It took some tough debates on various topics. The backstory, uniqueness, personality, and other elements of the campaign itself. Thank you all for entering! This will be a great campaign.
And yes, it was supposed to be chosen Wednesday, but it's Tuesday night here and I already had this team in mind, so just a bit early. I was supposed to be thinking all of Wednesday, but since I was doing constant updates on favorites, it wasn't too hard.
Backstory: Discovered the pearl defenders on a personal mission to find his sister, before he discovered them he was just a kid living on his own stealing and living in the shadows to get by. Mostly trauma free but doesn’t have any other family members other than his older sister.
personality: very intelligent, bright personality (as in he’s extroverted and kind) though he is kind and stuff he is very chaotic. (Chaotic neutral) deep down all he wants is a friend (literally the only reason he is nice to people, otherwise he could care less)
attack style: uses anything explosive and isn’t very organized with attacks. Still learning how to be more precise. Most of the time his attacks go like this- your staring at child (he’s 14)- nothing too suspicious- and then **BOOM** chaos.
appearance: very short for his age only about five foot tall (sort of comes to his advantage bc he is not easily noticed) has purple skin and small horns, along with shoulder length black hair with bright colored beads in it. Most of the time he ties it back. White speckles on his skin resembling freckles. Wears a cloak and a mailman like bag to hold all his trinkets and homemade explosives.
i can post at least once a week. Possibly daily.
(notice I will be frequently updating this over the next few days for this character is fairly new and I will add onto them as I figure more things out abt them)
Backstory. What is your story? How did you find out about the Pearl Defenders? Mordecai comes from a land far away where he was one of many druid keepers of a magic grove of dryad trees. Half a century ago the grove began to shrink and not support new dryad trees. Mordecai has been sent out to seek a new land that will accept the seeds and begin a new grove, but no druid sent out before him has been successful in finding adequate foreign soil. Mordecai will be the first or die trying. He met a group of companions on his journey and has been traveling with them when they received the king's summons.
Optional Info:
Your character's personality. (Grumpy but honorable, backstabbing traitor, scaredy-cat, etc.) A bit bumbling and forgetful yet perceptive . Mordecai regularly maintains a calm attitude and try's to resolve things peacefully first when possible
Your main attack style. Weapons, tactics, etc. Main attacks are spells while reserving wild shape more for defense or utility.
Also whatever you'd like to add. Mordecai is a rather elderly fellow. He stands about 5'10 slightly hunched over with white hair and beard draped in the forest green cowl of his runic cloak. Upon his shoulder sits a great horned owl who observes all around with caution and intrigue.
He has the magic initiate feat to get find familiar
And also how often you can post. At least once every 1-2 days. I am new to play by post so I might need help with rolls and such. Taking a vacation in march that might reduce frequency

The halfling woke up in a storm drain around the age of 7 and found herself looking into the beady black eyes of a mouse. She had no memory of anything earlier than that moment, she doesn’t even know how old she is. Even her name, she gave to herself. Tru….just Tru.
Tru (and her little mouse friend) live on the streets, begging and stealing to survive. One day as she roamed the alleys – her domain – Tru smelled freshly baked bread and made her way into a backyard. She saw a loaf through an open window and couldn’t resist trying to steal it. She was caught by Mathilda, the owner of the premises. Mathilda gave her a slice of bread, spread thickly with butter. She took her in, letting her sleep on a makeshift bed on the floor in the kitchen. Mathilda was a ‘madam’ and the building a brothel. Tru lived there for several years, stealing from the customers for Mathilda as she served food and drinks to them.
She was like a little sister to the working girls, one in particular called Diamond taught Tru her letters and used to read to her. And she befriended one of the ‘regulars’, a guard called Tomas, who taught her to use a crossbow.
One night Tru is delivering a tray of drinks to Diamond’s room. The man she is with – a local dignitary – is getting very rough with Diamond and when Tru tries to intervene he slaps her away. She grabs his dagger and stabs him in the neck, killing him. Mathilda throws her out into the night. So Tru goes back to living on the streets.
Learning that Tomas is one of the missing men sent to the temple, Tru is determined to join the group going after them.
Personality: Adorable, until you cross her or hurt anyone she cares for.
Main attack style: Ranged weapon and sneaky sneaky
As an Aussie pbp is perfect for me. I can post several times a week and probably even daily.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

