The town of Phandalin stays silent at the bottom of the valley. There are a few people walking among the forty-odd buildings, mostly miners going back to their homes after a hard days work. Walking around the place you notice a mix of races, mostly dwarves and humans. There are a few buildings of notice:
Stonehill inn: has a few rooms for rent and hot meals for weary travelers. Barthen's provisions: general store for goods and supplies. Lionshield Coster: with a wooden shileld with a blue lion hanging like a banner over the door, the weapons and armor shop is easily recognizable. Miner's Exchange: where miners come to have their ores weighted and traded. Shrine of Luck: the only temple in town, there is noone attending it at the moment. Townmaster's hall: with a bell tower at the back, used only in emergencies, has a job board with a few notices posted on it.

Xarrothfelt weary after the long trip to Phandelin. But he had made it with little trouble, thankfully.
A dragonborn towers over the usual races easily. His garb carries the usual strange, intricate details with small dangling metal coins on the trimming and loose, coloured string on wrists and ankles; clear indicators of dragonborn design. The looser cloth covers the practical travelling clothes, still of dragonborn design like the rest. In the clothes, a golden dragon is within. His scales are still bright, and catch the light implying youth. The odd scale can be seen in a silver colour; same sheen, not looking out of place.
While there was a sense of ease, he didn't let it sink too deeply as his eyes scanned the skies before heading into the Stonehill Inn. His quick to order a drink and does his best to read the room; is everyone away of the winged danger that looms too far...?
Rhok walks into town, enjoying the trip through the forest, however his coin purse is feeling light. Thirsty, he looks for a place to wet this throat and finds the Stonehill Inn. He opens the door to head into the tavern, pauses by the entrance for a second to look over the patrons, and find a empty seat near a corner, and orders an ale
Lothlién arrives after a somewhat calm travel. He was heading to the Townmaster's hall to look for jobs, but stopped quite suddenly and turned back. The Sun is setting, maybe it's time to have the first drink in a long time and find a good bed to rest on. Tomorrow should be as good as any other day to look for a job.
With that in mind, he moves his skinny body into the Stonehill Inn, calmly ordering an ale, and asking about the room's prices.
Lia is sitting at a table in the Stone Hill Inn. She has silver-white hair, and coppery skin. The slight points of her ears denotes her as a half-elf. She got to town just that afternoon, and came in to get a room at the inn first thing. With the room taken care of, she is now seated in the common room, nursing an ale as she tries to decide what to do next. She has gotten use to the stairs as those around keep glancing towards her, the more than average looks she has getting attention.

The owner, Toblen Stonehill, quickly pours a beer for you and settles it with a piece of bread. "We don't see many of your kind around here" the inkeeper is a short human with a broad smile on his face "some people claim that a dragon flies over the mountais west of here, as big as an elephnat and white as snow". He looks like he could talk long about the subject, but other patrons are calling his name.

The tabern is half full when you enter. People are sitting in small groups talking to each other about their findings.

"Hello, traveler" Toblen greets you while setting a mug in front of you. "A bed for the night and hot dinner to go with it will cost you 6 silver pieces".

The people look at you, trying not to be caught staring. One of them approaches "hey, I'm sure I would remember seeing a face as pretty as your around here" the dark haired human seems confident and used to get things going his way "my name is Darvin. If you are interested in a good time, we could go to Falcon's hunting lodge. He has the best accomodations in Neverwinter wood, could take us hunting in the woods and has the best tales you can hear around."
"I will keep that in mind." Lia says with a soft smile for the man. "You seem to be fairly important around here, can you tell me what the latest news is, and what sort of issues are currently being of importance?" She nods to the chair at her table. "A man as important as you will probably know all sorts of things about what is going on around here, right?"
Rhok notices the other newcomers and sizes them up.....interesting lot....he attempts to overhear any rumblings about the dragon, and if any bounties have been placed on it.

