I have been working on and off on a campaign titled "Binder's Hold" 1st-3rd level, a stand alone module for starting characters based that could be used in any world. Basically a school set up that 1st levels brand new players to teach them the basics of gaming. Part of the script was defending the town the school is based out of from raiders, which I realized that it could be converted into "What if the raid was successful and the raiders took over the town?" type of scenario. I realized that the rest campaign would work just as well with "Non-Good" or Evil characters just as well. Granted, the school's town's survivors would be prisoners and slaves now forced to service the raiding group.
I would probably need another month to get it all ready, but would probably start everyone off at 5th level and nearly any of the official races, though I'm trying to decided whether to allow legacy or just make everyone use Mordenkainen's Present: Monsters of the Multiverse. As for Homebrew in general, I'd prefer not to deal with it. (Except as a DM I may award homebrewed powers and gear. We'll discuss options if you REALLY want homebrewed options.) So the following I'd definitely allow:
Magic: The Gathering content
Eberron Content
Optional Features: both Optional Class Features and Customize Your Origin active
Feats
Multiclass Requirements
Show leveled scales spells
Ignore coin weight toggle on
Let's make it a High Magic Campaign with double cash for 5th level - 1,500 gp, 1 uncommon & 2 common magic items to start.
Feel free to add any comments and suggestions
Note : this is just a post to see if anyone is interested in playing a non-good oriented game, this may take a while to actually set up, but feel free to post your character to show it off in the meantime.
In addition to character creation, use the standard 15,14,13,12,10,8 stats then add +2 to all them, plus racial bonuses, so you actually start off with 17,16,15,14,12,10.
Made a change to the character creation set up, basically set up a a standard character with +2 to all stats after you are done (17,16,15,14,12,10 stats)
Just seeing if people would be interested, FlecheDeToutBois. I am giving people the opportunity to post non good characters... if I get enough people interested, I'll see about starting a game :)
I've played in several "non-good" games. One was so far gone that the worse PC cut up the NPCs to make jerky. The ones I preferred were more "realistic". Pulling heists, visiting broth-els, assassinating & stuff.
Kind of hoping for the type you prefer... glad you brought it up... may want to keep the Chaotic Evil (and Perhaps the Chaotic Neutral) alignment a wide berth... but that's why I'm working it out beforehand before actually committing to a game. Also, the group will be working for more powerful people, who would frown upon "random damage" types.
Though I was thinking of having one of the bosses be a necromancer. They would get introduced get to Necromancer boss by a rival while he was using the spell Vampiric Touch on captives to heal up after an assassination attempt. Basically, think Evil Oligarchy with lots of backstabbing among the higher ups and the characters navigating their way, trying to avoid getting too much of the wrong type of attention paid to them.
I have a lawful evil death cleric in my back pocket that I made for a game that never went. From a noble house - part-courtier, part-operative, very much a political animal.
I made a copy and rebuilt her with the +2 stats, wahoo: Maya Ixtab
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
DM: The Sunless Citadel, Candlekeep Mysteries, Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Death House (One-Shot) Player:B'Etor(Lost Mine of Phandelver), Sunfyre Fields (Tide of Retribution), Annika Fedorovna(Inustwaith - Blizzard's Fury)
Hmmm... I have a half-orc Sorcerer (Shadow Magic)/Warlock (The Undead) who might fit a campaign like this. I would say her alignment is probably either Lawful or True Neutral rather than evil (though she is almost fanatically devoted to her lich patron because he saved her from a life of slavery and she would probably do just about anything he asked of her).
The girl had the black skin and six fingers that marked her as a descendent of Grazztz. Her tail was about 5 ft long, slender, blunt and prehensile. She signed aboard the Ravager when she was a teen, anything to escape the stares of the town that left her without love for it. She hadn't chosen a name yet, and just went with the name her parents gave her.
As long as she pulled her weight, she was accepted by the crew. She rose to the rank of navigator. It didn't take long to realize the Ravager was a pirate ship. And she was ok with that. If you didn't fight, they'd let you live. Of course, they ravaged the ships wealth and a few of the passengers, but you sail and take your chances.
Then a rival captain betrayed them. The fleet caught up with them, and the Ravager lost the battle. Many were lost, some were caught and hanged and a few (including her) escaped. And now she had a name. Ravager.
Back on shore she sought vengence. And a voice whispered to her, offering power in exchange for service. She accepted.
I was the forever dm to a group that always wanted to play evil characters. Usually started them on a plane of hell in which case it didn't really matter. Everyone was evil and they stuck together for self-preservation. Hardest issue is preventing infighting when people don't have a good motivation. I advise not to allow players to attack each other, steal from each other, or maybe even excessively exert persuasion or intimidation (as it creates functional loss of control of your character to another character).
If it is only going to be a short game though, maybe it doesn't matter. But understand hard feelings would probably be had.
I have a NE/CE Bard inspired by a character from metalacalypse that I want to play. College of Glamour most likely might want a little flavor around their instruments, but otherwise should fit in well
For a while, I've had the concept of a mercenary group of (mostly) goblinoids called "The Dirty Tactics". They be recurring NPC criminals-for-hire or an "evil-friendly" PC crew. Any one of these would be fun to play out:

What degree of non-good did you have in mind?
