel a tingling sensation throughout his body, as well as a small well spring of strength and focus that he could draw upon at any moment.
His work done however, Hun quickly scrambled up some nearby rocks in hopes of further getting himself out of harms way.
Action: Cast Guidance on Yulmarith from Bag of Holding infusion.
(OOC Yul will take everything he can get to make himself seem more intimidating to the Dimetrodons! For artificer flavour it could be that he's inspired to let some tiny motes of fire escape his maw, not enough that he's setting a fire or using his fire breath, but enough to give the impression he's working up to it? Or Hun could be creating sparks of light behind him from a tiny contraption of his own design. Either way, here's 1 to add to the check.)
Seeing that there is no apparent de-escalation likely to occur, Krodhen reverses direction, pulling a small scrap of parchment containing a line or two of script and muttering a small prayer as he pushes past Yul to occupy O9 (is this high ground if approached from the east?) and stands at the ready, sword banging against his shield a couple of times before holding it aloft, ready to strike at the first creature stupid enough to attack them
Bonus Action: Shield of Faith cast on Yul as he pushes past him
Action: Held Attack if approached by one of the creatures: Longsword Attack: 24 Damage: 8 and will burn his other spell slot to Divinely Smite as well if it hits, adding 9 radiant damage to the attack as the sword flashes unnaturally bright in the daylight.
(@Blue: No worries. This warning seems to pop up without any reason every now and then. His cittern already in hand, Kairus tries to sooth the reptiles back into their resting stance. The calming melody seems to contrast starkly with the urgency of the situation, but the bard has his reasons. Soon enough, one of the dimetrodons begins to slow down and close its eyes. The one that is still in the water resumes its floating position and becomes almost fully submerged a moment later {J-15}. It seems to be taking a nap.
Still playing his little song, Kairus dedicates its last few notes to Yulmiath(Bardic Inspiration) and retreats to a safer spot.
Hun decides now is a good time to reveal his first trick and produces a mechanical hand out of one of his mysterious bags. Perhaps even more bizarrely, the metal fingers seems to provide Yulmiath, their target, with a renewed sense of purpose.
The kobold then promptly joins Kairus in his relatively safer spot.
No longer backtracking, Yulmiath steps toward the animals barring the group's path. He feels inspired by the song and encouraged by his kobold fan club of one. He makes himself look as big as he can, initiates some small flames on his nostrils, and lets out a guttural howl. Despite being fairly satisfied with himself, the fearsomeness of his performance is lost on the reptiles.
(@MB: I rolled a WIS save for the closest enemy with a DC equal to your roll plus bonuses. Feel free to take a peek in the DM's Screen spoiler above...)
(@MuggsHill: Krodhen would be standing on a little mound of sand. I am not sure what non-meme benefit this might bring when it comes to having the high-ground.)
Worrying that the group is running out of options for non-violent conflict resolution, Krodhen inspires the dragonborn in his own fashion by reading an incantation from a small piece of parchment. Yulmiath is suddenly surrounded by a faint but noticeable luminous sheen.
Krodhen then moves past the dragonborn and takes the vanguard. He holds back his attack, but only as long as the dimetrodons hold theirs.
"I guess that ain't exactly their mug o' ale... Panellus." Rhogal says as he taps his quarter staff on the ground twice, covering it in green, glowing lateral lines.
He also mutters, "Amethystina..." As purple spores form around the dinosaurs (square area from J-13 to M-17).
As other have done, Rhogal also prepares for a fight without actually engaging in one just yet. First, the druid makes sure his weapon of choice is suitably powered up. Then, he illuminates his potential targets.
The relatively slow reptiles cannot avoid the purple spores, though they recognize them as a threat. Their attack is now imminent.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Interspecies communication has failed. The party has only managed to convince the dimetrodons that they are a threat and that the reptiles' only choice is to fight for their survival. The two dimetrodons who are awake advance toward the closest target, but Krodhen is ready.
-> Krodhen's second attack roll due to advantage from Faerie Fire:19 (Never mind, I now see you already rolled it.)
The half orc delivers the first blow of the encounter, sourcing some of Tyr's power through his weapon. By a miracle from its own deity (probably) the dimetrodon does not go down. (Dimetrodon#3 takes 17 slashing and radiant damage.)
One of the attackers cannot get past the half-orc's chain mail, the other does. As the pain climbs the paladin's arm, he can't help but let go of his protective spell. (Krodhen takes 10 piercing damage.)
"Looks like they've chose death, Mr. Yully. Best we send them on their way, yes?" Hun suggests in a question, despite seeing Khroden was well ahead of the curve. Just as Hun is figuring he might join in after fashion, seeing Kwilgek struggle to calm his own beast, the Kobold fingers dance in the air as some quick calculations are run upon some imaginary board. With a scowl, the Kobold scampers down the rock and over to Kwil, granting him the same bolstering charge of energy, least the group find themselves accidently pinned between a far large beast and some crocodiles whose spine decide it wanted to be a fin.
"Might be best to show your beast away from here, ya?" Hun suggests to Kwilgok. "Preferably back the way we came too."
Yulmiath grunts in agreement with the Kobold's words. The beasts have made their choice despite the best efforts of the party to scare them off.
Taking his great axe in both hands, his fingers slide effortlessly towards their usual positions on the weapon's haft. He swings for the head of the creature at N,9.
"A pity," with genuine regret in his voice said Kairus, "but can we keep the last one? Never had a pet dinosaur before."
He looked at the remaining two active not-pets-yet, sighted and played on his instrument something sounding unpleasant and rough as if the cittern was cursing at the scene.
Bane on two active dinosaurs (Save Charisma 15, but rolled with disadvantage for the instrument).
The tune died out and the next few accords were the same heroic uplifting music Yulmiath heard before, sounding pretty much like the real words, something along the line "You can do it, you know you can!"
Grunting in pain as the beast's bite crushes into his shoulder he feels the divine connection drop, but pushes that feeling aside to focus on defending himself and those around him, thrusting out from behind his shield at the creature he has already struck, hoping to put it down, a little remorse attached to his attack, knowing that they should have avoided the encounter. "Be merciful and slay them quickly, this is not their fault"

Regretting that the encounter has descended into a fight, Kairus opts to pile on the enchantments on the creatures. His morbid song seems to affect one of the two charging dimetrodons, causing it to shake its head from side to side.
Trusting the large dragonborn to finish the fight, Kairus sends him another set of inspiring notes. (Yulmiath has another Bardic Inspiration d6.)
Hun encourages Yulmiath to go on the offensive as well, albeit only verbally. The kobold then moves closer to the group's tortle guide and lends him a hand. The magical assistance comes alongside some advice, which Kwilgok is eager to take once he calms his beast down.
Yulmiath sighs in agreement with his enablers and swings his sharpened axe at the closest dimetrodon, which is also the injured one. It is best to put the creature out of its misery quickly. Bloods spurts in all directions, hitting not only Yulmiath and Krodhen, but also the other dimetrodon. (Dimetrodon#3 takes 12 slashing damage and is DEFEATED.)
