As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to continue the group. I don't mind DMing if no one else wants to, however I don't have any paid content to share with the crew. My collection is all physical copies.
If I DM we can continue some interpretation of west haven, or I am experienced with running sword coast content, and am the /most/ experienced in running ravenloft/curse of Strahd content. just putting all that info out there.
I'll say this, I have a few games running and I just really don't want to DM another. I was really enjoying this as a casual distraction. If someone else wants to lead, that would be fun. I really thought he was doing great and I find it a bit odd that he bailed like that. We don't know him from anyone...but, maybe someone should check in on him?
I honestly think it was because of me? there was a couple of times where I kinda raised a yellow flag at that he was really like... just kinda "Matter of fact" on. In particular, I asked to use Arias defender reaction when the ghoul attacked kneecap and he refused, and just wasted the reaction. I tried to ask him about it but he just kinda shut me down. then, a couple of times I tried to grapple (Callim and Aria) allies and use grappling rules to move them to safety, and he wouldn't let me. the last time, I really was persistent on getting him to tell me what his rationale was for not letting me do it, and he again shut me down in OOC. so I did reach out to him in PMs and was like hey man are you good? I told him (basically) that I was getting a shrewd vibe and was telling him it's just a game and we're all just trying to have a good time, him included. I told him a few things that I really liked about what he was doing, and told him its very obvious he's going to great lengths to run a high quality PBP and I dig that, but he didn't reply--again.
But since then, he had posted all the house rules, and the leveling up stuff so I thought we were all good, then out of nowhere he posted in OOC that he was done.
I mean, maybe. I got the distinct sense that he had some real life pressures pop in. Sounds like someone was eager to get him off the game and focus on something else. Let's see if we have a group with the rest of the crew. If so, we can move forward. If not, maybe we are released back into the wild to try to find a new game to play.

As soon as he posted his exit from the campaign, he posted a new recruitment thread in the PBP forum for another adventure so I don't think that was it.
Hi! This was actually my first PHP campaign, and while it was short, it was a blast, even with the abrupt ending.
As far as continuing, I'm a bit torn on that one. I don't have time to DM, but would be open to playing. If you want to DM OTheophylus I could be up for it, but that's a big ask if that wasn't your plan. I love DM'ing, I run two in person campaigns, but its work! Do you need a few days to think it through before you commit? :)
If we want to chalk this up as a fun one shot and look for other games, I'm good with that too.
For sure. Like I said, I would be okay with DMing, but it may take some a day or so after we decide, to figure out the best way to finish off what we’re in the middle of, and set us off in a good direction. We’ll wait for volneers reply and go from there!
Ok, we are a go. Volneer is up for more, sent me a private message. OTheo, let us know if you need any help building the forums, a campaign...things like that. But, if you have it all in hand, lead on!
IC, perhaps we head back to Calim's Smithshop. He and his daughter can reinforce the blades that were dulled by the Ooze and we can start fresh. Happy to head back into that dungeon or go wherever else you dream next. And, speaking for me, you are welcome to keep Dorn in as a NPC. It is hard for me to play and DM. But, you do you. It feels a bit more doable on play by post, since you have time to get your mind straight and you aren't just juggling things in the moment.
Glad to continue with you all.
On a personal note, we are headed into Holy Week and Easter season here (remember I'm a priest in Baltimore). I'm here and will check in. But, I might just be a BIT less on top of things for the next few days.
Any way someone can steal the largest map from the IC thread? For whatever reason none of the maps are showing up for me. Once I get that I'll get started on fleshing out the remaining rooms
Okay friends, I just worked up a little map on inkarnate... I'll be using that system for maps since I already have the subscription, and will just update it as we go along. This is what I have so far, from my memory... Lol, let me know if I'm missing anything. I did make an intentional change to the unexplored door in the circular chamber: It is stone (don't know if it was before) and ten feet wide. FYI I have an in-person D&D session tomorrow evening, so I'll continue to prep this, however we may not start until Monday. is that okay with everyone?
That looks about right to me. There may have been another door somewhere. But, I think it is more fun to just have it be your deal. Here is my suggestion, let's head back out of the hole...fix our weapons, do a little RPing to get us back into the fray. I'm not sure if Dorn is going to keep on with the party or not. But, that would give you a chance to pull out.
1. Do you want to institute any new rules to suit your gaming style? 2. I had a lovely backstory thing I had shared with the old DM and I was thinking it was fun...I'll share it with you in a bit through PM. 3. Did you want to add one more person? I thought the ratio and number was pretty good before. But, you know...less people does mean faster rounds.
Here's the campaign link, sorry crew you would not believe the day I had.
My car was in the shop for over a week getting a transmission swap done, and as soon as I picked it up today, went to target, and a fixture from a lightest in the parking lot fell and crushed the roof. 😂 So spent most of the day working with their liability insurance people. You'll see more development tomorrow!

This is where we talk about whether or not to continue our journey as a group into the world of play-by-post.
Sure thing.

Let's see if we can get the crew all in this thread and then see what people think. That seemed REALLY abrupt, no?

Hah. We've been dumped.
Well, I kind of wanted to see if we could get Volneer to join us. Let's see if he comes over too.

Sounds good. I'll start preparing things and I'll share a campaign link when I have one up!

Gotcha, well I hope you guys don’t mind me attempting to go off of memory 😂
Remember, you're DM now so you can do whatever the heck you want