"I've been around for a while" his face betrays him, he didn't expect the conversation to last this much "rumor has it that orcs are coming down from the mountains, but I'm sure that's just miners trying to get a few days off while someone investigates". While you listen to him, he goes on and on about his achievements in another places, which always end with him saving the day from the incompetence of his companions.
Drink in hand, sitting by the counter, he turns around to try and spot anyone who doesn't look like the common folk of the town.

You notice a man acting in a creepy maner talking to a silver haired half elf. Her clothes look different from most people around and you wonder why she is still listening to him. You also recognize the dragonborn talking to the owner as a newcomer. Most people are dressed as miners or farmers, there is one human that stands out among them, sitting by himself and listening to other tables.

The barmaid quotes the room at 5 silver pieces, 6 if you want to add a hot meal too. She doesn't know if there is a bounty on the dragon, but is sure that townmaster Harbin would know about that. While she hasn't been working here that long, she recalls a few travelers come from time to time, and points out Xarroth as a newcomer, the dragonborn is hard to miss. You notice that most tables are talking about a dragon, with people loudly calling others liars for spreading fear while a few quietly tell about a shadow looming over the highest clouds.
"Hmm, a person with wisdom would not claim coincidence. What wines you have? After you have a look, perhaps you can tell me what you know or perhaps anyone who's seen the being?"Xarrothleans in on the bar, a warming smile on his face.
"Ah, I see..." Lia says after listening for a bit. "Have you seen the dragon everyone is talking about?" She pushes some of her silvery hair behind an ear, her eyes staying on the young man, giving him her full attention.

Rhok "Townmaster Harbin eh? I assume I can find him in the town hall.... Guessing the building with the bell tower? Would you say they're closed for the day at this point? I think I'll take you up on the room and a hot meal" Slides her a gold piece " you can keep the rest"
Looks towards the Dragonborn, tries to get a read on him
Noticing another half-elf, Lothlién tries to read her, scatching his short stubble beard. Is she uncomfortable with the creepy guy? Does it look like she can take care of herself?

Toblen finishes serving other patrons and comes back for conversation. "Wine, I know that I some bottles from Neverwinter at hand and a few from Waterdeep in storage if you like sometihng fancier. Most people here drink beer" he starts cleaning a few mugs with a dishrag while he talks. "Now that you mention it, I don't recall anyone in particular that claims to have seen the dragin themselves. Darvin talks like he actually believes that he could take down a dragon, but his appearance betrays him "I can tell you that the beast was white, and flew away from me as soon as it saw me"

The barmaid is grateful at your generous tip. She confirms that the townmasters building is the one with the belltower and that the best time to find him would be early morning. Then goes to take someone elses order. The dragonborn looks engaged in conversation with the inkeeper.
OOC: Xarroth can tell how much they can read from him.

She looks confident and seems to be leading him on.
OOC: Lia can add more about how the conversation looks like.
Lia is sitting relaxed and looking interested in what the young man is saying.
"That is as it may be." Lia tells the young man with a nod. She sits forward then, holding the young man's eyes. "I think you are a good enough sort, and that you wanted to talk to a pretty girl. I love to talk, so wouldn't mind it if you wanted to sit here and chat about dragons, orcs, or just about anything else. I can tell you that it will go no further than talking. If you are ok with that, then please sit down and we'll order a couple drinks and have some good times talking to each other about who knows what. If you just wanted the other, then I have to say I am sorry and that I don't go past talking until I know the other person a lot better."

Darvin looks a bit taken aback by your bluntness, and decides to excuse himself after paying for your drink "until we know each other better then, my lady".
The dragonborn is clearly of the gold variety, but some scales seem off colour. He's well dressed for travel, and curious for some reason...
"How about the finer bottles of Waterdeep? Something tells me this isn't your mundane evening." While paying the price for glass of wine, he asks, "Ah, I see. It isn't too close yet, excellent. Townmaster Harbin? Noted, very good. I will need a room, of prime quality for the night as I will see the Townmaster in the morning."
