OOC: is it dark enough that Thea could sneak attack it. She has been walking under the relative cover of night, so her eye's are (hopefully) adjusted. If so, that is an extra 6 damage on the second attack, since the second attack hit.

"Very well, we can venture inland rather than around the shores. You speak good sense, William, that we should attempt to view the entire island from high ground if we can get to one of the mountains. As for taking time to fashion a shield, we should wait for Thea in any case. Or perhaps go after her?"
Seri herself helps Kairouani build up the fire as the Igneri woman had suggested.

William paused his carving. 'She's gone?' He asked as he only now realised that Thea was indeed missing. 'We are on unfamiliar grounds: nobody should be wandering off on their own.'
He looked both ways down the coastline. 'Does anyone know which way she went?'
Seri wonders if the Igneri huntress is perhaps not feeling well. She reaches out to Trondro, hoping it is not some sickness affecting Kairouani.
"You are right,Elder Sister, there are Thea's tracks along the sand. In truth, I saw her depart early this morning. I am sorry I did not think to stop her."
Movement: Thea will turn to the crab and advance on it.
Main Action: as the crab rears up to attack, she will drive her daggers up and under into its soft flesh. (8 to hit, 7 Pierce damage)
Bonus Action: dagger attack (24 to hit, 6)
The bonus action is 2 damage, not 6 (thanks Tybard)
Thea's first strike glances off the great beast's chitinous shell, twisting awkwardly in her grasp as it does so. Her second strike, though, with her off hand, finds softer flesh and pierces it. Life snuffed out, the creature slumps to the sand and lies still. It looks strangely peaceful, and all Thea can hear over the thudding of her heart is the breeze ruffling the broad palm leaves above her head and the breakers rolling up the shore.
Seri saw which direction Thea departed in, which of course makes it far easier to locate her tracks in the sand, among the rest of the marks that had been made by the five of you over the last 24 hours. She looks west, to where the giant turtles had been seen yesterday, and where the footprints in the sand disappear into the distance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I feel that is quite enough bloodshed for now. Poor thing, why did it attack me?" Thea wonders aloud, cleaning her daggers on a dirty hankerchief embriodered with the seal of her former family. With that, she walks back the way she came, remembering to take stock of her surroundings to hopefully gain any information she can about the islands geography (perception: 13)

Thea returns to view shortly after everyone has arisen and set about their day. The sky is lightening as she retraces her footsteps along the beach, but all the dawn reveals is more beach and more jungle. Well, almost all. She does spot a rather magnificent conch shell lying in the sand, but nothing more.
Thea picks up the conch shell, admiring it. "I feel as if we should explore more of the island today. I'd like to know whether their is an earth titan worshiped by halflings sleeping under this island, waiting to awaken."

"Earth titan worshipped by halflings..." Seri echoes Thea, trailing off uncomfortably, wondering if such things are common in Aseri lore.
"William suggested we explore inland and perhaps try to scale one of the peaks so we may view the entire island from above. I believe we can leave as soon as he is finished fashioning his wooden shield, much like mine here, only without Trondro's mark." She points proudly at her driftwood buckler with a holy symbol of Trondro etched onto it, a shield which appears to have made it through the storm miraculously unscathed.
She turns back to Thea. "Where did you go? Along the shore? Did you find anything? Other than the lovely conch dwelling, I mean. I admit, I saw you go this morning, and took my own underwater swim beneath the waves of this lagoon to explore, finding nothing unexpected."
Besides the beauty that always resides in Trondro's domain.
"I traveled along the shore in hopes of... scouting more of the island. I found an unusually belligerent giant crab, which I had to slay. So yes, you could say I've been active. An underwater swim sounds very nice. William's suggegstion is a fine one."

Hi, I'm Raccoon_Master, a young genderfluid actor, writer, explorer, and bass vocalist. Pronouns They/Them/Theirs
My Characters: Brorminthe Devout Crusher; Morgrom the Cunning Summoner;Theathe Rebellious Beauty;
Your preparations complete, you venture forth into the cool darkness of the jungle. Following the tracks of the giant turtles, you find them a short way inside the treeline, dug into the sandy soil in what appears to be a nest. They eye you impassively as you pass. You soon lose sight of the column of smoke from your fire, built up with green leaves before you left, and you world reduces to a few feet around you as the lush undergrowth closes in.
The coolness was in comparison to the dry heat of the sun on the open beach. As you make your way further in, however, the moist, oppressive heat begins to build. It is exacerbated by the physical effort required to move through the thick growth. You have to push past branches, climb over roots, and slash at tangling vines. The clinging plants pull you back, slowing your progress to a crawl and sapping your energy. Even Kairouani, more familiar than the others with moving through dense jungle, is blowing hard after a while.
The denizens of this landscape are built to traverse its byways. You see them fleetingly. The flash of a white tail here, a glimpse of a monkey scampering through the branches above your head there. Centipedes as big as a person's forearm scuttle across your path and dragonflies dart and hover around you whilst biting flies find exposed flesh to torment. But humans and humanoids were not made for this. You don't have the wings, clinging feet or prehensile tails necessary to easily navigate the wild tangle. So you sweat, and toil, and hack at the plants and force your way further and further into their domain. Your waterskins soon run low as you try to replace the moisture escaping through your skin at quite a rate.
The land slopes upward, adding further burden to your pounding hearts and heaving lungs as you grasp root or vine to haul yourselves ever upward toward the summit that you seek.
You travel in this manner for most of the morning. Through the odd gap in the canopy you see the sun reaching its zenith in the sky. Then, without warning, the canopy disappears and you are bathed in its full heat once more. You have emerged onto the edge of a rocky canyon. 100ft below you at the bottom of a sheer rockface is a river, tumbling and splashing over jagged rocks. Opposite you, maybe 60ft away and on a similar level, is a similarly steep rock face with vines and roots emerging from crevices here and there. To your left and right you see the canyon continue, curving away from you until it is out of sight. The summit that you are heading for is visible straight ahead, as the land continues to rise on the far side of the gap.
Can I have either a nature or survival check from everyone please?
Also, I need to know what you did with the supplies and the box of documents down on the beach.

The first one misses, but that second attack does the job. Feel free to describe the death of the giant crab, or if you prefer I can do it tomorrow.
William paused his carving. 'She's gone?' He asked as he only now realised that Thea was indeed missing. 'We are on unfamiliar grounds: nobody should be wandering off on their own.'
He looked both ways down the coastline. 'Does anyone know which way she went?'

" I think I swallowed too much seawater yesterday.....might have salted my innards...", she grins as Seri easily finds the trail.

" Giant crab would be nice but the meat will spoil quickly in the sun and we've no way to preserve it currently."
" At least it might keep shore scavengers away from our camp for a day or two."
" Inland then? Following the turtle track?"

Kairouani Nature- 20
( She essentially ignored the documents and other than making sure the supplies were buried in the sand near the tent had little to do with them.)
Ok, wow, that is incredibly well-written. that is coming from someone who reads fiction a ton and is a bit of critic when it comes to writing.
Since most of Thea's skin is exposed due to the heat and her... breezy outfit, she is soon covered in various welts and bites
Thea pocketed at least a bottle or two of rum, she has kind of a problem. As for the rest of the supplies, she left that to others.
Once the party reaches the canyon, Thea will scamper up a tree in hopes of seeing a way across.
Acrobatics: 12
Survival: 9
