With a dull wheeze, the last of the party's attackers is shredded among pointed shards of his dead ally, falling to the ground in a crumpled heap. The battle is over, but not without cost. Gregory is dead. Lelantus lies wounded and unconscious. And Thaux...
In that moment, Korbiña remembers what Lelantus was doing when he was struck. An ally is unaccounted for.
[Whoever ends up checking the bushes -- if you check the bushes -- for the lizard, roll either Perception or Investigation / whichever you think you've a better chance with.]
What she finds are signs of a struggle: scattered leaves, torn cloth, and a series of thin needles embedded in the surrounding trees. A strange viscous green fluid dribbles from their tips. Alongside the stench of feces, she also smells something sickly sweet in the scene.
[@Korbiña Anything you want to investigate?]
[By the way, the rest of you are free to loot bodies. No rolling required. There's not much, but anything helps. Bob, I'll let you know when Lelantus can wake up. He won't be battle-ready when he does.]

Korbiña calls out
"Thaux was overwhelmed with poison and abducted! As much as I would vote for trying to reach safety he can't be far yet"
Korbiña crouches down, scratching a horn... if Thaux was unconscious and dragged away, thete must be quite obvious tracks drsgging him over ground has left, or many small deep footprints if he was carried away...
Investigate to look for these tracks and anything that Thaux might have lost: 14
Tracks are everywhere, none of them Thaux's. You can't tell where they go, only that they came out this way, too. That suggests he was captured before the attack even started. Did they wait until someone was separated to attack? Wait... What one of the kobolds had said suddenly clicks. "Lizard... progress..."Shortly after that, the horn blew and they left. This was planned. Are they slavers? Pirates?
As she adjusts her stance, eager to start another fight to find their friend, Korbiña feels the wound on her belly open again.
[Of course, you're welcome to go after him immediately. Maybe Quartz or Asher can follow the tracks, assuming you find any. That said, I feel like I wouldn't be a good DM if I didn't point out how fucked up the party is right now. Those little guys really did a number on you all. Regardless, it's your choice and I'll go along with whatever you guys choose.]

The creatures didn't carry much. Asher finds several cp, and a few dozen sp. No gold. There's a few pieces of dried fruit in the pocket of one. Not much else. But... oh.
He does, however, find an interesting dagger on one of them. The blade itself is curved, and the pommel appears to be decorated like a viper's head. The blade, however, appears stuck in it's sheath. Several scratches along the hilt suggest the blade's last owner had little luck in drawing it. Maybe there's a trick to it...
Korbiña emerges from the bush, stumbles and only keeps upright by leaning on her staff.
"She raises an eyebrow as she perceives the kobold rising from the dead, but says nothing
"So, what will it be? Withdraw to what might be a safe place or try to catch up with Thaux if anyone is able to follow their tracks? I can only say where it happened, but there's too much trampled to say anything more specific"
It's not that we oemwe a debt to Thaux. Still, if it wad any one kf us, we'd hope someone would come find us, presumably. I just dint know what good it woukd do any if us, or him for thst matter, to find whatever took him in the state we're in now.
" i recommend we take a moment to treat our wounds, and then search for our missing comrade , unless one of you wants to try and take our dead freind over there and find some sort of civilization where he can be brought back ," asher looks at his zombie " brought back properly '
Korbiña nods to Quartz and Asher "I agree. Can someone cope with carrying Gregory? If yes, we should try to find that safe place from the sign."
She crosses the clearing and starts into the driction indicated by the sign, but looks back to wait for a moment if someone picks up Gregory's corpse...
Quartz follows Korbiña's eyes to the spot where lay Gregory's lifeless body. He shuts his eyes as he sughs, facing the matter he wished he could avoid, hoping he'd snap awake and find it had all been a dream, that Gregory was alive and standing g beside them with his trademark carefree smile. But that was a dream, and this cold reality hit him in the face as he sees his twisted unnaturally posed body laying in the mud. "He deserves better, but this will have to do." Quartz, with his huge hands, snaps a branch of green wood from the bush beside him, still brimming with verdant foliage and tosses it as far as he can. "We csnt be too careful, and there are scavengers that will come for the body, then follow us. We can't afford that while we've already got to face whatever out there. Whatever took Thaux."
With that, he casts druidcraft on the green branch and starts a small fire. 'We have to burn tbe body." He says, somberly.
"He was a friend of yours? Maybe you want to take something personal back to his family? ... and ... as hard as it sounds... maybe he has some equipment that might become vital to us?"
She turns to Asher
"Or could you do again what you did to the kobold? Then he can follow us... he won't start smelling that quickly..."
Korbiña sighs and rubs her eyes. burning a body will take hours and I'm afraid that stench is difinitely going to draw some scavengers... plus collecting enough wood to get the fire hot enough takes us another hour... burrying might be quicker... but the kobolds will also start smelling... or worse the other other kobolds might want to burry their dead too...
But Korbińa, instead of saying all this, just shrugs and says "do as you wish" and turns to look around for a nice flat stone or a log where she can sit and tend to her wounds in some way...
" if we can find a town there may be a prist that can bring him back as long as he hasent rotted to far. if we burn him than that will be that and he will be gone for good"
"i could rase him in place of the kobold and have it follow us, i just dont usually rase friends , "
[ooc] if i rase him and bring him with us i can cancel the spell when we get to town if thats allowed

[You can raise him if you want, but I'll let you all know now -- Jylek isn't coming back, so Gregory would be revived as an extra, to follow one of you around. He's part cleric, so if he does come back, it could be as a designated healer. But that's for you all to decide.]

Korbiña hastes over to the bush where Thaux had disappeared to ... be private...
