(Devona, Zalten are either of you able to read Abyssal?)
"Oh Shurken was interested in all sorts of things, but he never asked me much about anything." She kindly replies to the loud elf. Then she looks up at Zalten. "The Merge? Well, that was something that happened quite a long time ago. Legend has it, that is when this realm lost it's First Guardian. It all happened because of some kind of war in some other realm. Most of the information pertaining to it was lost years ago. I'm almost certain that Zoran and Cyra are partially to blame for that fact. In short, the Merge changed this realm. This land was not always trapped between day and night. Nor was it always completely covered in sand. Some say part of this land was eaten up by the Abyss, others say it collapsed on top of the realm below it, which is what I believe anyway. Why else would we have two suns? We had to have stolen it from another realm."
Kashika wondered aloud, as she had never heard the particular words used before... it wasn't a main part of her life, W-which end of a river would be the mouth? where it starts, or ends?shaking the temporary curiosity from her mind, though she half-lies half-truths to the old minituaress... We believe it will help us in o-our adventure. A-as far as we know, it's never been done or considered... she wasn't necessarily trying to deceive but trying to also not be too forthcoming with her information.
Though as the talks go on, and this is the only temple left that she's aware of, a small theory forms in her head. She had nothing to base this off of from her life ... however she had enough common sense to put 2 and 2 together, even if she was wrong ... the theory would atleast draw an 'i see how you came to that conclusion'
Mmmm you say that this temple is all that's left after the m-merge... did it maybe cause the merge? Or perhaps who... or w-what did - took the temple as it's h-home? Or p-perhaps there is a third dragon... or somethign else that thinks it can use the c-crown..
"The mouth of course...If you are thinking of traveling there, I do strongly suggest you follow the road until you get to the Bridge of Shadows, then follow the river upstream. You do not want to be caught in the Twilight with no land marks to guide you." Bella replies, "I do hope I am being helpful, but I do not understand why you champions are going through so much trouble to find this temple." She sighs, "But I suppose it's none of my business." She stops as Kashika starts to speak again, "Perhaps, Perhaps not. That is something I cannot answer. Perhaps the temple itself can tell you that. I for one do not think there is a third dragon in this realm. At least not one who was born here. Our first Guardian was lost sometime around the merge. Whether before, during or after I cannot say. That was far, far before my time. Unfortunately, the only living souls left in this realm who may know the answer to those questions are the two guardians themselves, and I know for a fact that they do not like talking about it." She takes a sip of her tea.

"Ah! Well, it seems we have our heading!" Nygil says. "You have been of much help to us Madame, and you have our deepest gratitude. I doubt we would have ever located the temple if not for you and your books." He scans the library, "Ah, it takes a special person to appreciate such a place..." He trails off frowning at himself before smiling again and saying, "Merge smurge, to be honest the history of this land is of little concern to me. All we want is to find that crown and go home... right?" He glances at his companions, "Well...those of us who don't want anymore adventure anyways."He shrugs. He doesn't really want to be stuck here, but he also wouldn't mind exploring more either. Perhaps he could find another master of martial arts to train with...hmm that was an interesting thought.
Nygil is suddenly aware that Whicket is not with you. Now that he thinks about it. He hasn't seen the Kobold since he dashed into the library when Devona opened the door.
Bella nods, "I'm glad to have been of service."She frowns a little bit at his comment but doesn't say anything about it. She can't tell if this loud elf is being rude or trying to complement her. Best not to question it and just take it as the latter.
Jumble had remained silent and wide-eyed since entering the library. It had been a bit disappointing that they had to just walk past and ignore all the knowledge contained in all the books in the building; but there was always later. He hoped.
The bard had nearly finished his tea, listening to the others talk, particularly about the scroll (which he guessed might by Abyssal, but was unable to read.) His curiosity piqued as Kashika mentioned the prospect of a third dragon, and then again at Bella's response.
"Perhaps, Perhaps not. That is something I cannot answer. Perhaps the temple itself can tell you that. I for one do not think there is a third dragon in this realm. At least not one who was born here. Our first Guardian was lost sometime around the merge. Whether before, during or after I cannot say. That was far, far before my time. Unfortunately, the only living souls left in this realm who may know the answer to those questions are the two guardians themselves, and I know for a fact that they do not like talking about it."
Jumble also notices that Whicket the Kobold has not been with you since entering the library.
(I'll say Jumble is learned enough to at least recognize the language as Abyssal while everyone else here just sees a bunch of odd scribbles.)
"Do you have any other questions my dears?" Bella asks, "If I know the answers I will give them to you. Hmmm, Oh it is nice to have some Company once in a while." She smiles.
