Bertrand. The name of Tobin mentioned by the server at first doesn't register. Then you recall your Master telling you about an infamous family of alchemists that, were chased out of Waterdeep.
Bertrand pauses to think on the name more, gripping his staff tightly as he recalled the words of his paternal grandfather who had taught him to be a wizard in his youth. As he thinks he begins to mutter to himself a bit. "Perhaps the manor is worth further investigation..."

Argus. The severing girl tells you that the Tobin Place is an old abandoned mansion about 4 miles north of town. She also, mentions people seeing ghostly lights at night along with the wails of the dammed
Hearing another loud slam of a mug, Maya looks over and lifts her mug to cheers in the direction of the one pounding back drinks. She’d take a swig of her cider and just sit back to watch the others’ exchanges in silence unless addressed.
“Gridolpho... If you want someone to join you in checking out the ol’ Tobin place... count me in. According to the server, its about 4 miles out of town to the north.” Argus turns to Bertand, “Are you up to it, too?”.. Argus looks around the room and says “Anyone else want to see what the rukus is at the ol’ Tobin place?”
Slamming her sixth mug down on the table, Kayla let's out a groggily burp/shout as she grips her greatswords' hilt. "Who *hic* in the nine hells do I have to *hic* get some peace and quiet!?" She lifts her greatsword over her head. "If it means I get to kill something, *hic*, count me in!”
A none hood figure walks in the room, he is a Minotaur, wearing Holly robes tided off at his waist with a mace and small hammer his hands are holding each other hidden in his sleeves and around his neck is a Holly symbol. His horns have been cut off some how, with bronze caps over the ends. He walks from table to table poking his head into each table and saying "Hello", looking from person to person at each table before moving to the next table. (He will make his way to the table everyone else is at.)
Maya would take the final swig of her cider, lift it up into the air as a jest before placing it back down. “Sounds like a party!” She’d nod to Argus before playfully swaying over to one side nudge Bertrand. “No backing out now!” She’d wink.
You discuss investigating Tobin Manor for awhile, but eventually the hour grows late, and you say your goodnights, promising to gather at Breakfast to continue the discussion. The night passes uneventfully. The next day you make your way to partake in the first meal of the day. As you eat you notice the locals seem on edge. The normally cheerful staff is subdued.
Gridolpho is outside the tavern. Pacing back and forth, occasionally taking a bite of a bacon sandwich. He's also anxiously flipping a dagger in his free hand.
Toonary is sitting with Argus, clueless to the fact that everyone is edgy, he is eating fairly messily, "food is good, why did the temple not serve food this good?" He talks broken and improper, with a deep almost Russianish accent.
Bertrand will quickly finish his meal, looking around as he notices that the villagers seem on edge. Normally he would think it had something to do with his appearance but so far none of them had yet to pay him any mind. "They seem as if something happened over night. Whatever it is I do not think it was a good thing..."

Argus asks the servers "What treasure do you speak of? Where is the old Tobin place? Who is Burgum?"
"Flattery will not work on me." Bertrand tells the halfling as he lowers his hood to show off his yellow eyes, horns and large fang like teeth.
