The staff connects with the raider's jaw, flicking his head upward with a sickening crunch. He falls to the ground afterward, face frozen in a pained expression. Perhaps feeling the fight an inevitable loss, one of the other men sheath their sword and make a run for it, dashing behind one of the burning buildings and out of sight.

Nodding a wordless thanks to Adem for finishing that one off, Ramia sprints forward, sliding to a stop next to the enemy on the south end of the road with her hands outstretched to them. Words of power flow across her tongue, and a fan of flame shoots from her fingertips as she casts Burning Hands
Movement: Putting her diagonal to the bottom enemy on the road, such that the other is in a line behind them. Fire Damage:9
I see the enemy successfully deflecting arrow, I strum my viol, I look at him, and point to him. "You can avoid arrows by laying on your back and stay there"
Both raiders crouch down, covering their heads with their shields as the spray of fire washes over them. It protects them somewhat, but as the fire clears you can still see burns across their torsos, legs, and arms.
As the one in the doorway prepares to make another attack against the townsman, Sariel's magic reaches his ears. He stops mid-swing, and instead falls to the ground, prone.

Aryniel nods at the displays of spellwork by the others around, seemingly satisfied at the efficiency in the midst of battle. She eyes the raider that was not bent by Sariel's magic and narrows her eyes, nocking another arrow and pointing at this one's legs, "Are you deaf!? Stand down!"
Aryniel's arrow flies fast and true, striking her target in the upper thigh. He lets out a howl of pain as his weapon falls to the ground, dropping to his knees and clutching the wound in pain. For now, he's out of the fight and rapidly losing blood.
The man continues to writhe on the ground for a few seconds as blood sprays from the wound, the arrow having nicked one of the large arteries. His struggle ends quickly, as his body goes still and skin goes pale.
Seeing the raider attacking the villager collapse to the ground, Alkyn shifts his attention to the raider directly south who is currently engaged with one of his allies. His eyes flicker briefly back to his original target, but at this range -- and on the ground -- it would be a more difficult shot. "Hit him, you fool!" he shouts. Hopefully the hoe-wielder can finish him off now that he is vulnerable.
A third attacker drops as Alkyn's arrow pierces his throat, cutting short a battle cry. The townsman seems startled to action by his call, gripping the hoe tighter and beginning to step forward.

Black lightning arcs from Adem's hand as he sizes up the man prone on the ground. He closes one eye, lining up the shot before throwing his hand out, hurling a beam of black energy towards the raider.

Turning on her heel now, Ramia's hand twists upwards as she speaks more arcane words. Magical flame roars to life around the prone raider with the casting of Create Bonfire.
Following the half elf woman, I move forward 10 more feet and cast Toll the Dead on my proned opponent.
This time I pluck a string of my viol. The pluck vibrates and a red light pulses on my glove. I pluck in repetition. In a same beat like a bell in a steeple.

Magical effects descend upon the lone raider, who miraculously manages to avoid the magical flames and resist the effects of the tolling bells. Breathing heavily as he finally manages to stand, he looks over his situation with hatred in his eyes. He seems to come to a realization, and a decision. Turning back around, he thrusts forward with his sword to skewer the hapless townsman.
The man tries to divert the blow with his gardening tool, but is too slow. Steel runs through his torso, and he collapses to the ground as the raider pulls the bloody blade from his body.
