I concur that I at least would not be well received and possibly stir up even more trouble. Makes me think ill of this town that they have TWO such temples and such a backwards view on non-humans.
Kragen, Chadwick and Gneuman head off for the Seven Sails Inn. It is easy to find given that it is across the street from the water tower on this side of the river known as the Needle. It is a building of unique construction. It rises three floors high and is in the shape of a dorsal fin of a shark. There are many windows on the upper floor with flower filled window boxes at each window.
It is midday. People have stopped in for business talks and a drink. Food is not normally served in their common room. Prices are a bit higher here. The other patrons all appear to be well off. You are definitely standing out a bit.
Wait for the guys we were eavesdropping on to finish up.
Thank you. If you think of any other information, please leave any messages for us with Taurik at the Dancing Dolphin. Hopefully, we will be back soon with good news.
Hold, unless you have others, I have one more question
We have heard strange talk of things roaming the docks at night. Maybe stories among sailors. But we are not ruling anything out just yet. Have you heard of anyone trustworthy or otherwise who claims to have seen any such thing?
The man behind the counter looks back to Trolkarl. “There’s a bit of truth in every sailor’s story,” he replies with a half smile. “I didn’t get your name? I’m Dimmick, assistant to the Harbor Master.”
The Seven Sails Inn has a smallish, but pleasantly furnished common room. Well carved furniture of good craftsmanship fill the room. Small and medium sized tables with comfortable chairs, that have cushions. It is not a place you would expect to see a bar fight break out. You are greeted as you enter the door by a serving woman and sent to a table along the wall. There are two other tables attended to currently. An older sailor in good clothes is meeting with another human male dressed as you would expect a wizard to are in the far corner talking closely over flagons. Closer to you are three merchants discussing local trade loud enough to overhear.
The serving lady comes over. “What’ll ye be drinking’ then?”
If any of those sailor's stories or other whispers of foul play make their way to you, do let us know. We are working to unravel this mystery together.
More sailors and a captain enter the building. "I will look for you at the Dancing Dolphin if anything turns up," Dimmick says and then returns to helping the clerks with their duties.
I try tp discretely take a table in proximity of the pair in which one looks like a wizard. They appear noteworthy. The intent would be enter into small talk with Chadwick and Gneuman while maybe picking up some loose talk from that table.

The two men have their discussion and finish. The mage leaves. After a short time the other stands to leave and drops a few platinum coins on the table. Their conversation was quiet and you did not gain much trying to listen in.
You can get your drinks paid for by leaving some coin on the table. A bit steep at 5sp each here. But, it is the nicer of the Inns and common rooms in town. They are advertising with bills on the door that a bard will be there tonight performing.
Following the suspected mage is fairly easy. He is not avoiding be tailed at all. He makes his way past the Needle to the docks on the south side of town. From there he crosses the bridge to Closeguard Island and Kurth Tower. Guards block access to the bridge, and seem serious about it. You are able to see your quarry continue walking across a second bridge in into the keep of the Arcane Brotherhood on Cutlass Island.
Just left the Harbor Master's office. It is mid-afternoon.
Chadwick, Kragen & Gneuman
Just finished following the suspected wizard to the shoreline on the south side of the city. He walked into the keep of the Arcane Brotherhood. It is mid-afternoon.

I'm not too familiar with these temples, but they don't sound too inviting for non-believers. I'm all for heading for the Seven Sails.

To the serving lady
“3 pints of your deep dark pale ale, please.”

Perception = 2 ( Nat 1 )
The two men continue their conversation in low tones. You are unable to pick up anything meaningful from what you hear.
Chadwick will also try and listen in.
/Is there a way we can send a perception role?

If the wizardly-looking chap leaves, I would suggest that we follow him.

I will go to the Seven Sails for the bard performance.
(( You and Trolkarl are not with the other three so do not yet know of this. ))
I will go back to the inn where we started.
