The tunnel is long and the ceiling is low, both circumstances making for a miserable experience. After an hour of such travel, a magnificent sight appears before your eyes upon your exit of the tunnel.
A massive gate, fully fifty feet tall and twenty wide, wrought extraordinarily of iron and gilded with gold stands before your eyes. It is set into the back wall of a medium-sized cavern, and two caves inset with iron bars rest to either side of the gate, another fifty feet up. For the first time since you met him, possibly in his life, Dwinkle is speechless. A single tear rolls down his cheek and into his trimmed yellow beard.
"Bhailenteine" He finally whispers. "The City of Refuge"
Adoy looks up at the caves and says, "Well we came all this way I may as well at least have a look."
Adoy uses his Wild Shape ability to turn into an ordinary spider. He will then climb up the wall and peek into one of the caves, the one on the right side of the door.
Adoy dose this as stealthily as possible. Stealth: 14
The room is sparesly furnished with a rotten desk, missing a leg and tipped to one side, as well as a moldy mattress and the remins of two chairs. Some rusted weapons hang from racks on the walls.
If there is noting significantly different Adoy will change back to his normal shape, tie his 50ft of hempen rope to either the torch bracket or iron bars which ever seems sturdier, and drop the other end down to the group.
"There are doors up there, rusted shut, I could not get through as a spider. I think Mr. Dwinkle is right, they looked like guard posts to me." Adoy responds to Kathleen's question.
Once again, a quick reference: There is a large iron gate, 50 feet high. To either side of it, and also 50 feet up, are iron-barred caverns. Adoy has just explored one, and his rope now hangs from it.

Maybe Adoy can change into a cat or a snake or something and slip between the bars?
That was the idea when I was looking for holes. Forgot about the caves.
If I understand correctly the barred caves are 50ft above us. Correct?
"Tell me Mr. Dwinkle, do you have any idea where those openings may lead?" Adoy indicates the barred caves.
"No clue. They appear to me to be guardhouses, of a sort."

Gris scratches his head "maybe we should try the other tunnel. You know, near the entrance"

Are there any exits besides the way Adoy entered? a door or hatch? Anything that looks like a mechanism, a lever switch button or anything like that?
Perception: 3
There is a small door in the back wall, with torch brackets to either side. It is about six feet high, obviously not designed with humans in mind.

Adoy will climb over to the other cave and take a look.

If there is noting significantly different Adoy will change back to his normal shape, tie his 50ft of hempen rope to either the torch bracket or iron bars which ever seems sturdier, and drop the other end down to the group.
The door is rusted and tightly sealed, making it impossible for a spider to find a way past it.
Adoy then safefly makes his way back to the group.

Kathleen greets Adoy with a happy smile and says, "Welcome back! Did find a way in?"
"There are doors up there, rusted shut, I could not get through as a spider. I think Mr. Dwinkle is right, they looked like guard posts to me." Adoy responds to Kathleen's question.
Gris would like to check ground around and gate. As there any signs it was used recently
Perception: 11
The ground is devoid of tracks, and covered in a thin, unmarred layer of grime.

"Did you try the gate up there?" Kathleen points to the iron bars that is 50ft above.
