As the Void Skipper closes on the Astral Portal, various members of the crew who stay on deck receive individually packed dinner boxes, containing a warm gourd of some kind of stew, a piece of delectably roasted chicken wrapped in a thin flatbread, an orange, sliced and recomposed, each layer with its own special seasoning (mint, cinnamon, and caramel). As he hands out the packages to those still on deck, he winks, and whispers something about how he will be better prepared next time
Below in the mess, those gathered are treated to a three course meal, beginning with a stew, with rice, beans, and some leafy plant matter floating in a clear green liquid. The result is cool on the tongue, slightly salty, and leaves the mouth slightly numbed. Sweet will answer no questions as to other ingredients. Following the soup, Sweet and Mort, whom he introduces as his assistant, creation, and occasional regret, reveal two large roasted chicken, a la rotisserie, golden-skinned and crisp, but tender within. Add a touch of rosemary and a dip in a rum-sauce for extra flavor.
To finish, sliced oranges on three platters, each with a different accompaniment (as with the packed meals, mint, cinnamon, and caramel). As the crew eats, Sweet begins to sing softly, humming contentedly and clearing away dishes with startling efficiency and grace for one so large. Those who listen close can just hear him reciting recipes under his breath as he serves. "...175 degrees, hold the egg yolks for the finishing touch. Set to boil, three peppers, black salt, dark-fish to filet and crisp in a parmesan dressing...no, no, that's not right. Parmesan crust - now we're talking."
PSA: I, as a player, know relatively little about cooking. Try these recipes at your own risk (cinnamon with oranges is really good though - classic North African dessert.)
After Aella has helped Zeng fill out the paperwork (I assume) Zeng will ask, “What should I do now ma’am?” Looking curiously at the papers on the desk, Zeng notices they’re in Primordial and starts to read them to themselves.
In spite of his failure to create an actual weapon, Alphonse takes the time to admire his craftmanship before pocketing it. He gets up from the bench a proceeds to explore the ship, seeing as he hasn't taken the time to do so yet.
( the door is unlocked you can leave zeng, Im very sorry everyone I has an exam in the next two days and such so for now aella is going to be filling out job applicant forms will rejoin at the weekend again im very sorry )
Once the deck is cleaned off from the sand and soot Addison will seek out Leuceus knowing Aella is currently busy. Avoiding eye contact he will ask "I've cleaned the deck from the storm, Sir. Is there anything else you you require my assistance for?"
As the various crew members finish their meals and wander off, Sweet happily begins the process of cleaning, scrubbing, and generally making the ship's mess spotless. He leaves off early, though, leaving Mort to slowly scrub the larger pots, pans, and dishes. His large, lamp-like eyes brood emptily over the soapy bubbles, its hands each full of either dirty dishes, cleaning towels, or rough-tipped brushes. Sweet, on the other hand, takes a brief tour of the deck, his orange-gold eyes basking in the infinite glory of Limbo's non-horizon. In the meantime, he completes another quick but thorough search of the ship's hold, making sure of no further stowaways before coming to the deck to appreciate the impending passage through the portal.

After being given the okay to leave, Zeng nods and walks out of the room to finish their look around the ship. Going up on deck, they squint to see if there is anything else trying to fly towards them.
Zeng sees the portal in the distance! Not the swirling vortex they may have expected, reality instead just seems to bleed into a magenta haze of thought up ahead. It is quite trippy to look at.
As we approach, Sweet takes a moment to muse to himself out loud. "When we are to be arriving, how is it that we are planning on selling our wares? Are the arrangements premade before our departure, or shall we have to take the best bargains we can manage? If we are arranging the details of sale and exchange, perhaps we should for to be having a primary talker, yes, on whom to build our deals. Perhaps a strategy, private communication, so forth."
Shipping magnate Uweya left instructions with the captain in the form of a letter; you are first to meet a Marid at the docks of the Citadel of a Thousand Pearls by the name of Shah Masihah. He will handle the first exchange of psionic crystal for devil-shark meat.
Breeze - once done with fiddling around with things about the ship - decides to get some shut eye. Grabbing her things and hopping into one of the hammocks. She falls asleep easy until someone wakes her, or something happens.
Seeing the portal, Zeng looks around and notices the crow’s nest. They climb up and sit on the edge, feeling more comfortable as this feels more like what they’re used to. Floating through the void towards anything and everything, Zeng changes their appearance, their previously baggy clothing stretching out and fitting more tightly to this larger body, to look like a red skinned tiefling with delicate straight horns and purple eyes. Speaking to themselves in a deeper and more baritone voice than they had previously, they say, “There ya go Zeng, one step closer to finding me. Now all you have to do is search this whole blasted portal-pocked minefield, avoid those damned slaads, and hope that I’m alive. Get it Zeng? Get it? Hope? Oh you never laugh at that joke, killjoy.” Turning back into their previous form, Zeng says in the first voice, “I’ll laugh at your jokes when I find you Hope, I’ll make sure of it.” Climbing back down, Zeng will prepare however they can to go through the portal.
Sweet gives Zeng a long glance as she descends. "For to be forgiving me for my impatience earlier. The rosemary crust was moments from carnage, and it was... good to move swiftly. I trust you are not damaged from your time hiding in my cupboards?"
Stopping to talk to Sweet, Zeng smiles and says politely, “It is my fault. I am fine thank you. The cupboard was very comfortable and warm. It made me very tired, and so I slept. Have you seen the portal yet? It is very pretty.” Zeng seems to forget what they’re doing and stares out at the portal. “Yes a portal that could lead anywhere at all. Isn’t that exciting?”
It's not a sudden change; you slowly drift into the domain of the dreamlike Astral Plane. Here there is no time or space; it is a realm of thought, not a true plane so much as the space between.
Your next task will be finding a color pool leading to the Plane of Water.
The dishes being done and put away, Mort joins Sweet on the railing, searching the shifting dreamscape for something resembling the ideal color poo Though, as his attention is limited when not focused on a specific cooking project, he shortly begins to sing to himself. It's off tune, the words slurred and colored by his accent, but the tune is barely recognizable. "I-eeve geot allovleey baunch ef coconots. Fedlidee. Eaall ef them astandeeng ene raow."

Zeng, still standing next to Sweet, bobs their head in time with the tune, not knowing it but enjoying the song as they also look around for a pool of blue color.

Breeze serves up dinner. Then eats it. Happily.
But once she finishes her meal, she begins to scurry off to other parts of the ship. Off to find whatever odds and ends may be lying around.
