Rog is a half-orc, right? I wonder if he might be a relative of Bridgette's...
That could definitely work maybe a sibling or cousin and we're the last blood family each other has
Half-brother maybe? Same father and different mothers?
Sounds good. Though I don't think he broke out of jail with you guys, maybe you contacted him once you got out for extra protection.
That seems possible... maybe they came across each other by chance (say, in a bar fight) and only realized in the middle of the fight that they had the same father when they each recognized some trinket the other possessed as belonging to their own father... and, by extension, that most likely their fathers were the same man.

That could definitely work out the trinkets might be two halves of a dragons tooth split down the middle and turned into necklaces.

Wait... I think I have an even better idea... what if Rog was one of the prison guards until he went rogue after realizing that one of the prisoners was his long-lost half-sister? Presumably when he saw that she had a pendant just like his.

Hmm... I like where your head is but instead of a guard maybe a bounty hunter who picked up your trail either before or after the prison break. If before I notice you while bringing in a bounty, if after he's one of the ones hunting you until you meet and then he switches sides.

Bounty hunter... yeah, that would be great! It would make perfect sense if he found the trinket while trying to drag her in for the bounty.
This thread is fabulous. So we have a gang that formed breaking out of prison, with a corrupt lawyer/bard and a bounty hunter who switched sides when they worked out their half sister was in the gang. I love it :D
Yep, the group is looking good and your background is well fleshed out... I've been working on the battle maps for the first two encounters, going to spend a week fleshing out the first dozen encounters before I actually start running the game. I figure at that point I'll be proficient enough making the maps by then that I can do them on the fly and have a couple of maps for random encounters ready (depending if the group is taking breaks while in the campaign area.)
I'm thinking of allowing up to 8 people be part of the game.
That sounds awesome and I'm glad you're taking time to get some content laid out ahead of time. Pacing can be hard over pbp so it's nice to see that you're keeping everyone apprized of your processes.
Ravager would be happy to be a part of the gang. Perhaps someone was one of her crewmates aboard the ship, Ravager. Or she'd "borrowed" a ship's (artificers) cannon to facilitate the escape.
Species: Teifling
Class: Hexblade Warlock.
Alignment: NE, but more hedonistic and vengeful than "kill everything" evil. She'll be one of the first to advocate cooperation in the party and give examples from her crew.
Faith: She gravitates to deities of hedonism, vengence and the sea. Maybe her patron, the hexblade, but there are possible complications.
"What do I bring to the table?" the charcoal skinned, six fingered redhead asked. "I can bestow armor on the unarmored, sneak in or out invisibly, charm my foes in several ways, and...", she placed an artificers arcane cannon (?) on the table. "I can eldritch blast at 600 feet, pretty much all day."

Hey, just checking back on the thread. Any choices on who will be included? I posted this character earlier, but seems Warlock are not in short supply.
In the cold depths of a deep mountain cave, the Goliath found commune with the Shadowland. A bargain was struck in exchange for dark magic and the location of a sinister rod sleeping aside its dead master in the tunnel depths.
Sacrilege emerged from the mountain and set off to bring blasphemy and desecration to human lands.
"The problem with most gangs is leadership. It takes more than muscle and lack of morality to hold power. It takes thought; it takes planning; it takes intelligence. There are many means to bend wills.Muscle and flesh can be conjured as needed as fiends require no payment beyond pleasure of torment. With careful observation, motives can be deduced and exploited. And where plans and minions fail, Hellfire keeps the rest in line...."

"Yes, Bridgette's brother is definitely no minion. Your big sister is so proud of you... looks like someone's earned a Roggy Snack!"
Here are some updates for your characters (and I'm adding it to my starting adventure page for when we start campaigning, since I can run it again for a new group if it goes well.)
Let's make it a High Magic Campaign with double cash for 5th level - 1,500 gp, 1 uncommon & 2 common magic items to start. You use your coin to buy gear and can buy scrolls and potions (use Xanathar's for double cost of making them, since you'll have to buy them). Also, You can spend 250 gp to learn a language or a tool. Skills can not be bought this way, that is what feats, class and species/race are for.
I was asked if you guys could switch out a purchased mastiff for a wolf. Since the wolf has a better AC, Twice the Hit Dice (and twice as much hp), does nearly twice as much damage biting and Pack Tactics (Advantage attacking a creature that has another opponent), I was initially against letting you have one. But after researching I think we can go for 4 times the cost of a mastiff (100 gp or 1/2 the cost of an elephant). This is to reflect how hard it is to get a wolf and to train it vs a domesticated animal. (Thanks for the question Godofbiteme.)
We will be using alternate rule on critical hits, additional damage will be an extra MAX damage dice added to damage. Example: a longsword would do 1d8+Str Bonus + 8 hp damage on a critical. a two handed sword would be 2d6+str bonus + 12 hp damage. I believe this actually makes critical hits better, instead of potentially rolling two 1's for damage and calling that a critical hit.

I can already hear Rog after finding out she's his sister, "First person Rog tries to bring in alive turns out to be his flipping sister HAHAHA."

So I'll propose another character- Guile, the hobgoblin conjurer....
