"I would strongly advised against 'pawning off' issued gear unless absolutely necessary. They were given in good faith, and should you not have a current need for it, returned at the appropriate time." D.O.R.K almost immediately replied with a faint red tint to crystalline eyes. Vark and Beedo take turns marveling at their own reflection in D.O.R.K's spare breast plate in the background. As soon as her head snaps back around to them next however, the pair try to put off having done anything silly by scrambling into position for the trek back.
"Few of us can. Not that it is recommended that those on watch go without a light source in any case, risky though it may feel." She nods to herself. "That said, here is what I advise for going forward now that we have new members to consider-...."

"That seems like a good watch order to me." Devin says during the discussion.
"As for equipment none of it appeals to me and wouldn't help me anyways, so I had little incentive to sign up and take their gear. But I am pleased, D, to see you with armor again."
"It is indeed a welcome relief. A Daughter of the Red Lady should never be without her armor."D.O.R.K admits, hugging herself on that note. "I can only conclude that the loss of my previous plating had been both a test and a reminder of certain necessities of the path." She looks from Devin to the rest of the party, and then finally rest her eyes on Beedo and Vark; who at the time had taken to evening drills, though with slightly less reluctance out of Beedo the time around.

"I will serve as you suggest, but I will remind you that I only need to 'rest' four hours a night, and I have dark vision, so I think I shall join you and our new friend Ebonitus in the early morning as well," Lukian says to Dork.

The baying goes up a notch
As the baying goes up a notch in intensity a large dog like creature
leaps into the flickering light caused by the campfire which throws bright light out to a 20 foot radius. The dog leaps at Beedo [1-2] or Vark [3-4] and attempts to bite 4 Vark Attack: 14 Damage: 12 who easily manages to get his shield up in time.
Beedo takes one look at the giant dog and runs off into the darkeness. Not looking where he is going he runs straight through the campfire taking 3 of damage.
The rest of the party, with the exception of Toruun who snores and snorts in his sleep, blissfully unaware of what is going on can act in the following order: Lukian, D.O.R.K., Vark, Ebonitus.
Lukian something about these dogs looks familiar - pls roll a nature check.
"Fight it with magic!" Lukian advises loudly (with a tinge of fear), hoping he will be heard by even those still sleeping. He gets to his feet, performs a strange hand gesture, speaks in Elvish, and four rays of fire leave his open palm and fly at the giant dog creature.
"Understood. Changing tactics." A red-eyed D.O.R.K marches her way to Vark's side, drawing heartbreaker while calling upon the blessing of the Red Knight along the way. By the time she reached her chosen destination, the blade's edge carried a red glint to it. "Vark! Plan Zeta!"She barks as she swung once in a feinting gesture, only to a surprising feat of strength, swiftly reverse the angle of the stroke to bring the axe head down faster in a downward cleaving ark.
Hit or miss, she loses grip on the axe after, dropping it to the ground. "Oh no. My Axe. I best run now."She stated robotically as she ran around to the otherside of the beast.
Action:Heartbreaker Strike - Attack: 25 Damage: 6 of magical slashing.
Vark's Turn:
The moment the creature turns as if to keep track on D.O.R.K, the axe dropped earlier is suddenly swinging for its side. This time wielded by goblin hands, Vark keeps up the momentum until either felling the creature, or seeing enduring, scramble away after Beedo. Though unlike the latter, it is for more dignified and purposeful.
Action:Extra Attack w/ Heartbreaker. Attack: 15 Damage: 8 of magical slashing at Doggo. Attack: 22 Damage: 7 of magical slashing at Doggo.
Ebonitus prepares to fire his Guiding Bolt, using a level 2 slot, at the next critter Attack: 20 Damage: 21 if/when it appears. Meanwhile he is looking around and listening intently.

The baying does not stop
As Ebonitus looks around for a target his wish if that is what it is granted as three more of the creatures enter the light caused by the fire baying mournfully. As the party members with the exception of Beedo all saved (yes even Toruun - who continues to snore peacefully) the baying has no effect. Their bites may however be a different matter.
Faced with a wide range of targets the first hound targets - 1-2 Lukian, 3-4 D.O.R.K. 5-6 Vark, 7-8 Ebonitus and 9-10 Devin [6] Vark Attack: 17 Damage: 10 and 7. Not only does Vark easily dodge the beast's bite but it overextends itself exposing its throat to Vark's next swing with Heartbreaker (he has advantage on his next attack).
The second hound targets 7 Devin [Attack: 14 Damage: 11] and sinks its teeth deep into one of his legs.
The third hound targets [4] also attacks Devin Attack: 24 Damage: 8 but despite having a hound hanging off one leg he somehow manages to dodge the second attack.
