"I've been to the area with some good trackers, and aside from some supposed really big snakes, nothing unusual or helpful was found."
"They are just a bunch of local teens that can be found at the base of the falls usually. Supposedly she went deeper into the woods for, um, privacy and never returned. After searching for her they returned and reported her missing."

"At least these young ones have enough common sense to have reported her disappearance quickly,"Cariadne mutters. "Even if they committed the sin of being out without 'permission'."
"Alright, intrepid investigators, are we starting with the friends or the woods? Or something else?"
"The temple first, I think... Then the woods. The priest's disappearance is actually the most difficult to explain. The rest can be chalked up to 'lost' or an injury or some such. But what was the priest doing to get lost?" Bart tugs on his mustache thoughtfully.
"Temple it is, then. And might I say, Cariadne, you have excellent follow-up questions. The rest of you as well."
Marigold hoped that her tone didn't come across as disingenuous, as she did mean it. While she was wanting to go quickly, as time was an important factor in missing cases, she did think the added information and knowing what they would be paid would be useful. Even if she didn't have much need for gold in most cases at the moment. Marigold then paused for a moment, as a thought came along--
"Oh, and might you have a scarf or gloves of some sort of yours daughters at home? I've some animal friends, and having something to track may make it easier to pick out her direction when we follow-up on that trail."
" I know we only just met, but I think I may go down to the base of the falls to gather information. Mister Harbin, is there any seal of official business you could supply us with? Perhaps a written statement from yourself, an amulet, or anything of that nature could help us prove our case to those a little less willing to cooperate with some "hired hands"." Barbär inquires remembering that hes just a dwarf, and isnt great with convincing.
"The temple is just across the way, it's locked, but I will give you the key, just don't let that city priest in, as he keeps pressuring me to give him my keys, or let him know you have access. He may approach you if he catches you approaching the building."
"My house is the blue house with a red door 3 houses down from the church, my wife will accompany you to her room to get what you seek." He scrawls a note to his wife for you to take.
He quickly dashes off a more official looking document, affixing his sigil in wax. "This deputizes you to investigate on my behalf. I'm not sure the official seal of their friend's father is gonna get you farther than I got. I have a lot of apologizing to parents to do now as well."
"I appreciate your thoroughness in this, I feel good about our chances."

"It certainly will do the trick for now. Thank you for your time and hospitality." Barbär says with an appreciative smile and a nod as he stands up, and start to make his way for the door.
Marigold takes the note for his wife delicately, slipping it into a side pouch on her hip separate from the pouch of various herbs that sat in front of it. As Barbär begins to make his way toward the door, however, she'll call out.
"Ah, I'd recommend we work in a group, or at least pairs---just on the chance something nefarious is afoot."
Barbär hesitates. Thinking back to any of the other times he didn't listen to advice, and didn't have any support. "I'd hate to have anything bad happen to any of us. You're right. I may have been all too ready to prove my worth. Thank you for talking some sense into this thick dwarf head, dear." and shift closer to the table, still ready to investigate.

Cariadne nods and heads out the door. While waiting for the others to join her, she looks towards the temple.
(Does she notice anything untoward on the outside from here ? Anything like broken windows, broken branches near windows, anything on the ground...? perception14 She will do a closer investigation as they approach. )
Marigold shook her head, though her smile made it clear that she didn't mind his eagerness to prove himself, as he said. "Think nothing of it. Come, let's all head out then."
Following behind Cariadne, she made to try and spy the priest that the undermayor may be speaking of. Perhaps if some of them speak with them while the others search the church...
"You ok, Bart? You seem a little uneasy. Talk of the nosey priest got you bothered? I wouldn't mind talking with them myself." Barbär says as he sees a shift in demeanor from Bart
"Priests just... They're a nosy lot. If the undermayor wants him kept out, then I'll be happy to handle that." Bart looks a bit dour, but then he's not exactly full of chipper demeanor most times.
Well, the idea of avoiding the priest is thrown out the window when you are accosted by a pudgy, pasty pale human in elaborate vestments. You're taken a bit aback as outside if the largest cities, the priesthood of Anwyn favors common clothes with simple accessories of the faith, or simple well-made robes. This man is more flashy than a Bishop of Erathis!
Greetings, I am Brother Tobias, of the Church of Anwyn. I take it you have been selected by the Undermayor to look for poor Brother Randall. I weas able to get access to his dwelling on the outside of the temple and have discovered he had something fishy in his accounting, which is why I am here. I wish he was around so we could talk, but he appears to have run off, knowing I was imminent. You look like you are headed to the temple, it's locked I'm afraid, and Harbin won't give me the key. Has he given you access?
