(Okay, so we're gonna have a little RP here to discuss how people are going to do this. Trying to hire two more drivers last minute as well as trying to find a sharpshooter will cost money, after all.)
Deciding on hiring a couple of backup coaches, and perhaps a backup shooter, their first people to ask are Biff and Charl for a couple of other drivers.
"Another TWO drivers?" Biff says. "You're opening this up quite a bit if it's meant to be on the low-down. We'll ask around, but it's gonna cost ya. Another hundred... each."
“Are you certain of this?” Asked one of his companions to the warforged.
“Affirmative.” He replies on his usual monotonous tone of voice “ Information: Unit 433367/2 was a renowed scout and sharpshooter in my legion. He led us successfully through difficult terrain several times, allowing the success of the mission, and his protocols excels in eliminating threats to the unit or platoon from distance.”
“But this place...” said another looking at the ugly tavern they were entering in one of the lower levels of Sharn.
The warforged didn’t replied to that “Scanning “ he said instead looking around the dark and smokey interior of the tavern. “Target localized” he said pointing to one table at one corner were a game of cards were beign played by a bugbear, a one-eyed human, a scruffy looking halfling and a warforged with medium armor plates of grey and dark colors clad in brown clothes and cloak.
Kerthak turns his head towards his companions.
“Warning: Since the Liberation the unit 433367/2 has acquired the name Tirthan. Refering him by his assigned number would be considered as an offense and will decrease our chances to hire him by a 96.34%”
He then walks to the table and waits for the current game to end.
The warforged playing the game looks at him and scoffs a little bit at his presence but remains focused on the game.
Kerthak approaches the table. The warforged in question is seated to see the party, while collecting the winnings as some disgruntled humans leave the table, saying that the game was rigged. Tirthan, also known as 433367/2, scoops the coins into a bag on its lap, then conceals it behind a leather duster. The matching black hat obscures the maker's mark to others there, but Kerthak knows its him due to the demeanour and little idiosyncrasies. "Kerthak." Tirthan says, not looking at the larger more brutish model of warforged. "The terms were simple, we were to disband and not attempt to make contact to one another."
While Kerthak is busy with things Boo will walk to Ith and looks up at him asks, "well? You're the one... with all the juice, got the connections with the guy who hired us, yeah I had Guido follow you... so what are you going to do about making my little backup scheme happen... you know just in case things go sideways??? Shouldn't you be talking to him, the boss, his pals, whoever it is that wants those shards so badly or drumming up some additional funding to increase our chances of success and survivability?"
"You know how I got to get all the juice, as you say, ?" He isn't waiting for an answer. "I stay on the downlow. Something you might want to try. Is there a price on you head frm running away from the high and hooo so mighty UNIVERSITY ?"
Ith's face shifts, like molded clay, just slightly but enough to make an impression. " Don't push me "Little " lady. I know this job is important but I can't go crying to the BOSS every time things don't go has planned. You could have said NO by the way. What do I get from saving YOUR but ?"
The Halfing jumps back as Ith's face begins shift she grabs her chest starting to laugh, "Ewww, don't do that! Stop... it,"she cries out, "it looks like your face is melting or something... totally gross. Its one thing for Guido to tell me what you were but its another to see you do it!"
Boo looks up at Ithrather surprised and caught off guard by his revelation, "what the hell are you talking about? I am on leave from the university, they think I am on a research study for my thesis project... I have approval from my advisor and everything so stop yanking my chain. Besides, I am a student from Morgrave University, not a pre-school... why in the nine hells would a university put a price on the head of a university graduate student even if I were missing? Not like my family name is Boromar or d'Jorasco... or something, I'm a nobody! If I were I wouldn't have all these damn loans to pay off to have to work this stupid job in the first place!!!"
The Halfing starts to pace about her mind racing... thinking, "well you need a little pushing and I am just little lady to it to it! Yeah, this job is important... not just to the boss but me, you all of us, we got something at stake here and I am going let anyone piss it all away. If you are too afraid to cry to the boss, then take me to him and I will do it... in my experience, the squeaky wheel gets the grease and I've got a lot of squeaking experience! And what do mean saved my butt, since when? How did you save my bum?"
Boo gives Ithan irritated rather infuriated look rolling her eyes back as he laughs at her, "I knew it, you didn't save my bum at all and no one is looking me either, very funny. Didn't I just say I had student loans to pay off... duh, you changelings are just as bad as men of any race, you don't listen to a female voice when she is standing right in front of you talking? So yeah, I got a stake in this, I need money to pay off a loan coming due so I need be paid for my part in this little job and I would very much like to survive it as well preferable in one complete piece. So is it too much ask we take some extra precautions as I outlined in my emergency backup plan?"She gives Ithan exasperated huff stamping her foot nervously, snapping her fingers in front of his face trying to keep his focus, "oh come... don't look at me like that... you did read my outline didn't you... about the two extra skycoaches, drivers and phony crates... etc., etc., etc. So are you see about getting all that approved and paid for or what? Oh, gawds just kill me now!" The Halfling shakes her head in despair as she mutters apparently praying for strength...
"So all males are like that..." Ith watched Boo get more andlre worked up.
Boo grins slyly at Ith, "sure they are... every last one of them, what do think my thesis is all about?"
"I will see what I can ask but we are supposed to be self-reliant and hired professionals. Not sure how that will pan out."
Boo shrugs, "well if your boss has you all intimated and scared, I guess I can understand and sympathize, we all cannot stand up to authority now, can we? Or if you think it's just a dumb idea by a silly Halfling girl then just ignore it... and me, everyone else does!"She shakes her head and sighs, "but I'll tell you one more stupid idea notto do too. Don't have everyone in our little gang go and buy or be equipped with an Healer's Kit each... just in case one or more of us end up dying and need to be stabilized and your healers are all dead already cause there weren't two extra sky coaches... those kits are just way too expensive, life is cheap and your bosses surely would rather have more us end up dead at the end of the job and save a few coins on their end... if they don't have to pay us all out in full and can save a bit on their overhead and payroll then what's the harm, right?"
AnHealer's Kit is rather helpful that anyone with one using it to stabilize a dying comrade doesn't need to make medicine skill check roll to use and succeed especially in the event a mass party extinction is imminent or something. :)
“Statement: That is accurate” replies to him “However those orders where given 1.187 days ago and our former chain of command is gone. Conclusion: Those orders are no longer in effect. Speculation: Some would say that orders were given to avoid a great number of us to join forces again. Statement: There are only two of us. No need to be worry.” He sits at th table “ Statement: We need your skills to offer cover for us during an operation. Warning: The mission is not entirely legal, but chances of great profit are high.”
I'm all for it .

Same with me, I'm all for it as well... nothing to lose in trying!
I second Frandal’s motion.
I like Boo's idea of having extra skycoaches. Not sure if Frandal's idea is a substitute or addition but I don't object.
An addition of course... the extra skycoaches sounds great and our sniper could be in one...

I definitely have no objections then.
Aye!

He waves to the barkeep for more drinks and gets more comfortable feeling this discussion might take all night.
