Hi, I would like to join, but firstly what would be the expected post rate and are there any other rules or conditions we should be aware of?
I will leave my character here anyway (I wanted to play it but didn't get the chance):
Name: Alladorn
Race: Aarakocra
Class: Ranger Gloom Stalker at level 3
Backstory: Born and raised in the heart of the forest, Alladorn has always had a deep connection with nature. Most of his life was spent as a ranger, caring deeply for the woods and its inhabitants, keeping the humans at bay, but protecting those who would enrage mother nature. However, despite their love for the forest, Alladorn grew curious about the world beyond his home, wishing to see more and experience the taste of adventure.
Appearance: Alladorn is a rather burly Aarakocra, who still manages to move swiftly between the perils of the wild forest. He is just like his kin, a featherly figure that evokes the image of an eagle or a bird of prey in the minds of those who meet him. His right eye has been long lost in a fight, a story worth telling at the camp around a pleasant fire, in the company of the right people.
Backstory: Kalthur, like most wood elves, was born in the deep green forests. The son of a elven enchantress and a noble fighter, he felt the calling of the woods and a special (even for an Elf) connection to the wood. Even before the ceremony marking his adulthood, he began informal training at the hands of the ancient druid Felebron, and is thus the youngest druid for many, many ages. But lately, something has begun to pull at him, as if Nature herself has other things in mind for him. SO, he has journeyed forth from the deep forests of his "youth".
I would be interested and have the same questions as the above poster. Likewise, any race, class or feature restrictions that we should know about? How should we roll stats?
My Character Would be the following, though I do have a back up Forge domain cleric if the pool is lacking folks who can heal.
Name: Zherxus
Race: Tiefling (Zariel if allowed)
Class: Fighter, Samurai at lvl 3
Backstory: (Noble esq)
Accustomed to a more comfortable lifestyle, Zherxus grew up surrounded by aspiring warriors who looked to his mother, and her swordsmanship school to increase their skill. Although the main draw, swordsmanship wasn't the only thing taught at the school, history, the arts, etiquette and so on were all part of the curriculum and all part of Zherxus's life. Admiring those who came and went and aspiring to eventually take his mother's place as headmaster, Zherxus, trained as a student since he was old enough to hold a proper sword. When the time came for his graduation, he had three options, join the traditional army with hopes of becoming a commanding officer, use his family's connections to achieve squire status for a local knight or... adventuring. He chose the latter, for a simple reason, the greatest foes often hide beyond the reach of those who don't adventure. It's through those foes that he hopes to fine tune his martial capabilities whilst expanding on his world view in the process.
Just curious how he moves swiftly through a forest minus an eye? You lose depth perception when you only have one eye and I just imagine a bird smacking into trees T.T
Backstory: Raldin Zaith has served the Raven Queen, the goddess of life and death, faithfully for many centuries - but he did not expect what was occurring in Chult to be his next assignment. Though he did not expect it, for he assumed another high ranking Shadar-Kai would take up the call, he welcomed it and the opportunity. He gathered his belongings promptly, and set out - leaving the gloom of the Shadowfell for the light of the Prime Material.
Appearance: A man wrapped in Eastern Style clothing with a skull mask covering his face. He wears the wrappings of a sorcerer at all times, rarely removing his mask except to eat or drink - choosing to do so in private.
Personality: He has little regard for anything other than the tasks he has been set upon - moving through them and beyond them with as much precision as he can. He is mostly prone to being nonchalant about death, even among those he is close to, for he views it as their time. He feels rage at the concept of undeath.
Definitely interested, and I have a slough of published (non-UA/homebrew) characters that I could bring depending on what you are happy allow. Could you give us a little more information on what you're looking for, how you want character's built, or whether you'll recruit players then build a party from there?
I will echo here what a few others have said. I really want to play in this campaign, and I've got a slew of characters that never went anywhere that I could easily adapt for this. But, like the others, I've got questions.
What are the character creation rules you have in mind? Attributes, Race/Class, Subclass, starting level, hit points, etc.?
What is the expected posting rate?
What is the deadline for submissions to be considered?
Are you planning on implementing the Death Curse, thereby meaning that character/PC death is permanent until the curse is lifted?
Grew up on the streets having to steal to keep alive. Was forced to work for the local mage who treated him like a lab rat practicing their spells on them.
After one of the spells went drastically wrong the building burnt down. Once Wade woke up he saw his chance to escape his prison and start his own path.
On the streets life was somehow harder, not having a regular meal and being unable to trust anyone he had to steal just to feed himself. With just the scorched clothes on his back he dreams of a future where he can provide for himself.
Personality (And what scares the character) : - Personality: Has a need to steal whatever they see fit to survive in the tough world - Ideals: To be able to live in a world where he no longer needs to steal - Flaw: Does not trust others easily - Terrified of Magic
Class: Wizard (School of Abjuration at level 2, followed by a Warlock dip to grab Armor of Agathys)
Background: Folk Hero
Backstory: Beshlog was born in the frozen North, a member of a primitive tribe of Goliaths who distrusted both magic and technology. But Beshlog was not content with the life of a simple herdsman. One day, Beshlog got his chance to make a change when a strange old man wandered into the goliaths' town, seeking shelter for the night. Being a generally nice guy, Beshlog invited the old man to his own hut, and struck up a conversation. As it turned out, the hermit was a wizard, who quickly realized that Besholg had a keen and inquisitive mind. Beshlog and the wizard spoke long into the night, and in the morning the wizard left his host a parting gift... Beshlog awoke to find a spellbook sitting on his table. At that moment, Beshlog resolved to become a powerful mage just like his strange guest. He took his staff and the spellbook, then he set out to use his newfound powers for the good of the world and to learn more during his travels. His first stop is the peninsula of Chult, where he heard some strange things were happening.
Personality: Beshlog is always curious and friendly to a fault. He has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, especially regarding the arcane arts. He's a little bit sad about how his people feel towards magic, and he hopes that one day he'll be able to return and help usher in a new age.
