Wicker nods respectfully to Knox, eyes following Vlar and Bolin as they leave the vicinage. The corner of her lip curls upward into a playful smirk... maybe I should duel this Bolin, magic on metal. That will determine whether he's always prepared!
But she doesn't linger on this thought - Audun's story is far too interesting. A member who speaks goblin-tongue is sure to be a useful asset.
A thin stout Dwarven man with black hair and oddly sunken eyes stands aloofly in the corner. Upon hearing of free gear he begins to slowly but surely push and shove his way through the crowd. Along the way he hears the desert dwelling man boast The tale of him learning goblin this frustrates Soot. as he makes his way towards the front he removes his rapier, and states to the man with a tinge of annoyance in his voice “yeah yeah Bub you are the only common Joe who can talk to the greenies.” he then shoves his rapier into the arms of Knox. The dwarf grabs one of the new rapiers and begins to make his way back through the crowd. As he passes adventure after adventure the little voice in the back of his mind begins to speak “Oh I can’t wait to see the faces of these Fools as the two of us you and I b…” suddenly interrupted by the strange blond haired woman from earlier she references his sheath covered in a thin magical frost and asks if he wields magic “no and I’d really prefer not chit chat I have much to plan for.” The woman looks at him tells him that she’s excited to work along his side “thank you ma’am the names Soot, Soot craivenclaw, and I’m simply hear to hone my skills and please my god.”
(Hello everyone I’ve been playing dnd for about a year and this is my first pbp so bear with me although I’m excited to show off my writing style and character ideas ps punctuation is not my strong soot but I’ll try my best)

