Akira answered the call to battle at a young age maybe 10 years old. I was 1 of 4 out for our first hunt. The first hunt of the season the younglings joined the other hunters in the tribe. It's a time honored tradition in my clan.We had been tracking the animals all night hurding them into the kill zone where the others wait. The younglings saw a few trying to get away so we moved in to push them back. As we crested the ridge just out if site my band of younglings ran into a rival clan. They turned and fired off arrows in our direction. My best friend got hit and dropped before we knew they were there.
The remaining 3 of us let out blood curdling roars as we charger our attackers. We held them off long enough for our elders to engage and fend off the attackers. Since then you've trained with and become one of their warriors. Now you're setting out for new adventure the whole world shall hear of the exploits of Akira.

Drig was a sailor on the Wind Spear, a navy ship patrolling the sea, protecting merchant vessels from pirates and such. At least, until the fateful day when the Wind Spear was assailed by a ghost ship.
In a terrible show of force, the ghost ship killed half the crew without breaking a sweat. The spirit of its captain offered the officers of the Wind Spear a deal... Serve aboard the ghost ship, or sink with the Wind Spear to the bottom of the sea.
The officers surrendered, and Drig was made a slave along with the rest of the crew. They toiled at rotting oars, and frayed ropes which never quite gave out. Drig could feel part of himself begin to drift away, his spirit starting to separate from his body.
He knew he must escape. He waited for an opportunity, holding out hope he would not become one of the spectres first. And his chance arrived...
The ghost ship made to raid a merchant vessel, and Drig hid among the dead. The ship was blasted to bits, and Drig washed away with the rest of the floating debris, either unnoticed or unworried over.
Drig was rescued three days later by privateers, looking to chase down what was believed to be pirates. Drig was put into the next port and swore to never go near the sea again, if he could help it. But if he did... He would be prepared.
He began spending his efforts to learn the ways of battle, and hemocraft against the undead. He would not be caught in a battle unable to fight.
Of course, that's what he thought until Elturel came crashing down. Drig arrived in Baldur's Gate with so many other refugees. His first move: finding the Flaming Fist, and signing up to fight whatever evil had taken his bastion of safety from the sea away.
Drig is currently embattled on the road, escorting a party when bandits attacked. The poor bandits will regret coming face to face with a man intent on battling greater evils than they.

Name: Corin Tanssija (link to character sheet on DDB) Ability Scores: STR=11, DEX=18, CON=17, INT=20 (17+2+1) , WIS=14, CHA=11. Race: Custom Lineage (see racial and feat ability modifiers above), Feat: Fey Touched (INT) Class: Wizard (Bladesinging) Background and Backstory: See (first) spoiler below.
Background: Faction Agent
Backstory: Born the youngest daughter of a well-known high elf family near Silverymoon, and a bastard to boot, Corin was nearly an afterthrought at best and an embarrassment at worst. Other than a good education, she was left to her own devices and the less said about her, the better. Which suited her fine. She needed to get out. Anywhere. Perhaps to visit her tiefling father. Too haughty and stuffy these noble sun elves she had always thought, chafing under aristocratic expectations and spending much more time with merchants, travelers and urchins, who tolerated her for the most part. This mixed background helped her develop a sense of the complexities of the world, though it didn't entirely prepare her for what was to come. Her wanderlust led her, during young adulthood, into the High Forest south of Silverymoon where a chance encounter led her to befriend an ancient wood elf. A master of the ancient elven art of Bladesinging. Here was a pursuit Corin could pour herself into, body and soul, learning diligently and eagerly from the master, once he agreed to teach her. Losing herself in the rhythm and the magic as she danced with her blade.
After over 2 years of training, her master revealed to her that he had retired from a secret organization on the Sword Coast dedicated to combating tyranny and helping the less powerful - the Harpers. He sent her on to Waterdeep at the request for help from one of his old colleagues, deeming her "not ready, but as ready as you're likely to be anytime soon." Once in Waterdeep, the Harpers thrust Corin nearly immediately into a mission that made her realize quickly how little she knew of the darkness in the world.
----- -----
Weeks of buildup had led to this. An infiltration of the Cassalanter villa in Waterdeep. The Cassalanters were a rich and respected aristocratic family in Waterdeep with powerful allies in the city. And even more powerful allies outside it. The Harpers had discovered the Cassalanters' devotion to the Arch-Devil Asmodeus, arising (as always with devils) from an ill-fated bargain they had made. Harper agents had discovered the devil and devil-spawn "servants" on their grounds, and the human sacrifices the Cassalanter family were conducting in the catacombs under the mansion and villa. Tonight was the night the Harpers would bring them down. Infiltrate the villa and expose them to the light of day.
But as always, things had not gone as planned. Corin had been a scout and spotter on the outskirts of the villa grounds. She had taken out the imps disguised as ravens who roamed the trees as sentries for the Cassalanters. But she soon discovered that the main incursion group had been betrayed. Killed or captured. Now they were after the rest of them. All of them. Corin knew that making a bargain with Devils as the Cassalanters had was bad, but perhaps earning the true enmity of Devils, and of the powerful Cassalanter family, was worse. Her Harper hideouts compromised and her allies dead or going to ground like her, Corin was on the run. And they were after her, to be certain. Just after she had managed to exit the city under an improvised disguise, she had noticed men (or devils in disguise?) in Cassalanter livery speaking with the gate guards behind her.
They were coming. Wherever she ran. North to Neverwinter. South to Baldur's Gate. Enlisting in and infiltrating the Flaming Fist to hide in plain sight, though she doubted it would work. Why had she ever left home in Silverymoon again? No time to worry about that. She needed to keep her eyes open. The Devils were coming.

But she found she was a very capable tracker and began training in combat and tracking criminals as a bounty hunter to pay the bills while she search for her husband. Eventually she found a lead that he had been taken out of the city to Elturel. Upon arriving the in city she began searching for leads. But before she could complete her search the collapse occurred. Now looking to search for the city and hopefully find her husband, she joined the Flaming Fist in hopes it would give her the answers she seeks.

Steve was studying in a small academy in Elturel, specializing in communications, persuasion and deception to overwhlem his enemies - on secondment from his role of Lieutenant in the Elturel city guard - his captain having recognized his potential. Sent out on a training exercise, he was out of the city at the time of the event. On his return he helped to organise the refugees heading to Baldur’s Gate, acting as the head of a guard company whilst keeping in charge of private mules at the same time. Only on arriving in Baldur’s Gate did he allow his anger and guilt to surface. Steve had recently found five boxes of cash that had been taken out of the city to Elturel. Upon arriving the in city he began searching for who sent the money so that he can transfer them back to the Senior General managers. However, Steve's business hideouts became compromised and his allies dead or going to ground like him, Steve was on the run. And they were after him, to be certain. All because he retained those boxes of cash for himself.
