Zook has been enjoying his conversation with Kella, and is certainly intrigued by her answers. He ponders them with a few moments of deep reflection, and then brings his attention back to the situation at hand when Bert and Hawk return from their scouting mission and relay their detailed observations of the village.
“It sounds like there isn’t much left, and judging by what you two saw, there may be few answers that we can here in Nightstone. It’s terrible to hear that more people have died here, hopefully the rest of the townsfolk escaped unharmed.”
”Either way, I’m getting a little impatient, which I’m not entirely comfortable admitting. I usually try to temper my patience and go with the flow, as they say, but this is all a bit overwhelming, so I say let’s wake this little bugger up and see what he can tell us.”
Hawk, the tressym is hesitant but comes to you to take the food. It then seems to hang around its past owners but seems to trust you.
Mandaway, spare the dying stabilises people but doesn't restore consciousness. Stable creatures (which the goblin was stabalised) regain consciousness after 1-4 hours

"Do you all want me to go just put arrows between the eyes of the goblins still out there? Would that make life easier? Seems we're waiting for this goblin to wake up and I'm not sure what it'll tell us that would change what we're doing. Seems the goblins were either working with the big things that threw these rocks, or they came in afterward and started looting the remains. I doubt they've been looking for ways to help these people or this town. Weren't we drawn here to take care of the goblins?"
If Kella's around when we're talking about this, Bert is watching her reaction to see if she's focused on what we're saying, the goblins, or something else. Also how she seems to be reacting when we talk about dead villagers. Insight: 7
Kella is around. She seems to be focused on what you are saying, with occasional glances at the unconscious goblin. When you talk about dead villages you see what looks like a cross between relief at what she escaped, and sadness at death.
Bert, if he notices, tries to ensure that they have the goblin inside somewhere that will block the sound, and he'll try to grab a rag or something to have ready to muffle its mouth in case it starts yelling.
"Krakkan, old dear, your cue. Want to ask him why they're here, what they're doing, where the stones came from, where the nightstone went, where all the villagers went, what their next steps are... you know, the usual."
Bert will help with the intimidation check by playing with a dagger and making strange noises right behind the goblin as he comes to.
During this time, Hawk will head back to the Tressym's home, and spend more time with the creature (bringing some more food and water that he gathered in the Inn, if there was anything in the kitchens). He thinks it's a sign from the Cat-Lord, that another feline creature has crossed his path, and in a moment of need.. He mostly wants to make sure it will survive without its owners.
(OOC: would there be any way to adopt the creature, or is it not something that would really be done without the Find Familiar spell? I guess I'd have to wait until level 3 Ranger with Beast Master archetype for that?)
Mandaway does not want to stick around for the interrogation and follows Hawk at a short distance to see the creature, he has never seen a winged cat before...
Bert, as you are talking to Krakkan about the goblin, it turns to you, looking scared and wiggling in the ropes unable to get out. "You speak fast. What you want with Gum Gum. Gum Gum just want food and shiny"
Hawk and Mandaway, getting back, the Tressym is still there hiding, though it comes out to Hawk showing curiosity but mostly flinching whenever Manadway moves suddenly. You get the impression it is basically just a normal cat, but with wings. (Much like a normal cat, to adopt it just requires earning it's trust and convincing it to follow you. It is possible to do. Though what you do with it in combat would be something to consider)
"There no stone in square. You crazy. Big stone come from bigger stone. Like goblin come from bigger goblin. And you stupid. You ask Gum Gum everything. Do you know nothing. Town people is small question, 6 words only. Some town people dead here. Maybe others not here, maybe never more than here"

Zook grows a little tired and frustrated from listening to Gum Gum ramble on in broken common-speak. Bert's interrogation is getting nowhere, at least it seems that way to him. Perhaps he could be wrong, but by now, the gnome's mind begins to drift. He looks around the room for a small hunk of wood that would have been damaged from the boulder crashing through the roof, picks it up, then goes to sit outside in the sunshine right outside the door of the inn.
He spends the first few minutes meditating and trying to clear his mind from the challenging, questions, decisions and dangers they've experienced so far during this very busy day. Then, pulling out his whittling knife, Zook does his best to carve the chunk of wood into a flower, carefully rounding the sharp corners into soft, curved, detailed petals. When he's finished and satisfied with his handiwork, he blows away any remaining dust and tiny bits of wood, then gets up, walks back inside and gives the carving to Kella.

That is one amazing flower. Kella is taken aback by the gift and puts it in her pocket. "Thank you, though why have you made this for me? You don't know me."
Bert is quietly and heartbreakingly flaggergasted after Gum Gum speaks. He looks at his companions a bit helplessly. Zook is even abandoning him!
"Gum Gum when we got here some goblins attacked us, and some worgs. Do you know why they would do that? Have you attacked people in the village? And where are you from?"
Mandaway moved away so that Hawk could continue undisturbed, as he looked around he compared the size of the boulders strewn about the place with the size of stones the stone giants he lived with used for hunting.
Hawk spends some time talking to the Tressym, sitting on the floor, sharing some food with it, while also having some to eat, recounting his life story (in a nutshell, somewhat):
..... and then we shot arrows at some Greenies, and scouted around the town looking for information, and that's how I found you, here, in this place... Now, I know you can't tell me what happened here, but if you want, you can stick around with us for now until we find the townsfolk, and perhaps we can find you a new home... and someone to take care of you!
After all that he will slowly make his way towards the door of the house, and add in one last word: We are staying at the Inn for now..
Then Hawk returns to the Inn, and asks his companions what he missed.
That is one amazing flower. Kella is taken aback by the gift and puts it in her pocket. "Thank you, though why have you made this for me? You don't know me."
Zook answers with a smile. “Why does the sun provide warmth? Why does cool water quench our thirst? Why do the wildflowers give us such colorful beauty to gaze at on summer afternoons? These are questions that surely have answers, too, but in the grand scheme of things, those answers are largely irrelevant. You are right, I don’t know you, any more than the sunflower at the side of the road knows you when you pass by during your travels and it shows you its bright yellow petals, but why should that matter?”
Bert, the goblin replies: "Maybe because you look like you kill us with weapons? Maybe because you taste nice. You feed many goblin. Elf taste nice. You first not dead people in village. Not attack anyone. And I come from home. Where you come from?"
Mandaway: They are similar, to get a better feel for how they compare, make an investigation check.
Hawk: You get the feeling that the Tressym doesn't understand you, but it definitely seems to trust you. It partly follows you back but when you get a small distance away it flies back home.
Mandaway headed over to the unconcious goblin and tried to rouse it, he threw in a little of Eldaths mercy as well to see if that would help.
Spare the Dying. ( Almost certainly won't do anything but its worth a try as a wake up.)