Okay. Deragor gets a +1 longbow and +1 shortsword; Audun (and anyone else who wants them) gets two healing potions; Bolin gets a +1 great axe, and Soot gets a +1 rapier. None of the weapons are considered magical, just finely crafted.
Does anyone want or need +1 armor and/or shield?
Yes, Prim. Although not in the hospital library, you were able to find several variations of both "detect magic" and "locate object" in the arcane section of the Freeport University library. Padlocks and keys are provided for each party member who wants to store things at the depot.
It is early afternoon; so, you have plenty of time to explore the city before lights out, which is shortly after nightfall.
Deragor takes Anything he thinks it could be useful to him. So potions and armor as well, if he found a fitting hide armor for himself. (But OOC i don't want so many items for my character for free, I want to earn it :D so I will say that he didn't like any of the armor)
Ah, yes, Miss Nightroot, of course. Studded leather, you say? We have a nice suit of studded leather right here, but it might be a bit big for you. It is sized for a human, elf, or large dwarf. Perhaps you would prefer a small suit of hide armor or a chain shirt?
Bolin declines the armor but gladly takes the two healing potions on his way out he stops to greet primrose "hello lass well magic definitely isn't my bucket of bolts but I to am looking forward to working with ya as well you seem like a very capable person can't wait to see what ya can do" and Bolin continues walking to the court yard in search of some training dummies to wack waiting for either dinner time or his next instructions. He's also feeling much better about staying on this plane of existence and can't wait to start cracking some goblin skulls open.
Audun graciously takes two health potions as Soot makes his remarks about his tale. Not wanting to create conflict in the group he just ignores the short man and pretends he didn't hear what he said. Hurting unit cohesion over a petty squabble isn't a good idea with what they'll be facing. Looking through the provided equipment he grabs a fine set of chain mail (+1) and puts it on after taking off his current rusty set. Seeing that it fits well he keeps it on, making a mental note to ask the quartermaster if he could have it later. Audun opts to keep his current shield, since he doesn't see any green paint lying around. While not as important as his family's scimitar the green shield holds sentimental value, he'd been through so much with it. Deciding he should get to know the team he goes off to meet his companions. Seeing that the bugbear and axe armed dwarf have already left. He also doesn't see the necromancer anywhere. Instead, Audun goes to the halfling getting armor and introduces himself. "Hello, my name is Audun Sandtoes." He extends a hand for a shake, while trying to crouch down in a way that doesn't seem disrespectful. "You could try soaking the armor in warm water to shrink it a little? I'm not sure if that'd work however." He turns to the quartermaster and points to his new set of chainmail. "May I keep this? It's very well made."
"I know some magic, but none of those spells that you mentioned." - Deragor answered the question from Prim.
Then he put his old stuff (his shortsword and his longbow) in his footlocker, and go outside to try his new toys. Few swing with the sword, and practice a little bit with the bow as well. He put the two healing potions in an easily accessible place. He sees the dwarf in the courtyard with his big axe, out of the corner of his eye, but he doesn't care much for it.
Standing just at the door, the bugbear pauses, realizing that the quartermaster is giving the supplies in this chamber, not somewhere else. he stalks back over. "Will you give me a rapier, longbow, and, if possible, that human-sized studded leather?" He asks, his words accented by soft growls, as if agression barely contained.
"Ah, alas. The ethos of my kind prohibits the use of weapons and armour made of metal - it restricts the wearer's connection with the outside world. But I will take your dwarven-sized studded leather..."
While conversing, Knox is subject to the near hypnotic nature of Wicker's speech - it's like listening to the hollow patter of drizzle on a forest canopy.
As soot leaves he notices the grey bug bear and has already began planning for a great duel in the future. As he leaves he heads west till the hospital and then south. He finds a small alley way just south of the house of Ghain. Quickly soot sets a trip wire and bell. Then finds a nestled spot to remove his small table and empty his pouch of trinkets. After a minute or so his shrine is complete and he begins speaking in a strangely structured language made up of clicks and hisses. Soot calls out to his patron (I’d like to keep my god a secret for now although I’ve already dropped a few hints so I implore you please don’t medagame) he calls out to the plains beyond in this wretched tongue “my prince I seek guidance in what’s to come and I do this all in your name.” (I’m looking to get some sort of advantage on/accessional hint for investigation or perception) I rolled a 15 on religion (I’m rolling off my character sheet because the dice on this are confusing you should see my rolls on the campaign page I apologize for all the sneak attacks I had a smudge on my screen) as soot packs up and leaves the alley the dwarven man dust off his black and cream ruffled suit. (think the goblin king from the labrynth) On his way back he sees a small halfling citizen. as soot passes the man as slickly as possible the dwarf bumps into him and removes his coin. pouch 22 on sleight of hand. If not noticed he begins to head back to base. Upon returning he slips behind everyone else and as not to be judged he replaces all his equipment. (1 shortbow 20arrows leather armor and 2 daggers)
Prim gets her two potions from the Quartermaster and a Camo hat closest to the style of her pink hat (which she puts in her locker)
"Thank you very much", she tells the quartermaster.
if she had to return the items from the last mission she gets them back and tells anyone who might have been interested that she's heading to the library to try and learn detect magic and locate object before we leave
Then heads to the library & starts researching.
If there's a "women's barracks" open for the party she'll stay there for convenience.
(Do I roll Arcana or something to see if I learn the spells?)
(OOC I tried to add healing potions to character sheet & it only gave me the choice of "healing potion-greater" or better. Is there a trick to adding a regular healing potion?)

(OOC: try Not to filter to potions. Or try filter to "Other Gear" and there will be a basic "Potion of Healing")

Prim checks if scrolls, potions or spellbooks are in the provided equipment just to be sure.
And mills about looking for any sign of magic use in the party. Robes, wands, component pouches, spell foci, arcane sigil on clothes, etc.
And introduces herself.
"Hello, I'm Primrose". (extends hand to shake)
"I see you have a (item that suggests magic use) would you be a caster?"
If not: "That's alright, I still look forward to working with you tomorrow".
If so: "Wonderful! Do you have "Detect Magic" or "Locate Object"? Do you want to see if we can find a source to learn one before tomorrow?"
Prim leaves her fine clothes & cold weather clothes in a footlocker & gets a lock & key from the supply depot. (Is there a ladies only room)
(did Prim see detect magic in the hospital spellbooks?)

Wouldn't mind some +1 armour!
Here is a link to a map of the area you are in: https://inkarnate.com/m/ze1Z65--freeport-city-east-gate-district/