You have an interesting character. That will go well with this campaign.
Class (Multiclass allowed later) Celestial Warlock
Backstory. What is your story? How did you find out about the Pearl Defenders? Coral wasn't born an Aasimar. He is sure of that. The body he has seems to belong to someone else. He woke a few years ago with a bound book in his hand and strange features. He doesn't recall much but the faces of dead friends swim before his eyes from time to time and he feels pangs of sorrow when they do. The book is the last parcel of a dark entity that was released in his former life. He made a pact with an Angel to keep the evil from spreading. Now the Book is bound to him.
optional Info:
Your character's personality. (Grumpy but honorable, backstabbing traitor, scaredy-cat, etc.) He is rather clumsy and gauche. But there is a fire in him that shines bright and he will do what he can to thwart evil. He will not let others suffer for his mistakes.
Your main attack style. Weapons, tactics, etc. Spells and healing. He is more support but will not shy away from a fight.
Also whatever you'd like to add: He has shining golden eyes and flowing red hair. His tanned, almost yellow skin radiates heat. I liked the idea of inner turmoil and the whispers of evil trying to pull him away from the "good" path.
He is haunted by an Evil he unleashed. He made a pact with a Upper Being to keep the Evil in check. Going for Pact of the Tome

Class: I need to playtest my homebrew class, the Spirit Caller, before I can sell it. If I'm allowed to play this character, you can get the class info for free!
Backstory: Growing up in the chaotic world of humans, Ylinna felt out of place as a more calm, collected person than those around her. She withdrew into the great forest, becoming a hermit and living a life of contemplation. One day, while meditating in a clearing, a small, spectral flame came to her. She learned that this was the spirit of an elf who had died in the forest eons ago, and she watched over the flame. As the years passed, more and more geists came to her, and she learned to work in tandem with them. One day, the spirits directed her to once again rejoin the modern world, and she reluctantly left the shade of the great boughs. Following the directions of the spirits, she traveled until the met the rest of the group, who the spirits said would play a great role in some upcoming conflict.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, will always think every dilemma through before taking action.
Tactics: Saralyn does not fight with weapons. Instead, she views each battle as a chess game as she directs the spirits bound to her around the fray.
Several times a day, unless I'm on vacation or something. I'll let you know before I leave if that happens.
Thank you for considering me! I love playing, and I really do need to do as much playtesting as possible, so I earnestly hope I'm picked.

Will everyone stop calling him "The Demogorgon"? It's his name, not a title!
Name: Zwer Race: Dragonborn Class: Monk Backstory: Legends of the desert temple are well known to the monks of Northgate Abbey. When the news of the king’s mission reached the abbey, the abbot chose Zwer as his official delegate. Zwer wasn’t sure if this was due to his success at learning the harsh disciplines of his order, or punishment for having been caught sneaking out of the abbey at night to explore the nearby countryside.
The night before he was to leave, Zwer rose again in the wee hours… this time not to secretly scale the wall to the outside, but to wander the abbey gardens lost deep in thought. At last stopping before the moss-encrusted and weather worn statue of Morrigan, he sat cross-legged on the cold cobblestones and prayed.Prayed for strength. And clarity.
Was this truly his path?Father had sent him here to teach him discipline and the ways of combat, and so he had.Learned much at least. But so much more to learn. And so much to life than just the way of the warrior.Yet the common people needed warriors to defend them.He heaved a heavy sigh and stretched out to lay his forehead on the smooth stone below. How much time passed as he lay there he didn’t know, but suddenly Zwer noted the unmistakable distant sound of thunder rumbling from the mountains to the south.
Slowly coming to his knees as he looked to the southern mountain peaks, softly aglow in the first shimmer of the dawn, he saw in an instant a flash of lightning strike behind the highest crest. The electrical energy that he often felt coursing through his limbs quivered as he widened his stance and threw his head back, trembling as he let out a crackling blue bolt of his own towards the sky above. This he thought… must be a sign.

