Phil looks down at his field notes, thoroughly downtrodden at his failed efforts to convert a halforc to the wonderful world of literacy.
"L-L-Like I said, I'm here to investigate the uncovered tomb and any supernatural happenings for a organization called the Emerald Enclave. Basically think of them as world wide tribe of druids that try to help with any dangerous natural events like Earthquakes, Wildfires, and um... other things" Phil finishes weakly.
"I don't have the right tool set to help with Earthquake relief efforts, all the other Satyr's in my herd got to study the circle of the Land's teaching, but our creator, the nature spirit Pan, decided I needed to study the circle of the Moon to be a 'Protector of the Herd'. Then he disappeared, and the herd broke up anyways, leaving me with a combat tool set and no herd to protect. Makes me near useless for everything the Emerald Enclave assigns me to do, this is actually my first serious assignment that the Enclave has assignment me in the last 70 years, so I'm definitely going to try my best!" He declares, a shining desire to prove himself twinkling in his eyes.
Judas rolls his cigar from one side of his mouth to the other, and flashes a toothy grin (rotten toothy...) at Varth.
To Varth: “Voodoo very old magic - possibly one of the oldest forms of all time. It's often referred to as vodou or voudoun....Voodoo worships the loa, which are literally spirits - like ghosts - but much more powerful. I once summoned an loa, an dat nasty boy shook me down to my bones. You treat them right and they'll always speak true. But watch it, iffin you not careful, wooo-weeee, they make your world a jumble tumble!"
Walking down the road Ugg continued to look around still trying to determine if there was any movement at all. The fog with the uncanny silence and lack of wildlife was beginning to set him on edge.
"This area seems too quiet. Something is not right. I believe we should be on guard for danger because with this fog we cannot see very far and might not see danger before it is practically on us."
Holding his sword in both hands he began to walk more carefully, looking all around hoping something would show so he could break the boredom of the journey.
As you communicate with each other and walk along the road to the tomb, you already have a sense of dread. You attention is momentarily distracted by something on the road. You can see it, even through the overcast morning.
A body is on the road up ahead, laying face up. It is not moving. You can already smell a foul, hideous stench from it, even from 30 feet away.

Sniffing the air, Judas says to no one in particular: "Once you’ve gotten used to a certain kind of smell from a certain kind of flesh, whether it’s a lover or a rotting corpse, you long for it when it’s not around. Or maybe it’s just me."
He begins to shake his maraca stick (like a rattle snake), and without touching the body, walks slowly around it, inspecting it from all sides, sniffing and pawing at the air (Perception: 22).
Your perception results in the following observations:
- The body is laying face up. It is very dead. You cannot discern for how long. At least a day. - It is a male, and is wearing the clothing of a priest, or a cleric. It has no other trappings. - The chest cavity has been completely blow open, as if an explosion happened from the inside out. - His organs, from this vantage point, appear to be...moving..writhing inside him. - There is organic matter, bits, and blood everywhere within a foot of the body.

Judas raises his right hand, palm up towards the heavens, and wiggles his fingers like he's tickling something. In the palm of his hand appears a small orange/red flaming orb. Wrapping his right hand around it in the air, the orb grows larger and larger, until it's the size of a small boulder. He then makes a shoving motion, and the flaming orb shoots off towards the dead body, aiming at the writhing organs.
Judas casts Sacred Flame, causing 7 radiant damage to the writhing organs.
OOC: Ooooh, whoop de-doo. Just a little spark to cauterize the wound.
You roll d20 for many reasons. Attack rolls, ability checks, saving throws, etc..
If, at any time, you roll a NAT 20 on a d20 for any reason, I will allow you to, in addition to whatever it is you're trying to do, add something spectacular to your result, or I will add some additional information to whatever you were trying to attempt. Additional damage will not be allowed, but the benefit, within reason, will help you greatly. Once you get a nat 20, you must announce what great additional thing you'd like to do, limited ONLY by your imagination. As always, I have the final say to keep things balanced and not too overpowered.
Contrary, if you roll a NAT 1 on a d20 , I and only I will add some horrible detrimental effect to whatever you were trying to do. In most cases, this is a miss, and something bad will happen.
If you roll good or poorly on damage rolls, nothing additional happens.

Ugg looks around the body as Judas examines the body and casts his spell. He tried to see what could possibly have caused the seeming explosion and was looking for any signs of what came out of him other than blood and bits of body. (investigation 9)

Phil goes over to the side of the road and tries not to hurl his vegitarian breakfast all over the path. He has seen some death, even for only being 127 years old, being trained in combat you have to be exposed to this kinda stuff, but the sheer unnaturalness of the situation really puts him off. He will look towards the forest instead of the body and try to notice anything unusual.
All you see is the forest, and a growing nausea sensation overtaking your senses. You vomit on the side of the road.
As Judas and Ugg peer into the dead carcass, the body's "organs" writhe madly as the sacred flame burns lightly. Suddenly, two thick worm-like horrors with mouths filled with razor sharp teeth shriek and launch towards your faces, splashing blood and matter further everywhere.
Judas and Ugg, I need a DEX check from each of you, please.
The worm with the gaping mouth of teeth whizzes by your head and splats wetly on the ground behind you, giving you a perfect opportunity to strike before it leaps at you again. They appear to be going for the face.

At this time, Varth gets a bit bored with the book he was reading and realizes he has fallen behind from his companions.
"Oh blasted bonedust, I've nearly gotten myself lost... again."
He makes a mad dash towards the others, exclaiming "Hello companions! Sorry for lagging behind."
He then smiles. It has been long since he has actually conversed with people who have little to no knowledge or interest in the ancients.

TEACHINGS:
Lets see what the others do as your sacred flame contacts lightly with the dead body you're investigating.
Because this is a play by post game, keep in mind what others are doing, and I give people a reasonable time to post and react.
So, while Judas casts his spell, what are the others doing? I try and let everyone speak up and act before pushing the story forward.

You manage to skillfully dodge out of the way of the bloody toothworm. It splats to the ground near you, readying for another attack.
Your attack hits true, but it's not enough to kill it. It launches at your face:
Bite Attack: 12 Damage: 5
Luckily, it misses, and again, wetly splats on the road near you.
