Seeing Tharden’s body, the dwarf begins to sob again but tries to steady himself. To Harukai he says “you and your group has done so much for me already. If you are willing to bring him back to town I will ensure he is given a proper funeral. Gundren also does not know what happened to him. When we get close I will walk ahead and speak to him with the news.”
Nearing the town, Nundro goes ahead of the group to the inn to find Gundren. The two come out of the inn a few minutes later and come to the group. Gundren also begins crying when he sees the body "I always figured Tharden would bite off more than he can chew one day, but he died defending his brother. We will give him an honorable send off to whatever existence comes after this." Seeing Sildar holding the body of Nezznar, Gundren's face hardens. "Is this the son of a ***** responsible for all of this? So many good people were injured or died because of this mad man. I am so glad to see you have ended his reign of terror over this region. If you will allow some time for us to bury our brother, meet me at the inn to discuss the future for this area and thank you sincerely for saving Nundro, Tharden and I always did have to watch out for him." Gundren says as he ruffles the hair on Nundro's head.
Gundren takes the body of his brother and heads north to a hill behind the orchard that overlooks the town to dig a gravesite.
Sildar looks to Jackson, Nil, and Harukai and says "I have no idea what the dwarf has up his sleeve, but I would like to speak to you about the future as well. You all have shown that you are willing to stand up for what is right and willing to fight tyranny, even at the peril of your own life. These are important qualifications for members of the Lord's Alliance. I would like to offer each of you a position in the Alliance, provided you are willing to uphold the duties required of you, which is to rid the world of evil and make the realm a better place for those who are unable to fight for themselves. I will leave the offer open and give you some time to think it over. You have provided this area a great service in removing this warlord and hopefully, you will be willing to continue this mission either here or in another area, if you so desire."
"Sildar, do you want to keep this ugly looking spider staff with Nezznar's body? And what do you want to do with it, anyway? Not take it to the inn, I suspect."
Turning to the rest of the group, Harukai adds, "And well done, my friends. We seem to have survived and ended the immediate threat to this region. Well done indeed."

"Couldn't have done it without any of you..****y wish Koren and Neph were here with us to celebrate this victory. And Tharden, of course. I suppose I should retire before I, too, suffer that fate...though this Lord's Alliance membership does sound rather tempting."
"Indeed this promise of membership is alluring though I don't know how I'd feel taking orders, if you all are willing to I may test the waters I will for sure continue adventuring whether alone or with others it is my destiny I believe."
“I, too, am interested in making a difference in this world, defeating evil and relieving the suffering of the innocent.”
Harukai leans on his staff and thinks for a moment further. “Up until now, I have wandered since my time at the temple, with little to show for it. Perhaps I can do some good with this ‘Lord’s Alliance’—if they are who they represent themselves to be.”

Sildar says “yes I will keep the staff with the body. I am going to take it to the barn at Alderleaf Farm and keep watch unil contacts from Neverwinter can retrieve the body and such items. I again want to thank you for your assistance in this matter. Please consider my offer. I do not know if the Alliance would have you stay here or travel elsewhere if you took their employ, but fighting evil and tyranny is the basis of the Alliance and a mission you all seem well suited at carrying out. Thank you again and safe travels if decide to leave.”
Gundren meets the group back at the inn. The townsfolk, hearing of your deeds, have created a feast and are giving everyone as much drink and food that they can handle. Following the celebration, Gundren takes the group to a table by themselves and throws a bag on the table. “I know ya got dragged into this and I never meant for it to go this way. We just wanted to reopen the mine to make a profit, but the greed of others cost my brother his life.” Gundren bows his head for a moment, then returns to the group “This is a token of my appreciation for what ya did and I hope to give more. The mine will be reopening soon and if you want to stay and keep the area secure, you can have a percetage of the profit from it. I spoke to the townsfolk and they want to give you the manor on the hill to fix up and live in if you want. I truely was to say thank ya for your help, and saving our bacon too!” Opening the bag it contains a mixture of gold goins and gemstones. The combined value is $10,000 gold.
Over the next several months, workers from all around the Sword Coast come to Phandalin to work in the mines. The town begins growing as a bustling economy springs forth. Rice ore and materials are mined from the cave and the magical proerties of the spell forge are also studied by wizards and sorcerers as was in the days of Phandelvers Pact.
Regardless of your decision to go or stay, your group will always be welcome in Phandalin and you have reached level 5.
OOC: I would like to personally thank each one of you for following me on this adventure. I appologize for being slow to post from time to time, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. I have debated taking this adventure straight in to Storm King’s Thunder, but may have to take a break due to work constraints. If I do decide to do so I will message you if you want to join that adventure. Thank you again and happy adventuring.
Thanks Kryptikk! I had a lot of fun, too. A bit different for me (more cinematic, less tactical without the combat being on a grid), but a nice change of pace. Great job on narration and allowing Harukai to try some crazy moves (for flavor, even though the mechanics were unaffected). I would certainly be up for playing the next step when you are ready...just gotta figure out what to spend my coin on...

Three ways. Sildar will not take the gold. He will get payment from Gundren per their previous agreement. He completed his assignment and should receive payment from the Alliance as well.
I will look for some magic items to throw in the store. Each has a weapon at this point so maybe some good armor?
For Harukai, armor is not really helpful. Maybe bracers instead. Cloaks or rings of protection as an alternative. Other options would be mobility enhancers (winged boots, etc) or detection enhancers (items that cast light, like the sword he gave away, or allow seeing of invisible?). Harukai doesn’t really need a lot, but perhaps Bracers of Defense would be the most useful.

“Of course,” replies Harukai. “Helping bear others’ burdens is what I do to honor Ilmater.”

Harukai waits for Sildar to answer his questions, then assists as needed. He will then head to the inn as Gundren requested.

Thanks everyone! Do keep me posted should you end up running SKT sometime later.
