Marthun turns. Many eyes in the tavern are now following you, captivated as they were by Genny’s performance. He looks around at the tavern’s other patrons. He seems as if he is about to speak up. But then Lezryk makes an impatient gesture with his head, clearly suggesting Let’s go, now!
Marthun grimaces and bows curtly to Genevieve. “I am sorry ma’am, we appreciated your music, but my brother and I are still too sad about our eldest brother—May he Rest In Peace—to talk about our fight with the hill giant.”
Derrikoth scowls as the brothers leave, following them outside. One the tavern door shuts behind them, he addresses them curtly, "Now that we're out here, cut the crap. I found your brother's corpse, and it certainly wasn't a giant that did him in. So unless one of you would like to confess, I can't let you just walk out of here."
He readies an attack if either of them strikes at him.
Lezryk scratches the back of his head, chuckling as if amused...then he shoves his unsuspecting older brother to the ground, and books it down the muddy street!
Before long, the brash younger brother Lezryk is in chains, on charges of fratricide. You have been handsomely rewarded by his brother, Marthun, who discretely professes his innocence in the whole thing. He has paid you very well to keep quiet about all this, and sadly says he will be returning to Neverwinter a much poorer man.
Leaving Olostin's Hold behind, you plug on towards Everlund. Summer rain falls upon you on the first day of journey, causing the already rough Evermoor Way to become quite muddy. The going is slow and tedious, but you are eventually able to make it to the walled city of Everlund in the later afternoon of the second day. A large caravan of merchants happens to be traveling with you from Olostin's Hold, though they mostly keep to themselves.
The imposing, blackstone Moongleam Tower stands clearly visible as you approach. It rises from one of the higher knolls in the city and consists of four narrow, cylindrical towers joined together, with a silvered mirror, shaped like a crescent moon, adorning the top.
You have a mission from Lord Protector Darathra Shendrel of Triboar. Do you wish to proceed directly to completing that mission, or is there any business you'd like to first conduct in Everlund?
(The picture shows Moongleam Tower at night, though it's still sunny out right now)
It would be hours before anyone sees or hears of Nirzeg again. In that time, Zeek has faithfully kept the group company, or more accurately Derrikoth in particular. Even if the Dragonborn proved particularly reticent about the unspoken arrangement. During this time as well, any inquiry into the Gith's whereabouts to the Tressym are met with a blank look, or awwkard attempts at a shrug.
The Gith in question is far from idle. While it took far longer than he would've preferred to find other Zhent agents in town, not to mention more coin as well, Nirzeg accomplished his mission. The two that aided him in the search were compensated as promised. But perhaps out of fear of their good fortune drying up as soon as the Gith left, one tiefling and half-orc would accept another job; if not for their own sake, then the sake of their family left behind in town. Though it would take days, the two -- alongside a small Zhentarim mercenary band 'hired' on as protection detail -- would travel back Evermore way, quietly retrieve Alus' body, and continue on to Waterdeep. At which point contact would be made with the emerald enclave(or was it Harpers?) to see not only his body given a proper send off, but some coin being passed along to whoever counted as next of kin.
For all of his crassness, devil-may-care attitude, and miserly ways, Nirzeg spared little of his own expense for the whole thing. A fact the carrier's might've shared accidentally or not, but no name to tie the deed to himself; only a message: A debt was due. A debt is paid. See this foolish seaman disembarks with the proper send off.
With that, the mercs were then to direct the couriers to other Zhent agents to begin their official training and induction into The Family. One hundred gold paid forward in two gems for the Courier's Future. Two Hundred gold in gems for the decent mercs to guard and teach along the way. Another hundred gold for funeral arrangements. And the remainder of Alus' Two Hundred and Eighty gold to be dispersed to the relevant next of kin. And not a single dragon exchanged is regretted by Nirzeg when he first watch things unfold back in Olostin's Hold.
When later he returns and hears of the excitement that befell the group, the Gith merely chuckled at most of it. "All in all. Sounds like it was fortuitous that we followed through on that misadventure in the woods. Let's hope the Lady Tymora continues to bury us in good fortune. Oh, and by the way Jenny dear? I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But when I last examined you, I found a few troubling details. Catastrophic even, if left be."From there, he ushers her and Astra aside to explain his founding in simpler terms. All of which boiled down to a somewhat serious overhaul in her new future. "I'd apologizing for not saying anything sooner, but that ain't my ****'n way. I needed the time to see, and found myself proven right with the way you've been moving about. Way I see it? As soon as we reach Everlund, we see about getting those replacements plates. But it ain't gonna be cheap."He forewarns.
Aside from answering in further questions, he leaves things there; only to find Wickerman's half-melted down state. Devastated, Nirzeg let a single tear to be shed at the sight... but, is immediately on the job again, refashioning the remains into a very, VERY special flask....
Present:
"Just when I thought you primes aren't capable of a damn, ya manage to build something actually worth while." Nirzeg comments on while staring up at the Tower. "Heh. Be that as it may, we can wax on about that crap some other time. Now, I'd be all for seeing about that Lord Protector business. But, seeing as Jenny needs some maintenance work, I'm gonna have to leave that to the rest of you. Unless ya'll don't mind waiting? Shouldn't take more than an hour to find the armor and bits we need to fix her up."
Experimental Elixir Roll for the Day: 4.
Swiftness. The drinker’s walking speed increases by 10 feet for 1 hour.
The Above is tied to the Experimental Elixir's Feature:
Beginning at 3rd level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can magically produce an experimental elixir in an empty Flask or Tankard;flask you touch. Roll on the Experimental Elixir table for the elixir’s effect, which is triggered when someone drinks the elixir. As an action, a creature can drink the elixir or administer it to an incapacitated creature.
Creating an experimental elixir requires you to have alchemist's supplies;alchemist’s supplies on your person, and any elixir you create with this feature lasts until it is drunk or until the end of your next long rest.
When you reach certain levels in this class, you can make more elixirs at the end of a long rest: two at 6th level and three at 15th level. Roll for each elixir’s effect separately. Each elixir requires its own flask.
You can create additional experimental elixirs by expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher for each one. When you do so, you use your action to create the elixir in an empty flask you touch, and you choose the elixir’s effect from the Experimental Elixir table.
"I have not met this Lord Protector. Pero I would think it best that we, how you say, fly as one flock, yes? Let us see to whatever business we have individually if we must, but let us regroup before we meet with this House of Danivarr."
Rasa will be most interested in shopping for magic items, to the extent they were available in this city, an eye specifically towards items that could be useful in his spell casting. He will also look to acquire some rope--100ft of it, if possible--to use as spell components.
Genevieve could be seen admiring the tower once it came to view, mentally noting how pretty it was and she wondered what wonders were inside. Something boring probably, but it was still an interesting sight nonetheless. She's brought back to attention when she hears Nirzeg mention her name, only for the bard to look down at her sad frame, the metal plating not as protective as it once was now and definitely not as pretty. If she could express sadness, she would definitely be showing it right now.
"I don't want to show up to this meeting with the Protector like this," She comments, her tone melancholy. "I hope the people in the city are nice with their discounts..."