Basic backstory: Ghurk Bra'kathu began life in his rather large bugbear tribe, consisting of around 26 bugbears. He was raised in the harsh manner classic to all bugbears. He was punished when he wasn't good enough, so he made sure that he would always be the best. He excelled at many aspects of, well, being a bugbear. He was a strong fighter, and he was undefeated in his tribe. His tribe eventually merged with a larger clan, consisting of hundreds of bugbears. He was a soldier in the clan's army, like so many others. He was tough, and resilient, and his company was always chosen for the toughest jobs. One day, however, his company bit off more than they could chew. They raided a military outpost; little did they know, it was a trap. One by one his comrades fell, until Ghurk was the last one standing. He continued to fight but eventually, he too was defeated. However, the captain of the ambushers told his soldiers to capture the bugbear, for he recognized that Ghurk was easily the strongest. They hauled him off to a dungeon, but within just a week, he managed to escape. He broke his bonds and surprised everybody by attacking the enemies who dared to capture him, rather than running away. In the end, he managed to escape. He managed to get his hands on some equipment, and decided to become an adventurer, pursuing an exciting, danger filled life which would allow him to hone his abilities. When he heard about this whole "Pearl Defender" thing, he decided that it would probably be cool so he embraced the role and the danger it might bring.
Your character's personality. (Grumpy but honorable, backstabbing traitor, scaredy-cat, etc.) - He doesn't fall into the simple minded stereotype of "SMASH DUMB SMASH"; his bugbear clan was sophisticated, and so is he. Turns out, he's also quite charismatic. He values his honor even more than a dwarf would (whoa), so he takes insults very personally.
Your main attack style. Weapons, tactics, etc. - Remember my thing about "not SMASH"? Well, I'll keep that up. He fights with polearms, preferring to keep his enemies 15 feet away where his weapons can reach them, for he sees no point in engaging in direct melee. He may be angry, but he doesn't lose his head.
Also whatever you'd like to add. - I've legit applied this character twice already, this is the third time. I'm persistent.
And also how often you can post. I may be active for a few sessions each day, maybe 15 minutes in length or more.
Also, any donut works for me. I love them all equally.
Background; (Outlander) Vreen has traveled across the vastness of space after the destruction of his tribe. After a long stint serving on a common space traders barge as a deckhand he decided to go planetside. Now he finds himself in a desert much like the one he grew up in on his homeworld. Vreen heard about the Defenders of the Pearl while wandering from outpost to outpost in the desert.
Tactics; Hide and ambush
I can post at least once a day or more if need be.
Backstory. Olin was left on the streets as a child, and when he found 3 Kobolds (Zik, Mirn, and Gad), they teamed up to survive! Olin ended up being a good leader to them, and eventually became their boss. The first thing that they stole was a Lute from a traveling minstrel! He then learned how to play it and took to street performing while the Kobolds pick-pocketed his audiences, so they gained more than he played for! He traveled, doing this for many years, learning the ways of the bard along the way! Also, since he was changeling, he could change his appearance everywhere he went as to make him hard to track! One day, he attempted to do his usual scheme at Pearl Village, when he actually got caught be the kings guards! Olin got arrested when his lackies escaped! He was in prison for a few months. When the king was looking for his soon to be "pearl defenders", he remembered the skills that Olin has, for he tried to use magic to escape the guards before his arrest. Olin also had a reputation for being a skilled thief! They decided to let Olin go, as long as he embarked on his quest! The King'd have the rest of the party keep an eye on Olin, just in case (if you'd want, DM) They also gave Olin back his things, and only the money he actually earned through his performances (Starting equipment/gold)
Optional Info:
Your character's personality. (Think similar to Loki from Marvel)
Your main attack style. Weapons, tactics, etc. Likes to use charm, and deceit to get his way, so he likes to use enchantment spells, and spells in general.
My favorite Donuts are and that are dairy free (Lactose intolerance is dumb, ik.)
