Sildar stops eating and looks over at Kaldor and stares at him for a long moment, so long in fact you think he is not going to answer you or did not hear your full question before he replies. Business. This is all he says before grabbing the pitcher of water and filling his cup, then returning to his meal.
(we are waiting for our last member to respond at this point for the introduction, please keep RP characters, Sildar will open up eventually)
As Gundren comes back into the room, Sildar just finishing his meal stands and leaves with his plate and cup. Gundren looks at everyone slowly, catching each eye before saying I hope your food has been good so far. You shan't be lacking for food nor drink tonight, and there'll be some more in the mornin. I got 4 room keys here and also the first half of the gold I owe ye. He sets the keys down on the table and hands out the gold in individual coin purses all of varying color. Inside these you will find your coin and a note signed by me, when you deliver the goods to Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin, You will be taking a wagon of supplies to Phandalin and they will be checked by Barthen upon arrival, I had made contact with a rather odd person that was supposed to be joining you lot, but he ain't showed up yet. If he does show up there is a note in the wagon detailin his payment for the full amount. I expect you'll keep track of how much help he's worth from the amount written if he does show up, and if he doesn't well I guess I save some coin then eh? Barthen will give you the remainder of your payments after he checks that nothin is missin, I plan to have left before y'all arrive there to attend to some other business. As we talked about before, just deliver the goods is all I need, they ain't worth much but as a business man like me-self, you tend to pay for transport, and I'm payin well for this wee little hike. I know there be five of ye, but I only have 4 spare rooms for the night. Shouldn't be an issue to get acquainted a day earlier eh? He laughs at the last part. He then picks up the pitcher of ale, walks over to the door and yells Natalia we need more ale in here. S'more Mead too. Sildar walks back in through the open door and moves over to the corner of the room. Gundar walks over to a counter in the wall and opens a drawer and pulls out an oversized stein then pours the ale into it and drains it all. He leaves the pitcher there on the counter and comes back over and fills it with mead from the pitcher on the table. So what questions do ye have for me?
Natalia walks in and sets to refilling all the pitchers, raising an eyebrow at the oversized stein in his hand but not saying a word about it.
(If hotshotjoe joins us it will be good, but he said he was busy so I am keeping a place for him may 'catch up' before we leave town)
Varax takes his pouch and stows it for now. "Aye! To good business!" he raises his mug of mead and then downs it in good cheer. "As for questions...hmmm...is there any known danger along our path? Anything we should be prepared for?"
Gundren finishes his mead before he replies, Well I been hearin tale o goblins, but I ain't seen any meself. He then pours a refill of ale, and begins to slow his pace it seems for now at least, I just made a trip down dere last week, and I saw nuffin out of the ordanary. I wouldn't expect much
To your health and good business! Branagh downs his ale.
Goblins you say? Violent little buggers they are, like mini landlocked Sahuagin. May Talos bless your journey Gundren. Branagh will stay for a little while longer before availing himself of a room and taking his downpayment with him to bed
Yeah, supposed goblins, I ain't seen none. But that don't mean they ain't there. Gundren says. Heard a rumor there was someone attacked, but tis just that so far. There be signs in the road Kaldor, don't get yer knickers in a bunch now. It's just some mining supplies you be deliverin for me next business adventure. Barathen is the owner of Barathen's Provisions. It be the only general store in town. Ter get ter town, just head south erlong The High Road, for a ways, turn east after the sign for Phandalin, then at the next sign turn back south at de fork an about an 2-3 hours after ye turn the lot of you should be there. There be a map in the cart with the papers for White Horn I think it was, the druid that was here, a strange one he is. But seemed up to the task. Alas, no cryin over spilled ale, just fill er back up again and dring er till she be empty! He then laughs, drinks the rest of his mugs contents and laughs some more.
I always like to be perpared.(he pronounced prepared incorrectly)Gundren responds, lifting his oversized stein in a salute, and then draining it. He then gets up and moves over to the counter he got his stein from, and pulls out a bottle of unlabeled dark amber liquid. He pulls out a tray of shot glasses and says, Ill give ye one apiece after dinner, but before I do ye better decide the rooms ye be stayin in. Dont want anyone sleepin round here and there ain't nuff rooms so not everyone gets thier own. Natalia walks in as he is pulling out the bottle, she says nothing but the look on her face seems to say it all. She looks at Branagh and says If there is not enough rooms and as you al do not know each other, Branagh can stay at my house, I have the extra room. Winks at him again and heads out to get more ale and mead in the pitchers.
You will meet with me in the morning, afore first light, Sildar and meself be leaving at first light too. Gundren responds, he pours a shot for everyone and says, This be me own brew, let me know what ye think of me brandy. I also make rum and whisky, but tonight I'm a feelin Brandy. It's a bit stonger than ye normally find.
Natalia says, You will only need one shot and it will be off to bed more than likely for you, so if you are not ready for it, I wouldn't take it yet.
Natalia you are my own personal angel. Friends I shall leave you to the comforts of this fine establishment my guardian angel has descended and provided safe haven for this weary sailor. He grins roguishly at the group. I grew up here in Neverwinter but always left by sea but the roads should be easy enough for us to traverse.
Niche was scraping her plate clean when Gundren came in, she quickly set down her cutlery and stared intently at what he’s carrying. Once the pouch with her payment was set down in front of her, the little halfling quickly took it up and counted what’s inside with surprising deftness, casting a few sideways glance at other people’s pouches for glimpses of their payment for comparison and notes where they stashed their pouch away. She stayed mostly quiet during the bulk of the conversation between Kal and Gundren, only shaking her head when the inquisitive human asked if anyone was native to Neverwinter and casting a concerned glance at the dwarf when he mentioned Goblins. “New business venture huh? Anything good to be found at your mine?” She asked with curiosity before hooking a room key over with the tail of her fork, flicks it up and catches it in her hand, “And I’ll have a room to myself if ya big guys don’t mind. Important to get a good nights sleep before getting up early.”
When Gundren started to distribute his brandy, she heeded Natalia’s warning and pushes the brandy shot offered to her back to the centre of the table, “Very kind of ya but I’d like to keep my head sharp for now. But since you said we won’t be lacking for food either, I wouldn’t mind another order of beef stew in replacement for all the liquor?” She gestured to her cup, “If anyone wants another shot feel free.”

