"Well that is certainly more gold than I've ever seen in one place," Glim says, briefly fantasizing about the arcane laboratory he could have built for himself. "Shall I begin turning it into lead?" he adds, deadpan.
"Oh, right, there's an axe here too. Orcsplitter, I presume." Glim bends down to put his face right up against the carving on the blade of the axe and squints at it.
Klong steps back. Perhaps one of the magic users can determine the safety and authenticity of this? He tries to see what he can make of this.

You have read in history books that Dwarves sometimes liked to use weapons called "Great Axes" in battle. These "Axes" were sharp blades protruding from the end of a long stick, heavy enough to require 2 hands. This appears to be one.
Klong thinks carefully. He's pretty sure this is an ancient dwarven weapon known as a Great Axe. He points to the relic, explaining to the group, and to Glim in particular. "See how sharp metal join to holding rod? This enable wielder to direct where weapon go without cutting self. This rod part called 'handle'. Sharp metal part called 'blade'. This example of dwarf technology."
Klong looks around, making sure each of his students follows this detailed combat engineering lesson, looking to see if anyone is lost and needs more explanation, perhaps in simpler terms.

History?: 15
You have heard a little of Orcsplitter before your journey started, but not much other than the Torhild Flametongue was a mighty warrior King and was well known for always carrying this axe with him into battle. You had also heard mention of an inscription and a closer look at the blade shows the Dwarven word for "Orc", but cleaved in 2 as if by an axe.
"Well, no sense talking about it here when it can be done back in town with a good drink." Kelvin starts grabbing bars of gold indiscriminately, stuffing them into his pack, handing them to others, and stuffing them into other companions' packs if they decline.

Each ingot weighs 2 lbs and is worth 20 gp each. There are, give or take, 500 ingots
Glim, satisfied that this is indeed the Orcsplitter axe that they are after, reaches in and picks it up. He swings it around awkwardly. After a moment, his gaze seems to drift to a point of empty space a few inches in front of his face and his arms fall limply to his sides (though he does not drop the axe) as though he has been mentally transported elsewhere. After a moment his consciousness seems to return to his body, and his eyes begin to glow red.
"WHY HAVE YOU DESECRATED MY RESTING PLACE?" he says, his voice booming loudly.

Glim locks eyes with Fi, then turns his gaze toward the axe. "What do you think, Orcsplitter? Do we kill her first?" He then looks menacingly at Klong.
After a moment one corner of his mouth curls into a small smile... and then bursts into laughter. "Your face! Priceless! Never mind the gold and the magic weapon; that made all of this madness worth it. Here," he extends the axe toward the goliath. "It's just a magical axe. It's not going to penetrate your mind or anything."
Klong's mouth opens, and no words come out. He stares at Glim for a good five seconds, processing what happened. The hulking man then bursts into laughter. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha! You get Klong good! Very funny grey man!"
Klong claps the gnome appreciatively on the shoulder with a hand the size of a catcher's mitt, inadvertently causing him to stagger. "Funny! Very funny!"
Klong takes the axe and inspects it, feeling its heft.
Klong takes the axe, and turns it upside down. He then leans into it and starts singing, as if it were some kind of voice amplification device.
Da dah dadadadadada DAAAAAAH DAAAAAAH!!!! Da da dadadadada KILL THE PAAAAIINNNN. KILLLLL THE PAAAINNNNNNN!
The party watches in confusion as Klong sings violently, with large gobs of spittle and sweat landing on the axe. KILLLL MUH PAIN!!!!! Dadadadaaa Daaa daaaa dadadada
Fionula pouts. "Gold is heavy. Hey Klong, can you carry a share for me? Just until we get to a town where I can turn it into something lighter? Like gems."
