The clouds hang heavy and grey overhead, as you all come to rest at the foot of Firetop Mountain. Looking up toward the towering peak you start to understand its infamy. The mountain itself looks menacing. The jagged face in front of you appears to have been savaged by the claws of some titanic beast. Sharp rocky crags jut out at unnatural angles. At the top of the mountain you can just make out the vibrant red colouring that has given the mountain its name. Some sort of vegetation perhaps?
Your quest lies ahead of you. Across the clearing in which you now rest, you see a dark cave entrance leading into the side of the mountain. A well worn trail leads from it to the place where you all now stand. The first fat drops of cold rain begin to fall about you as thunder rumbles in the distance...
Sinju looks at the rather menacing cave, and says, "Well, even with darkvision, it still looks like something no one would want to go in. I see why very few even go within a mile of it."
Aedel looks around at the large mountain. "This is a lot more intimidating than I imagined it. You know, this could make a good song." He pulls a flute out of his bag and starts playing some calm music to lighten the mood, swaying slightly as he plays. He seems surprisingly calm.
"Somehow, I have my doubts that playing a flute at the evil warlock will do much to solve the current problem," Neil says with a half-smile as he pulls out his dulcimer. "Buuuut... if you need some backup for your one-man concert, I can definitely be of assistance."
Aedel stops playing. "I'm actually more focused when I'm playing, thank you. And I don't want to be stabbed. Plus, that wouldn't benefit you in this quest. And if you try to stab me, I always have this." He draws his longsword, then sheaths it again. "But let's not resort to violence. We have things to do."
Sinju gives a small smile that quickly disappears, and says, "I like you sense of humor in such times, but we cannot dilly dally any longer. Let us go on!" Sinju however tries to sneak up to the entrance
(OOC: Best to roll dice in the thread, as it's somewhere where others can actually see that you rolled the dice rather than making up a number. Just a little tip.)
"Yes, we came here for a reason. Best to make sure we're alone first." He looks around for traps or anyone watching, Perception Check 12

DM - Warlock of Firetop Mountain
Sinju looks at the rather menacing cave, and says, "Well, even with darkvision, it still looks like something no one would want to go in. I see why very few even go within a mile of it."
Tharnak looks sidelong at him and raises an eyebrow. “But just think about what’s on the other side?”
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Aedel looks around at the large mountain. "This is a lot more intimidating than I imagined it. You know, this could make a good song." He pulls a flute out of his bag and starts playing some calm music to lighten the mood, swaying slightly as he plays. He seems surprisingly calm.

“Maybe it’ll distract him for long enough for the rest of us to stab him.” He pats his shortsword and grins.

Aedel follows, trying to stay quiet. "Well, if we're being stealthy, I guess I'll stop playing the flute." Stealth 22

If you turn it sideways, there’s a little d6 Icon at the top of the text box. Click that and it should work for you.