"Glad to see you agree, Birdy."Nirzeg grins crookedly. Yet, the first time he opens his mouth, the Gith hesitated for moment with a thoughtful expression on his face before scowling and glaring at the skies. "You... Mn... Tell you what, Iron Maiden. You help me secure the attention of a magical sellsman later, and we'll be even. No need for coin. This time." He said, looking at Astra and Genieve with arms folded and a complicated expression.
"Now. Let's get you some studded leather, and all fixed up proper. And maybe some plate for you, Big D... assuming Thunder there can take the excess weight."As soon as the last word comes out, Nirzeg holds up his hands. "Just saying. Even a beast of a fine breed has its limits." Short of their being more from the others on that point, Nirzeg more than eagerly makes for whatever amounted to a shopping district in Everlund. And hopefully some halfway decent stabling to boot.
Nirzeg's Shopping List(For the Record):
Assuming Everlund counts as Lord's Alliance Territory for the purpose of those Promissory Notes:
------------ Out of Nirzeg's 2,000gp "share" of the 10,000 -------------- 4 normal healing potions -> 200gp 20 flasks of oil - 2gp Wagon -> 35gp Warhorse(x2) -> 800gp Chain Shirt Barding(x2) -> 400gp 2 Skilled Hirilings for 100gp worth of time 5 Bags of Ball Bearings -> 5gp 5 bags of Caltrops -> 5gp 10 days of Rations -> 5gp 10 days of Feed(x3) -> 3gp(to be kept in bag of holding) Silvering of Great Sword & Longsword -> 200gp
Total:1,755gp
To sell: Original Cart -> ??? Orog Plate(x5) -> ??? (w/ Derikoth's help on negotiating price)
Derrikoth rides into Everlund, ecstatic at the group's newfound wealth. He doesn't question its source, seeming to take it as the natural reward for justice. He is eager to find himself and Josephus a new set of armor. His own is polished and kept clean, though that can only do so much to hide the battering it's taken. Josephus's, on the other hand, is almost as good as new.
"New armor would certainly not be amiss, to reflect our status. We have two items for an innkeeper, who must clearly be of some status if both the Lord Protector and Lady Tamalin recommend him. We would certainly not want to make a poor first impression."
Everlund's Great Armory is replete with blacksmiths and forges, who are working around the clock to outfit an impressive army.
These armorers, more than willing to deal with an emissary from the Lords' Alliance (and not to mention a party flush with wealth), accept the commissions of new armor and the silvering of weapons. They thank you for the orog plate that you brought, offering a discount of 200 gp off the price of the entire commission, since there is enough metal to reforge into serviceable armor.
You are able to gain 7 gold pieces for Boris' cart, paid in coins known as "Dragons" from Silverymoon.
The two hirelings that meet your job descriptions are Shiang, a retired griffon cavalier (Shou human male), and Aenil, an elven scout (wood elf male). They each require 5 gold pieces per day (10 altogether).
By this time, the sun is setting and the markets are closing. Do you wish to continue on to the pub called Danivarr's House? It is there that you are meant to give Darathra's token to Dral Thelev, the half-orc proprietor.
Derrikoth joyfully places an order for a full set of plate mail for himself and splint barding for Josephus. He'll also look around to see if there is any way to sell his old gear.
As he rides towards the pub, he reaches into his packsaddles for both Tamalin's scroll and Darathra's badge, placing them in his belt pouch. He speaks to the group in a much better mood than before, "Let's go see what we can get for these two items from this innkeeper. He was recommended twice over, so he must be something special."
Nirzeg is skeptical about the human; but, nevertheless hired on both man and elf for a 15 day period, paying the two advance and confirming they official start on the morrow. In the meantime, he bid them come doubly prepared to work hard from starting from then. Aside from a few 'minor' items, placing a similiar barding order for a new pair of warhorse (named Keezo and Winter Mist respectively), and relunctantly leaving behind favored blades to be silvered, the Githyanki is more than happy to head to the pub; expecting, if not hoping it doubled as an Inn as well. Though for Genieve sake, he does recommend a brief stop in some seeming lesser used side path to replace plates with any of her purchase of studded leather. While doing so he tries to show at least Astra the poorly aligned connections which, over time at least, inevitably become irreperably misaligned and dangerously close to endangering key components. "You can thank me later." He would whisper prior to finishing up.
Later on, a much more enthused directs warhorses pulled wagon on through the streets. "If he ain't, his ****'n wears better be. Because aside from that batch of sweet water I got, every stop so far's been nothin' but swill and hogshite."Nirzeg lets himself vent, though clearly remained otherwise in a fairly good mood.
(@away: Forgot to add selling of Boris' horse as well. Unless of course any of the other party members would've preferred to hold on, and I guess ride him from hereon?)

