as Volneers hand lights up with a fierce and blazing form of magic, he lashes it out toward the door. A small blast of fire quickly engulfs the aged wooden door in flame as Volneer steps back and without misstep, Dorn and Aria rush in. Dorn busts through the burning and fragile door with his shield to be met with a large hall leading up to a raised stonework throne. the contents of this room are plenty, but as the company all begins to rush the room, instincts make the entire company all hone in on three creatures in the room. Two ghouls gnawing on the remnants of humanoid creatures tied to chains on the north wall, and a larger creature much resembling a ghoul commanding the throne at the end of the chamber. The largest of the creatures at the end of the chamber notices you, and in a loud and guttural language unfamiliar to you, he calls out to the ghouls who turn to face the party.
Kneecap, I didn't see any movement from you, but I'll give you an opportunity to do so before any actions are taken. On everyones next post, Roll for initiative!
OOC: If Dorn and Aria rushed in, Kneecap would have been right on your heels, ducking through the door to avoid the flames, but laughing none the same! So probably next to Dorn or Aria?
Calim notices a corner near the door to create a little pocket for the caster. "Pop over here and sling your magics behind me, son." Calim redoubles his efforts to create an impenetrable wall holding his handaxe and his shield...he is readied. "Hey there you soulless wretch, stop gnawing on you bone and come get some fresh meat!"
Persuasion 11 (10+1)
Calim is going to fall back to the upper right corner of the room with the express purpose of giving Volneer some partial cover. He is going to be ready to react with a basic melee attack should a ghoul come their way. Simultaneously, he is going to run through his old adventuring memories to see if he can recognize the larger ghoul...try to remember any advantages that might help his group.
As the ghast falls into Volneers sight, he stumbles back up agains the dungeon wall with intimidation. The rest of the company rushes in with Callim tailing the rear, as he ushers a rally cry for the surprised wizard, before entering the room and playing his part in forming a strong defensive front against the vile creatures in this room. As he taunts the ghouls, he successfully riles them up. Gazing upon the larger one... he remembers there are several different variety of ghouls but can't quite recall more information. This one, clearly though, seems to be a head-honcho of sorts.

For the purposes of this battle and potentially going forward, I will make rolls for Dorn and other NPCs on Dorn's character sheet. Also, welcome @Culiril who will be joining in our adventure when your characters return to Westhaven, in the mean time, Culiril will be trying to take you all out early by playing the Ghast in combat.
I know that I am last in the run here. But, I am thinking I might get a chance to wallop on a Ghoul. If so, here is what I would like to do. I don't want to hold up the team, as I am headed into prep for my own game this afternoon.

Dorn flinches as the bones pass nearby and over callim's head. In response he instinctively flings out his dagger toward the ghoul, piercing its rotten flesh. It lets out a bloodcurdling yell as both ghouls look toward their larger kin, presumably waiting for some sort of signal or response.
Dorn tightens his grip on his shield has he calls out to the company: "Stay firm! Stand your ground, and remember, stay close to Aria and I!" Aria holds fast to her blade, ready to swing if an enemy comes within reach.
Dorn throws dagger, 16 to hit, 4 damage.
Aria readies an attack, triggered when an enemy comes within reach.
The Ghast charges from its position at the end of the hall towards the group, veering a bit to the south. As it moves it shouts in its unknown tongue at the other two ghouls. It ends up just south of Dorn, threating them with a growl showing its sharp teeth. Those near can smell its horrendous stench.
Ghast uses a Dash Action to move 50' to the spot adjacent to both Dorn and Kneecap and diagonal to Aria. (No Attack) Any creature that starts its turn within 5 feet of the ghast must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. (Due to the stench) It is telling the other ghouls to surround these intruders and kill them.
Volneer moves a few feet forward (In flavor, not in game mechanics) And prepares to unleash his new powers on the evils. He throws a shard of ice at one of the ghouls, missing terribly, but the shard explodes between both the ghouls.
Ice knife (7 to hit, nat 1) Dex save DC 14, 8 damage on fail.

With the creatures inbound, the party begins to ward off their attacks, and retaliate with some of their own. Volneer from the rear, pulls a drop of water from his waterskin and with powerful magic, atomizes it and freezes it, forming it into a sharp blade that then gets sent toward the ground underneath the Ghast. a frozen explosion covers the ground in Ice forcing the ghast and those around it to tread carefully, as the remainder of the party finalizes their attacks.
We have some final saving throws here that need to be made from Kneecap and the Ghast, We'll wait for those before we move back up to the top of the round!

As the team work in tandem as they begin their assault on the wicked creatures at work here, they don't miss a beat, parrying, dodging, striking, and casting. Kneecap dances around the ghast, as he works through it's putrid smell and calls upon the divine to turn the ghouls, although the ghast may just be too formidable to be affected by such effects. The furthest ghoul begins to take off to the northwest corner of the room. Dorn and Aria take a brief look at one another and a simple and simultaneous nod indicates an attack they've been training on together for quite some time. Dorn pivots his foot behind, and with a spin, jumps up and comes down on the thigh of the ghast, and just as he drops below eyesight, Aria comes through, piercing the ghast's torso within inches of Dorns falling head. The ghoul closest to the party sees the divine radiance emanating from Kneecaps Holy Symbol and begins to turn in preparation for following the furthest ghoul.
