As you walk down a side street in Waterdeep, you are approached by a young boy. His clothes are tattered and dirty, but his eyes are bright and glint with mischief. He stops directly in front of you and grins. "Be at the Drunken Elf tonight at dusk," he says. "Free dinner, drinks, and maybe more," he says, laughing gaily. He immediately turns away, then looks back over his shoulder. "Don't be late," he warns with another wide grin. You feel a touch at your hand, look down, seeing nothing, and when you raise your eyes back to the boy, he is gone.
((The Drunken Elf is a well-known tavern in Waterdeep, you'll have no problem finding it. From here, feel free to introduce your character.))
Torwen (rather tall for a dwarf- almost 5') is dressed in chain mail and his shield is adorned with a hammer and anvil-the symbol of Moradin. He carries a battle ax and has javelins strapped on his back. He will begin his search for the Drunken Elf tavern.
Well that seems rather intriguing and seeing as how I do not really have anything to do tonight I guess I will be attending the "party" tonight at The Drunken Elf.
Kierro, an Aasimar, wears a white tunic/robe, scale mail armor, a shield with the emblem of Pelor, and a blue scarf. He eagerly heads for the Drunken Elf.
Faywin, a wood elf, has flowing red hair, green eyes and carries a wooden shield with carvings of Fey creatures on it. He has a staff that appears to have small plants growing on it. Faywin tries to use his magic to protect nature and his fellow adventurers. He is a young elf of only 125. He heads off toward the Drunkin Elf
You find your way to the Drunken Elf. As you enter, you catch sight of the same young boy at a table near the back. You head towards him, threading your way through the crowded room. As you reach the table, you realize it’s occupied, but not by the boy. A smiling dwarf greets you. “Sit, sit,” he says excitedly, gesturing to the empty seats around the table. “I need your help and time is money, so I need to make this quick!”
A tall lanky humanoid wearing a silky light blue robe enters the bar and proceeds to look around the room. Upon seeing the young boy sitting at table, among a few others, he makes his way over and removes the hood of the rob to reveal a golden brown bald head. "Evening all, Victor here, seems like you are the one who summoned us, intriguing, I look forward to hearing your offer."
The dwarf smiles as you all sit. He nods at Faywin's words. "Indeed, indeed, it is a special job. My brothers and I have found something - something big," he whispers, looking around to make sure no one is watching you. "I need you all to escort my supplies to Phandelin. 10gp each to escort my wagon to Barthen's Provisions in Phandelin. Once you arrive and deliver the goods, Barthen will pay you." He looks around at each of you, his face turning serious.
"I'd take it myself of course, but time is of the essence. I need to get on the road and I can't wait until the wagon is ready tomorrow morning." He smiles again, his white teeth stark against his dark beard. "I've arranged for you to have dinner here and room for all of you for the night. The wagon will be ready at the south gate tomorrow at dawn." He looks towards the door, smiles, waves at someone, and then turns back to you.
"Don't worry, this should be an easy 10gp. See you in Phandelin!" He gets up from the table and heads towards the exit. He greets an older human man and they exit from the tavern. As they do, the innkeeper approaches your table with a serving girl. She places steaming bowls of stew in front of each of you and the innkeeper provides a large mug of ale each from his meaty hands.
He smiles jovially and says, "Gundren arranged for your lodging for the night, so eat hearty, my friends!"
Torwen:
You're not absolutely certain, but the human who left with Gundren looks like Sildar Hallwinter, a member of the Lord's Alliance. You've seen him before during your time in Waterdeep, and he is rumored to be a fair and kindly man.
Torwen looks to the other members of the party at the table and says: "Greetings friends my name is Torwen Thunderheart it looks like we will be working together for awhile. I know Gundren is a good man and I hope he is right about it being an easy 10 gold but, it is a long way to Phandelin.
I believe the man Gundren left with was Sildar Hallwinter I have seen him before, by all the stories I have heard he too is a good man and a member of The Lord's Alliance.
Faywin says "It is good to meet all of you I am ready to get some of this free grub and am excited to be on the road. I am ready to get out of this city and back out into the wild. I can't imagine what the big secret may be but I bet it has to do with shiny stuff from under the ground. Maybe they found a dragons lair. How cool would that be. Oh I would love to see a real dragon. Such magnificent creatures. I am so excited I am not sure if I will even be able to rest tonite."
”I’m Kierro Hawklight. It’s great to meet all of you. I look forward to the journey.” Kierro says, digging into the stew but leaving the ale untouched; he offers it to whoever wants it.
Abject horror spread across Victors face as Faywin speaks a bit to loudly, "A Dragon! I have no interest in meeting a dragon, do you know what they can do to a person." Shivering with the thought, "Hopefully it is some long lost temple or shrine that he has discovered and need researching, now that would be interesting."
"I do realize they are dangerous creatures. I just marvel at one of natures magnificent beings. They are for sure worthy of respect, but then again aren't all creatures worth of respect. I am not saying I want eat something or even kill a beast if I am attacked that too is the way of nature" Faywin says as he chews a hunk of meat from his stew.
Once you are done eating, the serving girl comes to clear away your plates and mugs. "You room is up the stairs, first door on the right. It's only one room for all of you, but it's our biggest room," she says with a smile. "Enjoy your evening," she says as she walks away.
((Feel free to continue RP through the rest of the evening and night if you wish.))
After Torwen is finished with his & Kierro's ale he will look to the party and say "I can go without seeing a dragon but,I do understand Faywin wanting to catch a glimpse of one. It's going to be a long journey to Phandelin so, I think I will turn in for the night. You gentlemen have a good evening."

“Of course I’ll help. What seems to be the problem?” Kierro asks.
His voice is somewhat soft but still carries well.
