Benagol removes his helmet, scraps his head, clearly in discomfort and clearly confused.
So what do think are our next moves? and, is this Obsidian Plain far?
And in general, you know, if your father was so obsessed with this HEART, He must have told you or written in the journal the..source of this obsession, was he searching for something in particular apart from great treasures?! I mean, he is wealthy enough, isn't he?
And did he mention any foe or any threat or anyone that might...intefere...connected with this quest?!
"How far is this island from here then?" Rubin asks as he considers their next move. He has no issues taking the daughter along, and thinks it a better option than waiting for her to write it all down again.
Jannell responses softly. "The Obsidian Plain is just south of the Desolation of Ditimaya. I assume you all have passage back to the mainland? From there, we should head to Ugash. It is a small outlander city, the last civilization before entering the dangerous wasteland that is Desolation of Ditimaya. We call it the DoD. This will not be an easy journey, and we may run into some trouble in the DoD. I am not help in a fight, as I am a pacifist, but I have my wits and the knowledge of what my father's journal holds to help you get to the Well of Secrets. There, you will be able to use that medallion to find where Hearth is located."
She continues, responding to Benagol's questions on her father and Hearth. "Like I said, my father become obsessed with a culture, a location, or being, or some artifact that he read or heard from. He stays obsessed until he "solves the mystery!"...it has been close to getting him killed in the past, and has........nevermind that. It looks like he has gotten over his head with this obsession with Hearth, and he is not the only one looking for it's secrets. Wealth was not a factor for him, those this Hearth has great treasures, it spoke of an ancient battle between gods unheard of. This was the bulk of his research, and what is being contained in the temple, and why. He did not mention any foes, just that he wanted me to keep the journal safe. He might have had suspicions if he was driven to send me the journal."
She looks at all of you and asks if you are ready to depart. She goes into one of the rooms in the temple and grabs her satchel. She travels lightly.

As you turn to leave and begin to exit the temple to gather your footwear, the friendly bearded monk that initially greeted is walking towards the temple holding his abdomen. Blood pours down his robes, splattering the stone ground by his feet. With tears in his eyes, he tries to speak, but no words come—he collapses, dead. Just behind him, you see a group of cloaked and heavily armed figures.
The leader of the mob, a woman with three scars across her face like claw-marks, hisses like an angry cat when she sees you. "Take the girl. Burn the temple. Leave no survivors." The woman says, first staring at Jannell...and then her amber eyes gaze upon the rest of you. She begins to shift and turn into a similar creature you encountered at Arrows Oddities. The werejaguar is larger and more bulked out than the previous, and you can still see the three scars across the werejaguar's face. Let's roll for initiative!
Cloaks 3/4 draw their swords and start to advance on the party, one attacks Gerry the other Rubin. Cloak 3: Attack: 11 Damage: 5 Cloak 4: Attack: 23 Damage: 8
Rubin, you're up. Followed by Gerry.

Gerry stares blankly in shock, then seems to remember himself. He begins chanting under his breath, and a holy aura surrounds him, Benagol and Rubin, as well as his own sword.
(Bless on himself, Benagol and Rubin, Sacred Weapon on himself (assuming we had a long rest on the ship after the encounter))
