The damage didn't suck. I'm all for randomness and everything, but a TPK without a chance is a pretty shitty way to end a campaign.
If you all don't mind me saving the campaign, I would have the demon outright kill Krizzibond and carry him away. The next day, you'd all wake up and the party would be missing Xilyrah, Tozer and Krizzibond. You would find one massive pool of blood and splatters leading back the way you came (but no drag marks).
Would ArgentTheWise like to make another character and rejoin? It would be easy to roll you into the story once in Neverlight Grove.
Oh no - I suspect without your intervention everyone would be looking for a new game - or at least to roll up new characters - my death saves the party and I can roll up something else (with dark vision this time haha) and keep going.
I made my That's all folks post while you were writing the one before it - so I didn't see how you were going to intervene :) its all good - working on ideas now
refresh my memory if you had any restrictions on character creations
You can make any class except Cleric, Wizard and Ranger.
You can choose most races except those from Eberron, Critical Role or UA and nothing with a swim, climb or fly speed. If you make a race belonging to the underdark, you have to explain via backstory why you would want to escape to the surface world. If you want feedback, we can proceed with character creation process via PM's.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
How wide is the party camped out? What is the range of its special effect, is it enough to cover everyone from the ceiling?
You rolled a "1" for Beegred. Lucky CON re-roll: 14
Maybe the mushroom village has a shaman who would "Raise" Krizz in return for guiding Stool back to them.
If it is just Tozer and Xilyrah (and Beegred) who are not unconscious, then it is a TPK, like Winenose and Argent said... Tozer and Xilyah will just sit there as everyone gets gutted in their sleep (unless that screech makes them active).
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
I missed OOC post 1531... I thought we were going to have to fight somehow. (And if we found some way to survive, then Krizz's body would still be there.)
In order to make post 1531 happen, then Beegred does not do a Lucky re-roll on his CON save. (Otherwise, there would be fourth missing body in the morning.)

With Beegred saving, krizzibond would still get murdered. Next round the demon would still try to leave with its prize.
Beegred could try to attack, or wake others before the demon would get to leave.
The only real difference I see is Tozer and Xilyrah wouldn't wander away without notice.
I'm fine with that. I was worried about losing Krizz, but if Argent is okay rolling a new char, then I don't have to worry about Beegred dying. (That demon would 1-hit-kill Beegred even without the critical !!)
Dumping Tozer and Xilyrah is icing on the cake. Fortunately, the wand was transferred before they disappeared.

Yeah I've already got a new character ready for y'all - we'll see how they work out....and how Kerrec plans to introduce them to the rest of the party.
Welp - we're dead now - we've got one NPC to defend us against something that would probably have killed us has we been awake to fight it anyway.
(I failed the CON save? so aren't I asleep?)

Well, that was fun until it lasted. Almost made it into town.
Damn... because of the unconscious effect, attacks are at advantage and any hits are automatic crits. And this demon has a nasty effect.
I actually don't want to roll....
The dice really want this to fail... What are the chances the damage will suck?

Giving everyone a little time to roleplay the situation before moving on.
Shall I move on with the story?
In the meantime, we can manage the rolling templates given the new party composition.
Travel template:
Note: The party needs 7 pounds of food and 7 gallons of water per day with this lineup.
Long rest shifts (Needs fixing):

Double file marching order:
