Jambiya nods, a little creeped out by the eyeless dead-by-fright body. With the torch staying in the tunnel we've already come through (right?) she will illuminate another dancing light and send both down the southern tunnel slowly, but 60 feet ahead of Erric (so he can see at 60', but further, and nearer, remain in darkness).

The group ventures to the right to the other tunnel and heads south. Smaller like most of the other tunnels, this one goes 30 to 40 feet before opening up into another cave with large rocks. You think it looks pretty familiar, and then you notice Thrakk lying bundled up against the wall to the left. This is the cave where the inevitable betrayal took place.
Oh! Is this a secret entrance we didn't see before when we were resting? It's hard for me to conceptualize... let's just assume we're looking closely for any sign of this magic item Anafrey needs, any kind of hidden thing, all the while we're in this area. If Erric's back with Thrakk, he'll make sure he's still knocked out. He should be hesitant around the orc because we don't understand the mind control at all, but he's not.
"We came back around?" Maldorn sighs. "I'm a bit lost. Besides going deep into the depths of this underground complex, does anyone remember another passage we could explore?"
"I feel a bit lost myself," Jambiya says. "Besides that giant cavern," she points back to where we just came from, "I think we've seen everything? Well, not past where the ferro live, of course. But everything else?"

“Everything, I think, save the steep path down into the Underdark, and I’m not sure what those lights mean. Let’s check for anything else we missed in here, take the ears, and bring Thrakk to the myconids. They might be able to help him or at least keep him from being violent. Then check on the derro.”
He asks Anafrey and Maldorn to help him use a dagger to de-ear the grimlocks.
Anafrey would quickly remove the ears without hesitation. While getting started with the bloody work, she would seem quiet and distracted.
"ok flail, where do we go now... what did we miss?" Anafrey would ask in her mind as she focused on cutting off the ears. "I know you can see things we can't... maybe there will be more things for us to kill and destroy if you help us out a bit." she would say in her mind.
Jambiya takes a moment, while the others keep lookout or engage in their grisly task, to think back on where they have been since descending from the ogre's lair. Now she has a much better idea of what is what. If the derro don't pan out, it looks like the party might be in for a trip to the Underdark.

“Let’s be careful with transporting those ears back to the derro. I have a feeling they’d count as proof of violence if we carry them in the open while traversing the myconid cave.“
Erric pauses and looks at Maldorn. He puts the ears in his bag. "Good idea. Forgot about that. Let's not mention the ears. In fact, we can tell them that Thrakk was in a fight with the grimlocks, who are no longer a threat to peace down here, thanks to us. Sound good?"
The halfling proceeds forward according to that plan unless otherwise stated.
“I can just not tell them things they don’t need to hear, if it comes to that. Saying, or thinking, things that are true, from a certain point of view, and leaving out other things.”
"We don't have to lie," Jambiya points out. "The grimlocks attacked us out of hand. I wasn't looking to fight them, whatever the derro asked us to do. And we have collected the ears to try to help Anafrey, who is our friend. I won't make it worse by lying to them, even if we could."

"Alright. Let's take the orc back to the mushrooms. We acted only in self-defense so we can hope the myconids will understand that. No lies."
Maldorn helps carry Thrakk, and will also help Anafrey and Erric cut the Grimlocks' ears off. If needed, he'll even take the lead on that particularly gruesome task using his field-dressing skills.
-> I don't think anyone rolled for it yet. Maybe it is not needed, but in case it is, here's roll for ear removal:

Maldorn keeps an eye out while Anafrey works on ears, including paying attention on the bound orc just in case he is pretending to be unconscious.

(OOC: Wow thank you!!!)
Erric takes the ears and helps the big folks carry Thrakk back to the myconids.

Erric nods at Jambiya. He still keeps the ears in his pack. He heads into the myconid chamber...
"Yeah I won't be lying to the creatures that can read out minds" Anafrey would reply as she helps haul the orc alongside her companions.

(OOC: Separately, does Maldorn see anything unexpected while keeping a look out as per this post?)
Also very interested, plot-wise, as we are in the Cave if Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal.
