Seeking 1 3rd level healer for Betrayal at Devilsfall, an investigative adventure about a controversial political plan. This adventure follows up on Blade Bizarre, which we have recently completed. One player is not continuing, and the others would prefer some more healing power, so bard, cleric, paladin, or any class that provides some additional healing is acceptable.
If you are interested after reading the details below, please reply here or in a PM. Include the race/class you would like to play, and a short background summary. At the start of the adventure, you have be meeting with the Warblade of Sundabar to discuss assisting with an unpopular political move.
Standard Array, Point Buy, and “Roll 4d6 Drop Lowest” are all acceptable, but if you are using rolls, those rolls must be made here or in a PM, and there are no rerolls allowed. Rolling is a gamble, if you don't want to chance lower-than-average scores, take the Standard Array or Point Buy.
Good or neutral alignments are acceptable for this adventure, and I will trust the players to roleplay well within a party. Make sure that chaotic neutral is fun for everybody, not just the chaotic neutral.
About The Campaign:
- This adventure is part of a large overarching campaign, so this party can continue to another adventure after this one is complete.
- Some aspects of this adventure are very linear to keep the PbP flowing. If you are the type that prefers being able to sail west in a campaign and make your own adventure, this adventure is probably not for you.
- This may at times be an M rated adventure. If you think you will be unable to handle descriptions of bloodshed and other sensitive topics, this adventure is probably not for you.
About The DM:
- I started playing D&D with 5E. I DM two RL groups and very much enjoy how PbP campaigns allow groups of people to come together and create an awesome story.
- I can update my PbP campaigns up to three times a day on most days, but will not advance the campaign without giving each player 24 hours to post, unless it is a situation where only one or two players' input is necessary to advance. With your response, please send me a PM that includes the phrase “treachery of Umberlee” so I know I will have players with attention to detail.
- I prefer PbP campaigns that read nicely, so I stick with Theater of the Mind for PbP and provide as much information as I can, rather than use an external tool for placement on maps. I also roll initiative in groups so that rounds of combat can progress as quickly as possible.
- I use rolls over averages. Enemy/NPC health is rolled, all damage is rolled, and character HP gains will be rolled when they level up.
- Your characters can die. I don't fudge rolls, so don't be reckless.
I've had a Grave Domain Cleric concept I've been iterating on for a bit, that has yet to find a campaign to participate in. Here is the link to the sheet here in DnDBeyond.
A quick synopsis: Pell Covenwing is a human warrior priest of Kelemvor, God of Death. His self given mission in life is to eradicate undead. However he's extremely optimistic and decides where to go and what to do on a whim, which often leads him to do things not related to his mission. He's socially awkward due to his appearance and his faith makes others uncomfortable. He's the type that desperately wants to fit in and have a 'family' and constantly tries too hard.
I'm based in EST timezone and can post several times a day during the work week, and once or twice on weekends.
As a cleric, I intend to play him more as a healer and support class. Unless the situation dictates a more aggressive spell list.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Here's Murmen Bloodkith, a Forge Domain cleric. I know it's not completely healer based, but I figured he has enough healing power combined with all his defensive abilities. I used Point-Buy for his stats.
I'm assuming you want me to roll for the level-ups: 4
I'll get his background soon, I just need to finish developing it.
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)

I can quickly level him up to 3 if chosen.