Jumble coughed a bit, and quickly spoke, "Well, yes, ah, you've been most helpful, thank you! It's a shame none of us could read Abyssal, but at least we have a destination now. I--" He looked towards the others, "--supposed we should round up Whicket and get going then?"
The bard said the last part flatly, to avoid his jealous irritation coming through. He just knew the Kobold had squirreled himself away somewhere, and was reading everything he could get his hands on.
Nygil frowns, "Uhhh where did that kobold go?" He briefly considers ignoring the disappearance since they probably didn't need the kobold, but... well what could the little guy be doing in here?
Devona listens to the others quietly while finishing her tea. Before they get up to leave she speaks again, "Abyssal? Oh dear, we might have to find a translator for that. But I suppose one last question, 'Any personal opinions about the two dragons the rule the realms? Is there anything else in this library that you think might help us at all? I think we're all pretty invested in finding the lost crown and putting things right. Do you know who made the crown?"She finds herself starting to ramble and so suddenly stops and bites her lip a little before fiddling with her hair again.
Devona: You notice the same thing that everyone else did.
You know that Whicket has a 'secret' hide out in one of the more run down reading lounges. It's one of the many places he camps out in the city. He also hordes a lot of stuff there.
"Well dear, I do prefer Zoran over Cyra. That's why I live in Dawn after all. Hehe. He may be a narcissist, but he's a lot more relaxed when it comes to most regulations. Despite his dislike for the poorer population, he does make sure there is food available for them. He likes it when his citizens like him, and he's smart enough to know that hungry citizens will quickly become angry ones." She pauses for a moment, "Do I know who made the crown? Haha of course not. The guardian's are the only ones who know that dear. Though I can tell you it's not of this world. No matter what they say, that crown must have come from another realm or universe even. Hehe, and I doubt it was created with the Guardian sibling's consent."
As Bella responded to Devona's questions, Jumble stood, a rather annoyed look on his face. He suddenly turned to their host and smiled as she finished speaking, and apologetically announced, "I'll go find our friend. I'm sure he's just reading somewhere, and not into any mischief." As the bard turned toward the door, he muttered under his breath, "Or at least he'd better not be."
Devona nodded along a bit, "I suppose that all makes sense. Perhaps we will find out more when we find out what happened to the crown this time." She looked at the others, "Oh I'm sure Whicket is around here somewhere, he likes to hide out here quite a bit. Check the reading rooms on our way out." Devona will then stand up and thank the minotaur again for the tea and then begin walking by the reading rooms to help look for Whicket before heading out.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bella nods, "Thank you for stopping by! You know you are always welcome here." Smiles at you all when you walk away.
As Devona and Jumble start walking towards the reading rooms. You hear a quiet scuffling noise and low grumbles. Hearing this, you start making your way toward it. Just as you are about to turn a corner, you here an "Aha!" then the scuffling turns to the sound of feet slapping the dusty floor. Next thing you know, Whicket dashes around the corner and almost barrels into Jumble. "Waaaa!" He screeches as he skids to a stop then quickly tries to hide something behind his back. "Oh, it's you." He grins, "I was just...fixing my lute!"He says innocently while still holding the object behind his back.
Slight of hand: 9
After a few moments, he leans sideways to look behind you. His eyes darting over any of the other party members who followed you. He's looking for Kashika.
(You can make a perception check against his slight of hand if you wish.)
"Oh there you are Wicked Whicket. We were just going to go...what do you have there Whicket? Come on, no secrets now huh!" Devona held out her hand after pointing to whatever he was trying to hide behind his back. "Don't look at me like that, I know that's not your lute."
Nygil, rearing to go, graciously thanks the minotaur woman for her help before following the others towards the exit. Upon seeing the troublesome Kobold he laughs, "Oh come on, it its you're lute you've got then why are you hiding it?" He takes note of the kobolds glance, "You looking for something little guy?" He grins, wondering if the Kobold thinks someone is after him due to the wanted posters...
The Kobolds glance quickly shifts to looking up at Devona. He looks a bit embarrassed. "I did fix my lute. Th-That's what took me so long!"He says, "An-and this is none of your business." His voice regains some confidence as he finishes that line with a sharp nod.
Devona, being quite a bit taller than the small Kobold, can easily see that he's holding some kind of rolled up clothing behind him. Whatever it is is a dark silver color made with smooth fabric that has a slight shine to it. Seeming to realize that the woman can easily see his item, he quickly pulls it in front of him and hugs it to his chest attempting to cover it with his arms. The look of embarrassment is back in his eyes as he stares up at Devona then glances at Nygil. "None of your business!"
