Drako tenses with Rix before pausing, "The dwarves were excavating ruins, no? Might the disrepair here be from before, not recently?" He readies his flail just in case nonetheless.
After an initial reaction from Willow and Nigel, just let me know how y'all would like to proceed. As for Herb and Archie, decide what they would do (Willow and Nigel).

Nigel sends Archie through the broken door to scout the area ahead. While he can't communicate directly with Nigel, should Archie see something, he will communicate it through a feeling of emotion.
As the party forges ahead, Willow keeps pace, her simple attire a soft whisper against her skin. Her steps are cautious, a mix of excitement and trepidation in her heart as she ventures beyond the confines of her once-secluded life.
Herb maintains a steadfast presence around Vabrix, the shrub’s leaves providing a gentle rustling accompaniment to the warrior's stride. 🍃💚 "Be at ease, Vabrix," Herb’s leafy voice seems to murmur, "I’m here to assist you as best I may."
Willow watches Herb with a look of focused concentration, betraying her inexperience with the rigors of the road. Her voice carries a quiet strength, although a faint tremor underscores her words. "Stay vigilant, Herb," she instructs, her hands clasping her healer’s kit a little too tightly—a visible sign of her nervous anticipation.
Approaching the silent ruins, Willow takes a deep breath, trying to steady the fluttering in her chest. The unfamiliar weight of responsibility presses upon her as she steps further from the only world she has known... the convent where she grew up and trained as a child to be a healer.
As they edge forward into the canyon's quiet, the contrast between the stillness of their surroundings and the readiness of the group is stark. Willow's gaze flits from shadow to stone, her instincts on alert. Yet despite her nerves, she stands ready to use her healing magic at a moment's notice, all while subtly looking to the others, relying on their knowledge and experience, trying not to show how new to this she actually is.

As Archie enters, he sees the following ruins:
All knowledge of this settlement, including its name, vanished along with its original inhabitants, who were killed by an avalanche. The rubble that once buried the settlement has been hauled away, leaving the outlines of stone buildings visible as collapsed walls. A stone well on the far side of the ruins is filled with rubble.
The settlement has been thoroughly ransacked. Those who search the ruins find a few crushed dwarf bones and signs of recent campfires, but nothing of value.
[The feeling that Archie transmits telepathically, would be calmness. Signifying that the coast is clear. I will assume that Nigel would inform the party of this, and then you would all make your way inside to inspect the ruins, thus witnessing what has been described above. So tell me... What would you have done, felt, or said as you enter? And what will you all do next?]

The party enters the ruins, their eyes taking in the skeletal remains of what was once a lively settlement, now reduced to silent stones and ghostly memories. Willow follows, her heart heavy at the sight of the crushed bones—a stark reminder of the transience of life.
Willow takes a moment to absorb the somber atmosphere, her pale eyes reflecting a deep reverence for the lives once lived here. "Such a fate," she murmurs, her voice a soft echo amid the quietude of desolation, "to be remembered only by the earth that embraced them."
Herb, perched upon Vabrix’s shoulder, leans into the warrior's ear. 🍃💚 "Keep your eyes wide, friend," the shrub advises. "These walls may not hold treasure, but they may yet hold secrets. Look for the nooks, the crannies—nature's pockets where something might yet be hidden."
Willow, drawing upon the tranquil calmness conveyed by Archie, steers her steps towards the stone well. Though filled with rubble, it stands as a testament to the endurance of the dwarves' craftsmanship. She kneels beside it, her slender fingers tracing the cold, worn stones, feeling for any irregularity or hidden compartment within the well's structure.
"If these stones could speak, what tales would they tell?"Willow wonders aloud, her thoughts drifting to the avalanche that buried the past beneath layers of time and rubble. Her gaze shifts, considering the campfires—recent human activity that could mean friend or foe.
"Vabrix, Herb, perhaps we should be extra cautious,"she advises, rising to stand. "These cold embers could suggest we may not be alone. While the eagle's flight speaks of clear skies, the land itself might hold less visible threats."
As the group deliberates their next move, Willow's instincts as a healer and a woman of faith prompt her to suggest a respectful moment of silence for the fallen. "Let us honor those who came before," she says, "and in doing so, may we fortify our resolve to prevent such tragedies in our time."
With the moment passed, Willow is ready to move on, her determination renewed, ready to face the secrets these ruins may yet yield, her belief unwavering that even in such desolation, there is purpose and hope.
OOC: I moved Herb forward on the map keeping him with Vabrix to help him anyway he is able... the shrub could even offer/use the 'help' action to assist Vabrix to look if possible. I moved Willow on the map too and did an investigation check for her from her character sheet with a result of 14 for her searching (looking about).

[And Willow, as you look around the ruins, nothing of note is noticed amongst the rubble and the bones. But the atmosphere isn't welcoming. You do not feel a connection to nature or the divine. And it may very well be the first time you feel unwelcomed. PS: loving your posts so far UuU]

OOC: Thanks Willow's pretty green with Herb being more experienced in terms of the outside world, etc. you could say he's a bit of a well-traveled shrub who has enjoyed the tempations of taverns and loose clinging vines in his day of which Willow is unaware. In any event Willow is trying to learn the ropes and content with her support role within the group. I'm happy you like posts thus far, I shall endevour not to overstep. Been very fun thus far, with good solid group.

Nigel also stops at the dillapitated gate. Just as Willow did he places his hand upon the stones. Unlike the sorcerer, his touch is one of utilitarian support and not reverence. Eyes closed, he leans against the stone door jam. A moments concentration and the darkness gives way to a rolling vision of the area. Through Archie's eyes, Nigel sees Willow at the well. Through their telepathic connection Nigel urges the owl to continue to sweep over the area.

As Archie enters the next area, it sees the following:
A partially collapsed, ten-foot-high wall separates this courtyard from the settlement west of it. Three heaps of rubble are piled high in this area. Hewn from the canyon’s back wall, a thirty-foot-high temple facade features steps rising to a stone platform. Cut into this facade is a ten-foot-high open doorway flanked by crumbling, life-sized granite statues of cloaked dwarves. Evil grins can be seen on their weatherworn faces.
Archie also sees two shield dwarves eating their rations next to the easternmost pile of rubble. At the sight of an owl, this one offers it a piece of bread:
While the other one says "Don't feed it. It'll get attached and you can barely take care of your sorry arse."
The one that offers Archie a piece of bread says "Oh, shut it. I'm not adoptin' it. It just looks hungry. 'Sides, I don't need yer permission to do a damn thing!"
They continue to banter like an old married couple for a while.
Rix hears the dwarves arguing. Still ready for a fight, he follows their voices. When he finds the dwarves, he makes his presence known. "Who are you?"

As Vabrix's voice echoes through the courtyard of the ruins, Dazlyn and Norbus momentarily halt their banter, their attention drawn to the towering figure before them.
Dazlyn, ever forthright, straightens his posture and clears his throat before responding, "Aye, we're Dazlyn Grayshard and Norbus Ironrune, shield dwarf prospectors, at yer service."
Norbus, his gruff demeanor softening slightly in the presence of the imposing goliath, adds with a nod, "Been explorin' these ruins for months now, tryin' tae uncover any treasures buried in these old stones."
Norbus, his voice gruff and no-nonsense, would ask Vabrix, "An' who might ye be?"
