Hi there! I'm actively running two campaigns strictly on D&DBeyond, and looking to fill some spots. See below for the campaigns:
Norea: a west marches home-brew Looking to fill 1-2 spots.
In the young world of Theochora, the species of human, stout kin, and elves have all established strong kingdoms in the continent of Urd. a new land is discovered by the seafarers of splinter-bone isle. Word eventually got back to the mainland and the major kingdoms of Norea, and over time a joint pact was made by the kingdoms of humans, elves, and stout-kin known as the Westhaven Concordant. It was determined that over several years and campaigns to this new land they called Norēa, that they would establish an Urdian colony that would be home to all manner of folk, with the of exploration and expansion into the unknown wilds of Norea. This place, they would soon call Westhaven, and individuals from all walks of life set their eyes upon westhaven as a way to start fresh, escape their past, discover hidden secrets, or to prove themselves.
What awaits the small hamlet of Westhaven as they embark into the wild unknown of Norea?
House of Lament: A horror adventure in the ravenloft setting Looking to fill 2-3 spots. Uncover the mysteries of an old and seemingly forgotten house, tucked away within a curious place deep within a shroud of mists. What stories does this house hold? What will you take away should you survive? ...What will you leave behind?
If you're interested in any of these adventures, feel free to write up a character summery and respond here in this thread with the character concept, and which campaign you'd like to join. I'll leave this thread active for a few days and sort through to choose the best fits!
Is Norea the one where the DM dumped you guys like a sack of potatoes, while claiming it was just a demo despite not telling you that?
That’s the one. The crew wanted to keep playing, so I offered to flesh it out and DM for us. But since my character is no longer a PC, they’re down a player.
What level are you starting at for either campaign?
Are there any banned classes?
I remember when applying for the House of Lament the first time that you preferred people color code their OoC intentions or thoughts. How the hell do you do that?
Interested in the raven loft campaign. Along with Boldhand22's question on banned classes, what races are allowable? What level are we starting off at. Does color coding your OOC intentions mean something like this?
Edit: Might help also if you let us know what classes are already being played.
Name: Sabina Featherwind Race: Human (variant) Class: Artificer
Brief Background: Sabina is from a relatively well-off minor noble family. Raised surrounded with books and tutors, she was eventually sent off to a prestigious school to study the arcane arts. She was a diligent student, finding interest in using the arcane to fuel her interests in alchemy and tinkering. While away, her family had fallen into disrepute, accused of being entangled with an evil cult. Sabina did not really believe it but had no real evidence either way. When she completed her studies, she was unable to return home, so has set out to make her own way.
I would not mind joining either adventure - perhaps with a small preference towards Norea. But I think investigating the mysterious old house could be interesting. I will roll for stats, but can change to Point Buy or whatever is preferred. I'm presuming to start level 1?
I am in quite a lot already, so was planning on not joining anymore campaigns for now. That being said, these both seem interesting so if you don't get enough people in a few days, I will rustle up a character.

Norea players are currently lvl. 2, with a dwarf cleric, elf sorcerer, and human fighter -- Will be accepting all character options from PHB HOL players are currently lvl. 1, with an elf barbarian, handling rogue, human artificer, and human paladin -- will be accepting all character options from PHB and Van Richtens guide
The formatting tools should be available to you above the text box here, if they're not I'm assuming you're on an iPhone? if that's the case, turn your phone and switch over to horizontal view and it should pop up for you. It's not the biggest concern, just makes things a bit easier to distinguish. The guideline in both campaigns are the following:
Bold your characters speech
Italicize their thoughts
And any OOC information is in Orange for Norea, and Purple for HOL.
Brief Background: Wynn grew up surrounded by entertainers and musicians, eventually, as he grew up he learnt to play a few instruments. As a war started, Wynn played his instruments entertaining people as a living. He eventually left his home town to be an entertainer, as he traveled, he learnt the basics of combat and magic. And journey after journey, he found himself here.
Are you allowing individuals to apply for both campaigns? If so, can they submit one character for both or do they need to submit a specific character for each campaign?
Name: Sariel Ama'lo Race: Wood Elf Class: Rogue (Scout when we get to that level)
Background: Sariel has lived a good youth in a forested part of the Elven kingdom, and started on adulthood as a guide. But some humans he was showing around got injured doing something he'd told them not to do, and somehow this was his fault to them. It was decided he was 'exiled' for a decade or two, long enough for the humans to forget. He decided to travel, and this new continent sounded like a good place to check out.
I can see with the information about the current party members that my Artificer submission is probably not a good choice for the House of Lament. Without a response on submitting separate characters for each campaign, I'll offer this one for House of Lament. If not allowed, then please ignore! (And Sabina Featherwind would be just for Norea. Though that campaign seemed to garner more interest thus far. And I'd be interested in either.)
Name: Vanizi
Race: Half-orc
Class: Warlock (Celestial)
Brief Background: The identity of Vanizi father was a bit uncertain and her mother was killed in a battle not long after she was born. Her mother, a human, had been part of a large mercenary company, which communally took responsibility for Vanizi's upbringing. It was clear that she did not take book learning. But since she was strong and decently athletic, they did the obvious thing and tried to train her as a warrior. She was never really exemplary at that either. When younger, she tended to be target of the blows of other bullies. And when older and joining the mercenary group's endeavors, she often seemed to absorb more blows than most others. She really saw no way out of the situation, even though she bristled against the strict discipline of the outfit and their ways. One night though, she saw an angelic figure in the night when she was alone trying to sleep. It promised her a different life, one of power balanced with compassion. Deciding to follow, she was led from the encampment and evenatually pledged herself to this being's service. In return, she started to gain many new powers, giving her the confidence to move on to try to create a new life for herself.
I am here, I am in the Norea campaign, not here to apply but here to tell you OTheophylus is a great DM and y'all will have a great time if you play this campaign.

Same guy, different account. I have questions.

ROTFL 🤣
For whatever reason, that phrasing just struck me as really funny. Thanks for the laugh!