Well, wouldn't be much of a new business venture if I went blabbing bout it to everyone dat just asked about how I make me coin, HA-HA Gundren says, toasting his shot, and taking it. as Niche pushes her shot away, Gundren's mood darkens momentarily, but once you mention you are focused more on the job he says. Well, if ye know you want to keep a sharp head for the job, I won't be takin no offence. Sildar also never drinks before a job...after though is a difrnt story though. He chuckles low and lightly. If you be looking for the room yer keys go to, they be stamped into the key, an the rooms are all upstairs.

Natalia walks over and whispers in your ear, and while she does this she takes something from down her blouse and puts it in his pocket.
Angels are said to be good and pure, and while I do have the extra 'space' available in my house, it happens to be next to me in my bed. Here is my key, I am sure you remember where I live still, same place it was before you left town last, only this time you had better not pass out on the way there, I don't often give second chances...
After this little conversation she leaves and returns with a big bowl of beef stew for Niche.
Current time is just about sunset as you can see through the window. When Natalia gets back from feting some beef stew for Niche, she informs them this, To you who have not frequented here before, we stop serving at dusk, and open the kitchen for breakfast about an hour before first light, so if you are wanting some grub in the morning, be here then if you plan on leaving at first light.
“A’ight, a good business man has to keep a few secrets.” Niche shrugged when Gundren didn’t let up any more information and didn’t intend to ask further. Once she sensed that Gundren had taken offence to her action, she quickly responded to sooth his mood, "Well um I try to stay off liquor in general really, they don’t sit too well with me. Ah, but I’m sure what you got is good stuff even without tasting it.”
She grinned at the the size of the bowl Natalia brought her and eagerly dug in once more after a cheerful thank you, one wouldn’t think her stomach could hold anything else after the sizeable serving of house special but sure enough she’s downing the stew at quite a rapid speed too, only pausing to watch Branagh make his way out hastily with a cheeky grin on her face, “Bit eager for his Lady favours innit.”

To Rockseeker
Got a few questions (ticking them off his fingers)
What are we transporting? How long to this Phandalin? Got directions or a map? I'm not familiar with this area. How will we know this Barathen?
To the others
Any of you native to this area?
Then Kal opens the pouch with the payment to inspect it.

Few more questions Where do we pick up these supplies? Who's in charge of this mission?
To the group, in general
Movin' out at first light?
Kal grabs one of the keys Rockseeker brought in, not really caring which one he grabs. He finishes his meal and drink.
