In terms of game mechanics at the starting point of 5th lvl you will have access to 1 second lvl spell, 3 first level spells, and infinite cantrips per day. The number of spells known are 10.
1) Are you referring to number of spells known or number of spell slots?
2) Are these in addition to the number of spells known (or slots, depending on the answer to #1) that we would get from our individual classes or are these numbers replacing what we would normally have?
3) If it's in addition to what's granted by our class, are these the spells that need to be shaped/re-skinned to fit our rolled luxin color?
1) you get an additional 10 spells known. These spells can be from any class. 1 2nd level slot, 3 1st level slots and the cantrips. Yes reskin/flavor these new spells to fit your color.

Cool. +10 spells from any list. That's awesome.
It sounds like the slots are replacing our usual number of slots, correct? For example, I'm a level 5 druid and would normally have 4 level 1, 3 level 2, and 2 level 3 spell slots. In this system, do we all have only the slots you've listed regardless of class? So a fighter has the same number or spell slots as a wizard? Or are the slots you're describing in addition to the class-associated slots as well?

nope you get all your normal class slots for your level PLUS the 10 color slots
In addition to Shadow's questions... using your extra spells you provided. Could we give outselves 8 additional cantrips and one 2nd level spell and one 3rd level spell if we wanted?

yes you can, these are yours go crazy. This is a crazy magical world. The only real limitation for these color spells is that there MUST be a light source for you to be able to draft (cast) your spells
It sounds like you get 10 spells... any spells you want, but you only get a 2nd level spell slot and a 3rd level spell slot.. so unless you stock up on cantrips... you will only be using your special LIGHT powered spells 2 times every long rest*. So if you are a fighter that would normally get no spells... contratulations! you get 10 spells and two total spell slots. If you are a wizard or artificer or whatever... congrats! you got 10 more in addition to what you already have. The key is that your FOCUS for casting those spells is your light source... and you have to flavor them around the type of Light color person you are. So for my RED Alchamist Artificer... I will be chucking Molotov cocktail / grenade type potions to simulate most of my offensive spells when using my LIGHT.
IF you make sure that homebrew is allowed for the campaign... it might make it so that we can create our own magic items that contain our LIGHT spells and then that way they show up on our list. I could just make a ring called (Phil's red light spells) and it grants me my 10 spells or whatever and that way I have them visible.

ok sorry, this is confusing I know and i'm probably not doing a good job explaining it. you know 10 extra spells ontop of your class spells. these can be all 10 2nd level spells if you want but you only get 1 2nd level slot and 3 1st level slots a day. You just need to figure out how to pick the spells you want to fit those. You can have 10 extra known cantrips and just go ham.
and the rest of your comment is spot on correct just flavor it to your color.

good question no material needed for these new spells all you will need is a light source.
Can we use continual flame or my atrificer tinkering ability to create light as a light source?

Cool my color matches my character personality pretty well, lucky.
I also would like to know the limit on cantrips.
As for adding spells we might not be able to do so in the spell section and may need to just keep track in notes.
I am assuming recover slots after a long rest.
all 10 can be cantrips if you want
yes you may just need to keep tract of your color spells yourself
yes regain after a long rest.

you will have to keep track of your color spells yourself. There isn't a good way to add these since this is a crazy homebrew thing
