Derrikoth adjusts his monocle as he turns towards the other two, pausing on Nirzeg, “Unfortunate,” before addressing Alus, “Good morn to you, my name is Lord Derrikoth Toknal, of House Toknal. I don’t believe we’ve met yet.”
With a mouthful of food, Alus stands up at attention and dusts some crumbs off his breastplate. Through his food he says:
"Hey man, the name's Alus. But you can call me Al."
Alus grabs Derrikoth's hand and shakes it vigorously. Then he sits back down.
"So Lord Protector this afternoon--then Mithyri tonight..."
Alus pulls some water out of his tankard using Shape Water and forms it into a thin circle that hovers in front of his face, through which he peers at his new companions. His face is distorted by the water and the sound of his voice becomes a bit muffled.
Nirzeg isn't actually around. Nor had he come down that morning. Instead, the odd Flying Monkey that appeared to have some times to the man could be seen tearing into his own breakfast near the group. A sign hangs from his neck saying, "With you in Spirit. Your's Truly, -Nirzeg."
That said, Derrikoth could swear he saw the GIth briefly on the rooftop of the Inn, lazing about for whatever reason. Then again, it could have just been a trick of the wind. Those that examine the sign closer however can flip it around without complain from the monkey, revealing a message, "Monkey See, I Hear."
Astra pulls out a set of dice. "Well, we can play this game I heard of called Dungeons and DragonsAvondra's Favor. You roll two of these six-sided dice and they come up on a 7 or a 12, you win."

As Astra finishes the end of he sentence, Alus sneezes, accidentally releasing the Shape Water cantrip. The water plummets onto the table with a big splash and tt catches the dice in its wake, sending them tumbling onto the floor.
Startled, the Monkey hisses at Alus, and throws a half-eaten apple at Alus' head. Angry little fistshakes and monkey chittering follows the act. The moment either Alus or another tries to go for it though, it hops off and flutters up to the rafters to stare balefully down at the Cleric. A few moment's passes before its eyes glaze over all of a sudden. Flying off to find a writing utensils and some paper, it returns to the group and scribbles down, "Mayhaps instead of games of chance you all seek to supply yourself?" before holding it up to Derrokith. The message is a little garbled and clear shortcuts were made to make up the difference for the monkey's limited capacity. The point was clear enough.

Genevieve waved off the idea of a game and instead I observed the monkey who was sitting in for Nirzeg for a time before the water had splashed on her metal form. It was difficult to tell if she had been upset at the ordeal (at most her eyebrows furrowed), the construct quickly removing her red sash on her waist to wipe away any water on her. “I do hope for your sake I do not rust, aqua man.”
She sets her sash aside to dry as the two conversed by writing, Genny tilting her head to the side. “This primate is rude. Shall I eradicate it for us?”

Small beads of water bubble off of Genevieve's metal body and out from her red sash, floating through the air and accumulating into a cup-sized sphere in front of Alus, using Shape Water to dry the affected areas of his companions and their surroundings. He returns the water to his tankard, picks it up, throws Genevieve a wink and a smile, and then takes a sip. He quickly turns his head and spits it out in a large spray, the water now tasting like a mix of dust and dirt from the floor, monkey fur, and Genny's perfume.
You are able to spend the morning meandering around town, and wherever you go, you seem to generate a little buzz. People nod, point, or smile at you, and one even mentions the gargoyles last night. The market square feels a little more upbeat today.
Around highsun, however, the town is shaken from its peacefulness by the screams of women and children, followed by a man yelling, “Giants! Run!” Perplexed residents and shopkeepers emerge from their domiciles in time to see a large rock fall from the sky and crash onto an old cart, splintering it!
As a cloud of dust erupts from the wreckage, a second rock hits the ground, tumbles through a fence, and slams against the wall of a building, startling a pair of mules tethered to a post nearby. All around you, people begin to shriek and scatter.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Genevieve musters up a giggle from her voice box seeing Alus spit out the water as she reties the sash around her waist again. "I believe it is time for you to get a new batch of water, hm?" She questions playfully. "I would like to wander about the streets of the town and see what it has to offer. If you lot wish to join me it is up to you. See you all tonight." She gives the others a quick wave before strolling out into town.
--
The screams were ignored at first, the construct continuing looking at a new scarf she could definitely use for future performances. It went well with her teal tones after all, a color that complimented her well. Another scream. "Oh for goodness sake," She puts the scarf back where she found it (having not noticed the shop keep had ran after the first warning of giants) and slams the door on her way back outside, her eyes flaring red. The robot pulls a running civilian by the back of their shirt and asks (angrily), "Where are they?!" And when she gets an answer, she runs in the direction given.

The monkey waggles its bushy little brows suggestively at Genevieve's suggestion. His disappointment swiftly turns to annoyance at Alus for the second spit take. A fact made clear with much more chitters, and angry fistshakes on its way out the door to presumably explore as well.
Nirzeg didn't care to do much walking around himself, so trusted the familiar to do much of the eyeballing. In the meantime, he stayed upon his rooftop perch, and kept busy tinkering on something. He almost missed the scream, having started to doze off mid-work on... something. The crash wakes him up right quick, and after a panicked look around manages to spy dust cloud eruption. "Oh what is it now, Zeek?"He says as he takes a moment to look through familiar eyes, sees the rock, and does some quick calculations to see whether to look off in the distance... or up for danger.

As Derrikoth hears the sound of boulders crashing and wood splintering, he pales slightly and stutters, "P-p-perhaps there's no need-" but cuts off as he sees everyone else move towards the danger. After composing himself, he shouts, "I will defeat these giants! Stand back civilians!" and mounts his horse before following the party.
In the fray of running townsfolk, there are a handful of civilians that you see running towards the danger! Among them are the Lord Protector Darathra Shendrel and the owner of Northshield House, Urgala Meltimer.
Depending on where you are in town, you may also see the caravaneer Darz Helgar, the leatherworker Othovir, and the old dwarven blacksmith Ghelryn Foehammer, standing against the tide, readying weapons of various sorts.
// These NPCs are yours to control for this battle, as well as your own player characters. Each NPC has varying levels of power, and each one has a specific reward to give you (e.g. quests, letters of recommendation, etc), should they survive the battle alongside you. //
On the east side of town, you here screams and see little beings, creatures made of fire, running after the civilians; as well as a handful of hulking, armored warriors with blue skin, tusks jutting from their mouths, and huge axes in hand. The tiny fire elementals are also climbing up buildings to set them on fire.
And approaching the center of town from the west, towering giants! Two of them, male and female, hair blazing red, all clad in plate armor. Both of them carry impossibly massive swords over their shoulders, and one (the female) grasps some strange-looking, gleaming metal fork in her left hand.
Ahead of the giants, a squad of riders—gray-skinned orcs, riding atop some ridiculous looking, flightless birds—is clearing the market square, smashing whatever they can reach from the backs of their feathered mounts.

Triboar Center
Alus, Genny, Derrikoth, and Nirzeg arrive at the town center to find it under attack by vicious orcs, all of whom are riding axe beaks and wielding crude spears. Two massive, armored fire giants are approaching from the west and will be upon you soon. They stride purposefully, ignoring the screaming townsfolk and allowing the orcs to run amok. The people standing with you are the determined leader Darathra, the crafty Othovir, the shifty Darz, and the brave Foehammer, who is running pellmell from his smithy at the north of town, determination set in his bearded face.
East Triboar
Astra, who was close to Northshield House at the time of the attack, finds Urgala running out of the house to meet the onslaught of orogs and little magmins. She has a bow in her hands, and when she sees Astra, she breathes a sigh of relief.