Boris the horse looks as aghast as a horse can look, at the prospect of being sold.
(You can sell any of your old equipment at half value while in Everlund...just make note of what you’re selling)
Shiang and Aenil, your new hirees, seem pleased to have secured employ. The elf is full of questions as to your next destination, whereas the human seems content to simply follow and is possessed of few words.
Nirzeg would have been at first steadfast about deflecting any such question, citing that apart of the groups 'mission' in town might alter plans. Remembering Aenil was a scout int he past however, he'd feign relunctance in revealing two of their eventual destinations: the Nether Mountain Range to seek out a frost giant of goodly repute, and Silverymoon. He left the encounter grinning inwardly, and wondering if the baited opportunity for more coin for the elf might save the group some future troubles...
As for Boris, even the lord of efficiency that was Nirzeg paused at the look. ".... Oh fine. But you better continue earning your keep, come what may." He warned the beast prior to any rearrangement mounted processions.

As you travel the streets while the markets are closing, you notice the city's many temples—those dedicated Helm, Mielikki, Corellon Larethia chief among them. Everlund also has many fine places to eat and rest, the oldest and largest being Danivarr’s House. This rambling inn was obviously converted from a mansion, and an old one at that. Here are there are enchanted lights, beautiful wooden moldings, and other fine decorations that resemble a family crests that looks somewhat familiar.
Now, the mansion-turned-inn appears to cater to a certain clientele: rough and tumble, yet not ruffians; the independently wealth, but not those of old money or merchants. Specifically, this inn is a place for adventurers.
The food and drink here are samples from around the continent, and the proprietor—a half-orc with a black eyepatch—sizes you up with his one good eye as soon as you enter.
"Welcome to Danivarr's House," the old half-orc says from behind the bar. "Staying for the night? We've got room for you, and stables for any beasts you have."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Does Derrikoth recognize the crest? History: 6)
Derrikoth walks up to the half-orc, reaching into his beltpouch and bringing out Tamalin's letter of recommendation as well as Darathra's badge.
"Dral Thelev? I am Derrikoth Toknal, agent of the Lord's Alliance. We have been on a long journey, and have been informed that you would be able to offer us assistance in achieving our goals."

Because aside from that batch of sweet water I got, every stop so far's been nothin' but swill and hogshite." Nirzeg lets himself vent, though clearly remained otherwise in a fairly good mood.

"Well, we're here to deliver something to you, but this does look like a very nice inn, so perhaps we might spend some time here."
