The creature howls as Glory's blade slashes it. In rage, it retaliates against Glory with a flurry of swings. Glory manages to deflect two of the blows but the last one strikes her in the chest.
Yuldra's arrow flies true and pierces the creatures skull, killing it. The creature roars again and drops to the ground. It's quite amazing what these cursed parasites can do.
I have decided to switch to Milestone leveling because I feel it fits this campaign better. Everyone levels up. Sanity heals fully upon level up but don't touch it. I will make necessary sanity changes once everyone has leveled.
Also friendly reminder: You may not take any levels in any class that casts spells using spell slots/pact slots.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yuldra looks out the window, gauging the distance to Slalutz port. Then she looks at Endurance to gauge how far she could throw them out the window, holding up a finger to find the wind. The numbers don't add up, regretably, so she tries gathering up any arrows she can, then takes another look at the body to try and figure out what it used to be before the fungus took hold.
Looking at the body, you realize the infection has gotten bad to the point where you're not sure what this creature used to be. It was either a man or an ape.
"A man or an ape. Was there ever a difference? The fungus knows the truth...."Yuldra muses. "Well... are we going to leave, or does anyone fancy trying to push this giant magic stone out the window to see what happens when it hits the ground?"
Perhaps we could push her in to the stone? Might dislodge it then? Or, we could just leave it alone and see if there's any kind of civilization left around here. His shoulders slump. Though that doesn't seem very likely at this point. To Slalutz? Varis heads back down the stairs.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
Alright so the general consensus seems to be head to Slalutz. You all exit the tower and head towards the port. It takes a few hours to reach there but the closer you get, the faster hope is extinguished. The city's buildings look like it has fallen to disrepair. Approaching closer, there appears to be an odd haze. When you get even closer, a bit of the haze is blown your way and you realize that it's not haze. It is in fact, dead skin. Luckily these things can't infect anyone so other than being disturbing, it is not a threat. Finally as you get off the mountain and on to lower ground, it becomes dishearteningly obvious that the city has fallen to the curse. It is either abandoned or the inhabitants have been infected. A cold sea wind blows from the east over the cold cracked ground. The place was probably more tropical but the lack of sunlight has made it cold, dry and depressing.
"This is like a 2nd round of drinks with a table of whores. We're 10-15 minutes away from entering, we're starting to see that it's really not a good idea and we're going to get infected, but we're probably going to do it anyway. If the coast has fallen, I doubt things get any better as we move towards the middle. Sooner or later we'll get hungry, and once we run out of Endurance we'll have to eat someone we care about. We should try to source a ship and get the **** out of here. Maybe if we cut down some of those trees we passed, we could even build a boat that rows itself?"

Everyone's turn.
"resilient bugger, isn't he?"
Assuming she's not provoking an AoO, yuldra circles and backs up to stay out of its line of sight .
Attack: 19 Damage: 16
Oops, that should be +15 not +10 (took the -5 penalty) so 20 dmg

Varis carefully approaches the thing and pokes it with his sword, seeing if the fungal things come out.

The fungal things don't come out.

Endurance looks at the map for the nearest place that might have answers. Like a large settlement or something

I mean... You're pretty close to Slalutz port.

“Before leaving, we should take a rest for an hour or more. After that, we should set out for what used to be the port.”

"Sounds good, Yuldra can push the magic stone out if she wants but it went badly for her last time"

Well. This is certainly cold, dry, and depressing. Any other ideas?

(To be clear, you guys haven't entered the city yet. You're like 10-15 minutes away from entering)
