Berry managed to stench his bleeding and found that his wounds are largely flesh wounds that didn’t hit anything vital. After the short rest he felt good, perhaps even a little better than before. He didn’t care to partake in the goblins’ interrogation and only learnt afterwards that they had told them everything they came to learn and more.
“I agree, we should return to Phandalin but I imagine the remaining goblins moved the loot out of their cave. Perhaps they use it to live on that for a while or they use it as a buy in into another tribe. I don’t really know how they work but I think we won’t find anything there worth the trouble. Still, if you’d like we can check it out, I don’t mind.” He shakes his head in low spirits, “I really don’t know how we bring the news to Gundren’s brothers. I guess it is better that the black spider wanted him alive than dead but I can’t stop feeling like we let them down.”
For the second time today, Berry packs up to depart from their shelter.
Kiselina spends a part of the short rest in prayerful meditation. He seems different when he finishes his obligations. He can’t quite put his finger on it, but figures it’s just part of the renewed energy he feels.
We should get Sildar back to Phandalin safe 'n' sound so that he can get a proper rest and start to heal. Then m'ybe we can return to the cave tomorrow or the next day to see whether the goblins left behind anything valuable in the caves. I saw stacks of boxes and barrels in Klarg's chamber yesterday, but we only found a few coppers on the bodies today. They must have left most of their supplies and stolen goods in the cave. But we should keep our victory over Klarg and his lot quiet at first. We don' want some prospector from Phandalin to find the cave and clear it out before we get back there."
“Getting Master Sildar back to Phandalin is a wise decision. But going after the goods in the cavern…I have reservations about keeping those for ourselves. We’d need a cart or wagon to move all those supplies. Plus, there are merchants whose livelihoods are invested in those goods. Some of them may have paid with their lives and their families deserve compensation.”
“We should get Sildar back to town. There, we could resupply ourselves and coordinate to escort a wagon and team to secure the goods at the Cragmaw Cavern. Perhaps Barthen and his crew could handle that. Once the goods are on the wagon and headed back to town, we could venture further to the Cragmaw Castle and see about Gundren’s rescue?”
“If the group feels differently however, I will assist as I may.”
”Thank you Vidruth, for your tactful way of gathering the information.”
Daphyra nods in agreement with Kiselina. "Yes, if the goblins have left anything behind, it belongs to those they stole it from. That is a good idea to let Barthen and his crew know."
After this last battle, Daphyra feels more attuned to the Cat Goddess's powers. She feels like she will be able to do more to support her team in the next battle, and this thought keeps her back straight and her ears at attention as she prepares to head back to Phandalin.
"My vote is to head back to the cave after a brief stop in town. Keepin' our mouths closed about it all is a must. When we headin' out and does anyone need help carryin' anything?"
Nosam is ready to go when the crew is ready. A town visit is needed for everyone and he's looking forward to the return to the cave.

Vidruth bot#2 (Warning! You are in danger of AVAHD). Vidruth nods assent. A chill breeze flows over the wizard, making him shiver from head to toe. Looking for the source, he finds none. He shakes it off and joins the others.
Berry can fly straight up a thousand feet or so, and from that height, ascertain that the Triboar Trail is a few miles south of you. You head that way. You see no further signs of the goblins that fled.
Your captives remain with you, led by Vidruth.
Sildar seems relieved to be heading to Phandalin. His recent injuries smother any urge to speak, however. Indeed he does not look at all well, although he keeps up with you.

Following a deer path, you are walking on the edge of a bog, not for from the Triboar Trail, when Marten and Berry, in the lead, suddenly see a lone boar on the path, charging directly toward Marten, snorting wildly as it breaks through the low-hanging branches and foliage of a weeping willow tree directly ahead.
The party has the initiative.
Marten knows that boars, once provoked, are tenacious fighters. Not much chance of calming one down or avoiding it once it's starting to charge. He shouts, "Boar!" so that the others behind him know what's coming as he pulls a goblin arrow from his quiver.
Marten tries to remain calm and focused in the face of the charging beast, aiming for a killing shot. As soon as he looses an arrow, he dashes back toward the rest of the party, saying, "Boar. Charging boar." He tries to step past the fighters who are behind him in line (Nosam? Kiselina?). He's trying to get at least one of his companions with armor or a shield in between him and the boar.
Movement: up to 60' of movement (with cunning action), moving back and through the fighters' space to end up somewhere in the middle of the marching order Action: Attack, Shortbow (80/320): 5 Damage: 18 Bonus Action: Cunning Action, Dash Free Action: Talking
The boar survives Vidruth’s blue-tinted bolts of force, though it stumbles and rolls when they strike it, causing Marten’s shot to slice the air over it rather than hit it squarely. Without losing momentum, the muscular beast rights itself and continues its charge with a loud snort.
“Huh,” Berry lets out in played surprise, “One of the Triboars, that the trail got its name from, I bet.”
He then draws his scimitar and approaches the boar carefully trying to dodge any incoming attack. He hopes that some of his companions from behind can take care of the beast while he is engaged in melee.
Kiselina armed with his halberd, steps around Nosam, lets Marten pass, then closes the distance ending behind Berry. He reaches out to strike at the boar as Berry draws its attention. Action: Attack Boar (To Hit: 19, Damage: 12). Move: As above. Reaction: Impose Disadvantage on Boar attack if it chooses a different party member than Berry AND if that member is within 5’. “Protector Fighting Style”
The boar charges directly into Kiselina’s halberd and as it grinds onto the polearm, its tusks come within an inch of Berry’s belly, then stop. It tilts over and falls dead, nearly sliced in half by the dragonborn's blade.
Marten and Daphyra now hear a buzzing, flapping sound in the near distance and perceive what the boar was fleeing from at a dead run: Stirges! You’ve all seen them before. They look like a cross between a large bat and an oversized mosquito. Its legs end in sharp pincers, and its long, needle-like proboscis slashes the air as it seeks to feed on the blood of living creatures!
The round continues as does the rain!
You are now situated like so:
Daphyra and Nosam may still take their turns.

