Nirzeg is able to slay the last ogre with another mighty swing of his soul blade.
As for the hill giant: although she seems to have resisted the effects of Genny’s spell, the combined effort of the dissonant whispers and Astra’s eldritch blast reduce the giantess to tears. She throws herself to the ground, kicking and screaming incoherently—a truly epic tantrum.

"Someone is awfully excitable once the blood gets going."Nirzeg deadpans as he went from watching gobs flee to looking back up at the bird man. Whether the two survive or not, seeing no other threats on the field, he casually drops the blade to the ground, leaving it to disperse into a cloud fo smoke. As for Zeek, he makes his way over to Derrikoth's shoulder for good measure if allowed to, but would settle for hovering nearby otherwise.
"Feh! Oi! Big D. I trust ya got things situated over there, ya? I'm gonna go see what's in the bag. Hollar if ya need me." He shouts over the man before grudgingly wading his way back over to the other side of the river. Wickerman, on the otherhand, starts fluttering closer to the giant, if only to be in range of a good fire spit should she turn hostile again.
Action: (2nd level)Cure Wounds on Derrikoth for 10.
Derrikoth points his sword at the giant, still feeling strength coursing through his veins, shouts to the giant in Jotun "Oi! Stop crying like a baby and answer my questions! Why are you filthy giants all the way out here? How do we get you bastards to go home? Where the hell is Harshnag?"
If at any point the giant seems too distracted to answer/listen, he'll climb up on her face and punch her in the nose (nonlethally, if she's that low) and repeat his question.
The giant doesn't respond at first, but Derrikoth's giant-powered punch is enough to get her attention. She backs away from the magical flame and the inexplicably strong Derrikoth.
"Puny dragon strong," she sobs. "Leave Lob alone. Lob just get food for Guh."
A banner crafted from a thick, red fabric. It measures 5 feet high and 3 feet wide. Some kind of runic design is displayed on the fabric, with round metal plates sewn into it. It feels magical.
As Nirzeg is just pondering whether or not to start clipping off the whole toes or simply the nails from the giant corpse once things are more settled, he reaches the bag and starts fussing with it. "****'n course. Stupid bastards... Wait... What's this..." After closing his nose through some internal means the Githyanki carefully withdraws the cast of ale, banner, and flat iron rod; eyeing them each with varying degrees of curiosity. "Find out if she's another hunter or not?"He calls out absently to the interrogators without really looking in their direction. And if there's a reply, he only partially catches, as the most of his focus immediately goes to the long process of identifying the more magically feeling items;starting with the flat iron rod before moving on to banner.
Meanwhile, once Zeek saw the spirit had Derrikoth covered, the cat flutters away to start searching goblin bodies for anything shiny or interesting. A curious Wickerman is not far behind, assisting in the effort.

With strength temporarily equal to his target’s, and a much better kit & intellect, Derrikoth has the advantage. The hill giant turns around just in time to see the dragonborn run his lance through her chest. She collapses in a heap, dead.

And if there's a reply, he only partially catches, as the most of his focus immediately goes to the long process of identifying the more magically feeling items;starting with the flat iron rod before moving on to banner.
The flat iron rod has a button on one end. Magically identifying it shows that it has the properties of an immovable rod. How it came to be in the possession of the giant, you're not sure.
The banner is a curious piece of equipment. Nirzeg can tell that it was created by ancient magic, but what that magic is, he isn't sure. It has something to do with the rune emblazoned on the banner. Furling or unfurling the banner requires an action. The banner has the following properties:
Mark of Courage. As a bonus action, you can touch the unfurled banner and cause it to emanate courage. You and your allies are immune to the frightened condition while within 20 feet of it. This benefit lasts for 10 minutes or until the banner is furled. Once you use this property, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Sentinel Standard. You can see invisible creatures while they are within 20 feet of the unfurled banner and within your line of sight.
Standard’s Shield. As a bonus action, you can touch the unfurled banner and invoke this power. Any ranged attack roll that targets you or an ally of yours has disadvantage if the target is within 20 feet of the unfurled banner. This benefit lasts for 1 minute or until the banner is furled. Once you use this property, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Gift of Battle. This property requires more study, but you know that it is a ritual which involves permanently transferring the rune's power to another surface.
Nirzeg breaks out into a nervous sweat as he held the rod in hand. Several times he had to peek past the bag at an approach group then back to the rod, biting his lips as well before long. Finally he lets out a great sigh and mutters a curse. "A deal's a deal. No intentionally making fun of the noble for the sake of the mission... But I better keep this one for myself least the more unscrupulous steal that line." Grumbling, he puts away the rod, but would reveal the details about the Banner once the group were well on their way.
Before then, however, he takes what little time there may remain to check over the other corpses upon the field at least closest to first hill giant. That, and harvest some hill giant nails for some future experimentation from both bodies. If anyone complains about timing, he merely points to Derrikoth and reminds them of the titanic feat just /one/ potion of hill giant strength. "Now I cannot be /absolutely/ certain I can replicate the formula. But having the chief ingredient on hand to test couldn't hurt."Once he had the go ahead, he starts furiously working, fueled as much by passion as he was by the Salve of Inspiration from Wickerman.
Not even the foul smell of giant feet could keep from following through on the dream!
Derrikoth finds the corpse stripped of most belongings, save for his clothes and a signet ring. The ring bears the crest of the Daerivoss family, of Neverwinter. The three brothers that you met in Noanar's Hold, the ones who told you that they were going out hunting for hill giants, belonged to this family.
Turning the corpse over, you recognize the face—it is the eldest brother, who had introduced himself to you as Rantharl.
Does Rasa notice Nirzeg pocketing the rod? He wouldn't have been actively watching Nirz, no reason to be suspicious, but his passive perception is decent.
Derrikoth grimaces as he stands from the body, taking the signet ring as he does so.
"It seems your elk friend was right, Rasa. This man definitely was not killed by any giant. Once we have a bit of time, I will deliver this ring and the news to the family, so that justice may be done."
