I've got an Air Genasi Artificer, Thomas Aero, using the Standard Array. He's a learned Alchemy aspirant, but dabbles in conventional smithing as well. As an orphan of war, his fascinations lie specifically in peace, albeit by any means necessary. If another war is on the horizon, his efforts will be geared entirely towards its swift end.
You can still use the Standard Array if you want, i'm not super fussed about ability score generation. Although i know some people like to roll and stick to their scores.

Out of curiosity, which day were you thinking of starting this? Got some ideas floating in my head. (Halfling Warlock [oops all warlocks], dwarf wild magic sorcerer, and wood elf druid.) Just need to check a few things though.
I'm creating a human hexblade adventurer, a woman cursed by her family inheritance of her late father's cursed sword picking her as its next wielder. She is struggling with the power it offers her but wishes to do good in the world.
A halfling monk who feels that a combination of commitment, discipline, and the synergy between mind and body is the only way to survive the chaos that surrounds us.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alrighty. Got the two options I'll go for. Pretty even on them. (Both have interesting things to me that I'd like to try out.)
Question (should've asked this sooner): Are you okay if we use the homebrew system to copy official material? (So no original homebrew. There's some official spells I don't have on DDB that I've got copies of made via the homebrew. So just wondering if those are fine or if you'd prefer to stick with what DDB coded.)
Ability scores: 131314141312
//may as well roll to see what comes up, but good chance I'll just go standard array
Also, as a heads up, this weekend is busy. (So if it starts between late Friday - Sunday, might not get much in at the start.)
Name: Cherry Littleoak Race: Lightfoot Halfling Background: Haunted One Class: Warlock (Archfey) Sheet:https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/119139050/Y8ltgv Backstory: Cherry lived a rather cheerful life. She had a good husband. Loving kids. A wonderful community. All told she was rather blessed. That is, until one of the horrors plaguing Toh'Riel came to town. Worst day of her life. She may have survived, gods know how, but she was alone. She went to the woods in mourning and made a pact with an archfey. Since then her goal is to never let what happened to her happen to others. And she's ready to team up with others and join them in a quest. Other Notes: The personality I see for her kind of fits the halfling hick idea somewhat. Rough on the edges, friendly to the party. Name: Draíocht Race: Wood Elf Background: Hermit Class: Druid (Circle of Moon at lv2) Sheet:https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/119139068/29Sqlg Backstory: Draíocht lived in isolation. He was hot-headed as a youth and sought to quell those tendencies. Besides, the humans of Toh'Riel didn't seem to take kindly to elves and as far he was concerned that was fine. He liked animals better anyways. Live and let live. Key word: live. It's not easy to live in solitude when there's threats of war and chaos. So he came out of his hermitage to see how he could help. Maybe he'd even make some new friends. Other Notes: Feel like a wildshaping elf kind of fits the "creepy predator" stereotype humans have of elves. Particular since his preferred forms would probably be Dire Wolf or Brown Bear. Image:

Thanks. I’ll do that after work.
Updated my character with the Standard Array (here).
I'll write out a background tonight.
By the way, is there a more detailed description of this campaign setting? For example, what is the Scarecrow? How long has it been since the end of the Scarecrow War?
Since I'm an Urchin, I think it would make sense to at least know some info about a city from which I originated from. Perhaps there's a place where it would be convenient given the setup?
Amnon's earliest memories were in an orphanage in a hamlet. He had originally been found by the local priest who, while weary of his clear infernal heritage, didn't feel like it was right to let the newborn die. He has no memories of his parents, nor does he particularly care.
The closest thing to a father figure was the priest who would often visit him at the orphanage, determined that his religious lessons could curb any potential demonic behaviors. However, Amnon never particularly found the lessons appealing nor convincing, the boy having a tendency to ask far too many questions for the priest's liking. This would often lead to exasperation and even the occasional corporal punishment.
He was never exactly strong, and combine that with his outward appearance, he was a prime target for bullies. Amnon learned quickly that he was not likely to win in a direct confrontation, and instead tried to outsmart his childhood foes.
Overall, he never found the hamlet inviting, and combined with the abuse from both adults and other children, he wanted to leave. He eventually did when he was 12, he deciding to hide in the wagon of some travelers that had been coming through and winding up in a large city.
The city had a lot of possibility for the boy, but it was obvious that he had little experience navigating it. At first, he was trying to get by sleeping on the streets or on the floors of filthy taverns, all the while desperately trying to get any bit of coin he could. This led to him learning the basics of being a thief, but he still had a lot to learn.
One day while in the market, he observed a particularly rich man (a Lord Luc Hornraven) who was flaunting his wealth, making a particularly promising target for Amnon. While the wealthy human was busy drinking with a group of friends, the tieflling boy was able to snatch his coin purse...but not without notice.
Amnon thought he had gotten away, but alas, once he went into an alley, he found himself surrounded, where he was beaten to the inch of his life. Thankfully though, Amnon was found by another local urchin, an older half-elf boy known as Lander.
Lander helped Amnon, assisting him to a local charity hospital so that he could be healed. Afterwards, Lander took the younger Amnon under his wing, training him to be a better thief and how to survive on the streets. They were both idealists, wanting to believe that one day that those at the bottom of society would rise up against all the institutions that were keeping them down, whether that be the rich hoarding their gold or priests "brainwashing" their flocks.
Amnon and Lander eventually took on mercenary work once they were older, which proved to be a good test of their skills and paid very handsomely. This allowed them to finally get a roof over their head.
One day, however, their segment of the city was swarmed by monstrosities from the Depths, and while Amnon was able to walk away from the event,. Lander lost his life and their shared apartment burned. The only thing that Amnon had left was the lucky ring that Lander had always worn (the origin story of which was never consistent whenever Lander told it).
Now, Amnon is an adventurer, searching for gold and meaning in a world that has so-often been hostile towards him. He travels with a female pet rat known as Lana, named loosely after his lost friend.
Personality
Generally slow to trust, though will team up with others if it benefits him. Those that he does befriend, he holds incredibly dearly. Has a pet rat, Lana, who he often will talk to (as people do their pets irl). He also has a habit to ask a lot of questions.
He still is an idealist, believing that the weak will eventually overcome the strong, and has no time for unquestioned authority. However, he sees the horrors that are inflicted by monsters and will collaborate with lawful institutions for the sake of expediency.

Are you still recruiting? I've been looking for a PBP game. I'm still getting used to 5e after a long hiatus, but have a ton of 3.5 experience.

Tiefling rogue. Urchin background.
I can fill in more details if you would like me to play. Also, would you like us to use DnD beyond to keep our character records?
Edit: Went ahead and made them https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/120252154