Daphyra had been looking at Sildar with concern as Vidruth spoke to her, and she moves to check him out more closely. As she does so, she looks up to see the boar being dispatched and hear the stirges coming closer. She pauses for a moment, torn between healing Sildar and dispatching some of the threat, and casts Sleep, trying to knock out as many as possible.
As one, the bat-insect wings of the stirges shiver and then the tension goes out of them. The tiny beasts are charmed to sleep, and flop into the bog, or onto the path. When they do, they take 1hp damage from their fall or from inhaling water, and awaken once more. They are all grounded at this moment with 1 HP.
Nosam’s turn! Battle map is the same.

Nosam sees the boar and begins advancing towards Berry, unfortunately he missed out on all the action. "Too slow yet again, nice work anyways guys."Looking ahead further south Nosam asks the group if he should lead the advancement along side Berry. "Should we go ahead and take out the little buggers?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Round 1 Results (final)
Nosam moves forward to E10. We can say he is dodging as he awaits instructions from the others.
The Stirges now flap buzzingly aloft again, the first two (S1 & S3) flying to D11 and E11 respectively, a few feet above ground, where their long proboscises suddenly stretch out and, as the creatures flutter all around Berry and Nosam, they attempt to latch onto the dodging pair at disadvantage.
S1 Blood Drain - Berry 8 to hit / 4 piercing damage.
S3 Blood Drain - Nosam 7 to hit / 4 piercing damage.
The rest sense fresh blood and swarm toward the party, engaging Kiselina, Marten, one of the goblins, (G2), Vidruth, and Sildar, a chaos of high shrieking sounds like nails on a chalkboard, fluttering wings, and tiny claws and teeth moving unpredictably up and down, back and forth, trying to find traction on exposed skin.
The Stirge heading to Sildar (S7) is the first that passes within Kiselina’s reach. Kiselina may make an attack of opportunity vs. AC14. If he hits, the creature (1HP) dies and @Kohlmetz may narrate how Kiselina dispatches the little bloodsucker.
You are now situated like so:
If Kiselina hits S7, then ignore it on the map.
Kiselina should make his AoO first, then everyone may post their Round 2 actions in any order. The Stirges are AC14 and 1HP. If you hit, you may narrate their demise.
The swarm of stirges awaken as they hit the ground, maybe a little disoriented but still just as determined. They move to each member, hungry for a fresh meal. Kiselina swipes at s7 as it flutters on by, his eyes focused, “have to protect those in the rear” he thinks. (To Hit: 24) The halberd swings overhead and squishes the tiny beast into the bog. Weather from the impact of the polearm or from being submersed in the water maters not. But the ground sucks at the weapons head, and the knight can’t get it back up in time to slash at the closing pest (To Hit: 13). The oversized mosquito lands on the shaft, just within reach of the Dragonborn.
Round 2 (Reaction) Protection Fighting Style (Disadvantsge) if s2 attacks anyone other than Kiselina within 5’ of him. Or AoO if s2 moves out of 10’ reach.
Berry avoids the stirge that came for him, he's not too eager to offer his blood, and now he understands what drove the boar towards them. 'Perhaps, they shouldn't have killed the poor creature. It tried to escape from one threat, only to find its end in another way. Luck can be a bloody ...,' he thinks to himself. Nothing can be done for the stirges, though, they must be dealt with or they will finish the party in their primal thirst. Berry draws his shortsword in addition to his scimitar and attacks the two nearest recklessly.
Move: None Free: reckless attack Action: Scimitar to hit: 23 Bonus: Shortsword to hit: 20
Berry's blade cuts right through one stirge (s1) and splits it in half. Then he lunges sidewards and skewers a second one (s3) with his short sword. The stirge still flaps sporadically while Berry waves his shortsword to release the dead pest from his weapon.
vidruth looks at the stirges near him and rapidly considers his options, he could kill three of them with a spell, but the party looks to have it well in hand, and he expects there to be more fighting later and it wouldnt be good to spend more power than he needs to now, only to die later because oof it, he hopes it doesnt turn out to have been necessary to cast it.
his finger twitches and with a word the same small bolt of fire he has been using so often flies out at a stirge, but with so many so close to him one darts at him and his aim goes wide
(attack 12 with disadvantage, rolled twice bc i forgot disadvantage on the first roll)
