Adoy is very nervous being on town and is trying his best to stay hidden between Gris and Ayoola, and not to get lost in what he perceives as a massive throng of people. He perks up a little at the mention of mystery.
"You're Mr.Orc from the tavern, aren't you? I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Kathleen Burns but my friends call me Kathleen." She extends a friendly handshake.
Ghorbash
Ghorbash looks at Kathleen’s hand and smiles. “I’m Ghorbash. You are brave. I like that.” Looking from Kathleen to the temple, he is awed at the structure. “This place is holy to the God of the sea. It is good to give thanks.”
Gris to Tom "Ya think that we will visit first the temple and rest a little. If ya will be nice and show us the mystery tomorrow?"
"Ah, of course! Ye must be shewn the temple!"
Inside the magnificent temple you see a strange transaction taking place. A Triton dressed in the robes of a high priest is whispering to a shady-looking human man. As you watch, he slips a small pouch into the man's hands. Then he strides back to the altar which lies in the center of the room, smiling kindly at you as he passes.
Ennis continues to help Marigold in the hostel's kitchen, preparing the evening meal for both her family and any guests that are staying for the night, so it's a lot of work.
It is hard but rewarding work, and half an hour later you finish the task. Just as you are sitting back to take a well-earned rest, you hear the door to the inn slam open and in strides a man in gaudy traveling clothes, who orders a large ale.
After a moment to take in the new arrival, Ennis glances at Marigold to see the concerned look on her face as she's in the middle of pulling the steaming haddock out of the oven. He gives her a reassuring smile and a nod before turning back to the newcomer and walking towards him.
"Good sir, I'm afraid you might be a bit lost," he says calmly with a friendly smile. "The Respite's a hostel, not a tavern. You can get a bed here, and even a fine meal if your timing's good, but I'm afraid they don't just serve ale to anyone who walks through the door. If that's all you're looking for, I can direct you to a more suitable establishment if you need."

The man does not glance your way as he walks out the open doors of the temple. He has a wild mane of black hair and has not shaved in several days. You notice he carries several long knives.

He takes a long look at you before nodding and turning to Marigold.
"My good lady, I was unaware this was a hostel. If you could be so kind as to include me in your meal, however, you would be well paid. I have a long road back to Riverwatch, and would like one more good meal before I go."
Ennis watches as Marigold's face brightens with a smile and she gladly agrees to include the newcomer at the table. (She tends to prepare a bit extra for the evening meals, for just such an occasion as this.)
"Will you be needing a bed for the night as well, good sir?"
JJ, if you don't mind at all, I think I like the idea of controlling Marigold and her family as NPCs. It gives Ennis, and the other party members if they decide to come here, some people to interact with if you're not around. They mostly just keep to themselves and run the hostel, so there wouldn't be too much interaction between them and whatever plot/story you have in mind, unless you wanted there to be some. Do you think that would be acceptable? If not I'd be happy to leave them to you.

"No thank you ma'am, I will be heading for Riverwatch shortly."
"Well, alright then. We'll be pleased with your company for as long as you offer it." She offers his another smile and motions towards the massive dining table. (Seats 18, eight to each long side and one at each end, hand-carved of fine oak.) "Just go ahead and take a seat, and we'll have everything ready in a few minutes." Then she turns towards what appears to be a back room and calls out, "Rosie, Matti, come out and set the table please, dears!"
Moments later, two halfling children emerge from the back door. The elder looks to be in her teen years, fully the same height as her mother if not an inch or two taller, and strikingly similar in appearance. The younger looks to be no more than ten, standing just over a foot and a half tall with a tousled mop of sandy brown hair, but he has a smile on his face as he eagerly helps his big sister begin retrieving tableware from the various cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. As the two of them set about their assigned chore, Marigold turns her attention back to Ennis.
"Ennis, dear, would you mind heading upstairs to let anyone up there that dinner will be served in five minutes?"
"As you wish, Mrs. Mari," Ennis responds with a nod.
He quickly makes his way upstairs to pass along the word to his fellow guests, who are fairly few in number at this time, before coming back downstairs himself.

OOC: Gris cover will last for about 20- 30min
Gris left hidden Adoy and decided to greet shady human
"G'day mister. Have a safe travel. The weather is quite bad so one can easly get wet"
OOC: Gris plan for this visit in the temple is: find a cleric and asks if some strange dissaperance took place in previous months.
If cleric would look trustworthy then Gris will ask if they can set up a camp in gardens near the temple
if yes then Gris will tell him/her whole story and drop the cover
if not he will leave the temple and look for place to camp.
Adoy Relaxes a little, but stays generally out of the way trying not to be noticed, but actively observing the interaction between Gris and the Shady man.

Adoy Stays out of the Shady man's view, and quietly whispers to Ayoola,
"I am not accustom to such places as this, but this man and his interaction with that priest seem out of place to me. Am I mistaken?"
Ayoola shrugs. "Probably, maybe... or he just paid some debt owed to the priest, for helping him in a time of need."
She then approaches the priest. "Good day, sir. I wish to make an offering to the deity of this temple."
OOC: If he accepts, she will give him 2 gold.

Once inside the temple, she looks around. She sees Gris talking to a shady looking man.

She approaches the priest and says, "Sir, I would like to make an offering. (15 silver)"
The priest gladly accepts both offers.
"Y-y-yes, th-thank you s-s-so very much. We are in ne-need of f-f-finances"
He has a marked stutter and is missing one leg.
