Hunin Leaving the tents and not being able to see more than five feet in front of him thinks to himself "OHHH SHIT" Hunin will Call out to see if anyone is still in the immediate area around him. Trying to search the tents to see if anyone is still there or if the tents were still there.
investigation: 10
After not finding anything. Hunin will have no choice but to try and pick a direction and go and seek shelter.
About tents: Gendan, Elsara and Val: did you take your tents down before going to look for shelter? If not, will you try to find your way back to the campsite to before heading to Runt's location?
Hunin, in the heavy rain you wander off in search of the others. Unfortunately you are going in the opposite direction and you don't know it. You keep walking until you find a different tree standing in the middle of nowhere.
(Wait, if Elsara doesn't have a tent, how has she been spending the nights?)
Okay forget what I said, everyone gets a free tent. No need to add that to your character sheet, you just have it because you got it at some point from Catherine. Everyone has a tent but it is their choice whether or not they pitched it. I am assuming Elsara didn't? If so, how was she spending her nights without the tent?
Well I'd basically assumed Elsara was sleeping in the back of the cart with her blanket and bedroll. Most adventurers she has heard of don't carry tents as standard.
If we do have tents, then hooray! In which case she would try and get the tents stowed in the cart before they move out (if I need to roll anything for that, let me know).

(I had always assumed that Gendan sought shelter near trees if weather was inclement. A 2-person tent is 20lbs by SRD, Gendan is willing to carry one or two if you're looking for a little more gritty realism, which is I think what you've gone for with the weather aspect of this campaign.)
About tents: Gendan, Elsara and Val: did you take your tents down before going to look for shelter? If not, will you try to find your way back to the campsite to before heading to Runt's location?
(If you rule that we've all had tents pitched:) Gendan leaves the tent since the storm rolled in so abruptly and makes her way to Runt.
I have but in my case, DM Convenience > Realism. Also the tents are magical and therefore weightless. You got them from the Guild. Each tent can accommodate one person but you can cram in two if you really really tried.
As for the tents, it's up to you whether or not your character would be the type to use one since you were all given a free magic tent.
Elsara, assuming she tried to take her tent down when the wind kicked in (before going off with Val to look for shelter) roll Sleight of Hand with proficiency (regardless of whether or not you are proficient in SoH)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You try your best to carefully take your tent down but the wind causes it to fly at you. Make a DEX save or take 6 Bludgeoning damage. Also your tent flew away. Don't worry, Catherine can give you another one later.
Once he gets Hunin gets to the tree he will try and secure himself to the tree using his rope and then take his two daggers out and stab those in to the tree to use as a hold to keep him close should the wind kick up more. He will just hang out there and wait for the storm to pass over and just hope he makes it through it.

Hunin, the sky flashes bright and you see the a blue bolt of lightning strike something in the distance. The world is now dark again save for a small glow of a burning fire in the distance. Something was hit by lightning and is now burning. You are reminded that lightning always strikes the tallest thing around in a given location and that can be quite dangerous since you are in plain lands with most things being no taller than a bush. Are you sure you want to stay stuck to the tree?
Val, Gendan and Elsara also see the same thing but from a different angle.
Runt, what will you do in the 1 minute that it would take the two and a half elves to get to you?
(well i rolled a six survival and when hunin went searching for shelter and found a tree, Even knowing that it could get hit by lightning he found the tree and has tied himself in. About to ride some lighting I guess.)

Runt will keep telling for that minute to try to get her teams attention. Assuming I cant see them, after about a minute I retreat into the hole for shelter.

Elsara will attempt to get the horses safely into the shelter (assuming there is space). She prioritises them as she believes that they are in her care while they have rented them and the cart, so would never want anything to happen to them.

Runt, after a minute all of your teammates with the exception of Hunin arrive. The hole is in the open so it provides no protection from the rain but it does provide decent enough protection from the strong winds. Assuming Val is helping Runt pitch her tent (thus negating the disadvantage and turning the roll from a failure to a success), Runt will have the tent up in about a minute.
Elsara, there is shelter in the hole but the horses are reluctant to go in. Make Animal Handling roll (+2 Bonus)
Gendan, you realize that you guys can all fit in two tents (though it will be a cramped). Val still has his rolled up tent with him. What do you do.
The sky lights up again and another bolt of blue lightning comes down from the sky and hits something and causes it to burn too. You guys don't know this but the thing that was hit was Hunin's tree. Hunin, since you tied yourself to it, I don't see any way you could avoid getting hit (I would have called for a DEX save but tying your self to the tree made you auto fail it). You take 16 Lightning Damage + 6 Fire Damage

Val wasn't even unfolding his, as usual he likes to sleep under the stars so they could use his once they get to the hole.
