Kathra snorts. "Bit difficult to read. I've no interest in being skinned alive to make a map."
She listens to Gavin's plan. "Hmm. Perhaps. But how do we know we'll even be able to understand one another? I'd like to avoid any violent misunderstandings - and those tusks of theirs sure seem like they could have caused the wounds on that halfling back in town."
When you put on the goggles, everything assumes a more yellowish tinge. Kathra's tattoos look just about how they did before. Notably, however, the strange radiation of the crystal sword no longer seems to hurt your eyes when you look at it through the yellow lenses of the goggles. After scanning around a bit, Mirabel asks to use the goggles next and you hand them over.
For Mirabel:
As you take the goggles from Peren and slide them over your eyes, everything sort of goes yellowish. Nothing looks too terribly different, though you can now look at the mirage-like aura of the crystal sword without it causing your eyes to water and small eye-strain pain from building up in your skull like before.

Have a fabulous Vay-Cay! Post when you can, I think we have a pretty understanding group. I just got back from Spain last month and I would have prioritized vacation time too :)
((That is correct. The goggles are good for protecting your eyes from bright lights and the weird visual effect of the magic sword, but seem pretty ordinary otherwise.))

((Alright, hearing no objections, heading back to the Large Room by the Forge Room and the Altar Room.))
Deciding it is best to find a secure location to hold up for a while and lick your wounds, you all file down the spiral stone and metal stairs and through the western hall until you reach the familiar large room with the collapse on the southern end and the huddle of walrus-folk in the northern corner. It doesn't take long to quickly stow your things in the Forge Room and block out a little section for a makeshift camp.
((I need someone to make a non-Guidanced Perception check.))

As you stand guard near one of the two Forge Room doors, alert for dangers, you think you hear the sound of glass grinding against stone echoing down the long hallway to the room with the spiral staircase. Squinting down the hallway, you don't see anything, and just as you concentrate on the grinding noise, it seems to stop.

Peren will put on the goggles and look at Kathra’s tattoo

Mirabel puts on the goggles. "I feel very silly in these, but I will take a look."

((The goggles! THE GOGGLES!!!))
For Peren:
When you put on the goggles, everything assumes a more yellowish tinge. Kathra's tattoos look just about how they did before. Notably, however, the strange radiation of the crystal sword no longer seems to hurt your eyes when you look at it through the yellow lenses of the goggles. After scanning around a bit, Mirabel asks to use the goggles next and you hand them over.

Kathra seems vaguely annoyed at the number of people staring at her new tattoos.
Peren says the goggles seem to just be normal Sun glasses, to protect your eyes from bright light
((FYI - I leave for vacation in the morning, so I will be in and out of the post until next Monday. I will have WiFi at the hotel room so should be able to post a couple times per day, but not as much as I have been up until now))
"Well, they make the sword easier to look at, but otherwise they're just goggles."
Mirabel takes off the goggles. "Maybe they help if you're navigating the stars?"
((So no impact when looking upstairs, at the discs, at the murals?))
((That is correct. The goggles are good for protecting your eyes from bright lights and the weird visual effect of the magic sword, but seem pretty ordinary otherwise.))
“May I hold onto the goggles? At least as long as I have the sword?” Gavin asks
"That makes as much sense as anything in this place," Mirabel says. He tosses the goggles to Gavin.
I will keep them on as we head back to walrus men (when everyone is ready) just in case I see something else w their help.
((heading to see infinity war w my son so prob won’t post more tonight))
All ready! ((Yeesh - I have a couple work meetings and miss tattoos!))

Kathra can't shake the feeling that things are going to go very badly very soon, and stays on high alert throughout the process.
