Basho nods his thanks to Salgrim. 'I can struggle to frame things as eloquently. Thank you. We're a little more plain spoken where I come from, but I think you speak truly. We may well become fierce opponents, but we won't necessarily work well as a disciplined force.'
As they become aware of the barricade ahead, Basho starts to look around, seeing if it's a distraction from the real threat.

Takayano Akome
The Wolf-Tengu leaves a hand on his greatword's hilt, unaware of the situation of why their caravan had stopped, yet vigilant. His keen eyes with wolf-like perception are able to find the barricade, to which he leave himself to stay within the carriage until a neccesity is in order. During which, architecture not being his strong-suit, he will still attempt to see what the barricade is made of, perhaps studying its material and how it could perhaps prove to be useful if they have to resort to violence, which he cannot be sure if he would be any help in the first place.
He clears his thoughts for the upcoming moments, bracing himself for the worst-case scenario, yet hoping for a solution without blood-shed to be met. He shakes in place, but he wishes not to bring another outburst to inconvenience the people around them especially at this point in time. They have to be prepared, and so does Akome and his companions, which he thinks of.

Intelligence(?) to see the capabilities and strength of the barricade's materials: 12
You see that it's made of light materials (ex: wood)
Akome's seat in the carriage impedes his ability to deduce any other than an obvious use of wood, bearing it in mind that it may be susceptible to fire. At this point, Akome waits patiently for this leader figure of theirs to meet fates with them. He is not sure if he will be able to react in time if anything goes wrong, in which he trusts his companions to keep their eyes open. Akome realizes his unnecessary anxiousness, allowing himself a moment of retroactive breathing, hoping for none of fate to tip in the wrong scale.
After this latest spell inside the carriage as as they pause a distance away from the barricade, Basho opens the door and steps out, checking to see if the Viscountess wishes to follow. 'Are we parlaying, or are we deploying firmer tactics..?' he asks, a swirl of wind rippling around him and into the carriage.
Salgim grins at Basho's question but says nothing, the barricade now calling his full attention. He exits the carriages opposite side door Hands free, but weapons strapped to his body in one manner or another. Using the carriages exterior fixtures, he pulls himself up on to the top of the rear carriage tire before calling to Akome.
"Akome! Come and get a better look! We have been cooped up, and Salgim predicts that we are like to be again soon!" He slaps the hand he's not gripping on with, against the side of the carriage playfully, before looking for any potential threats around them.

Viscountess Haru: "Let us just try negotiating for now"
She puts a hand out from the window next to where she was seated, signaling one of the nearby guards to relay to one of the scouts to try and do so.
Basho accompanies the scout - he’s feeling restless after the journey and is keen to be moving. He stays a step or two behind, making it clear to both the scout, and the approaching ‘bandit’ that he’s just there for backup. He keeps his eyes peeled for any sign of treachery.

Salgim tries to make himself as tall as he can by standing up on his tiptoes, atop the wheel, leaning fully onto the roof of the carriage to try and get a better look at the approaching 'traitor.

As the guard quickly made his way to one of the scouts that was located at the front of the caravan, one of them was quick to react to an arrow that was fired from a direction that you couldn't really locate from your position, though it was obvious that it wasn't one of the bandits due to how difficult it was to hide somewhere considering the area you were now in wasn't as lush of a forest as the one that was near the previous territory.
It was more like an area that had less trees, and the foliage was not all that tall to hide in.

The "trator" was a man in his early twenties, you see that he was only wearing leather armor on top of his clothing, with a dagger that was sheathed, attached to his waist...
Clearly telling you that he wasn not a person of the rich, but just of a asassin clan.

(OOC: Can Basho see what the target of the arrow was? Attacking us, or the people barricading the road?)
While he’s looking for the source of the arrow, Basho casts Gust to keep the air moving around him and the scout, to make it harder to hit them with an arrow. Based on his knowledge of air movement, he’d like to to try and backtrack, based on how the arrow has landed, to see if he can determine anything about the source?

You find that the source was somewhere in the east, from a rundown cottage about a few meters from the caravan.

Salgim's head snaps in Basho's direction when he hears his companions warning. Then he knocks on the carriage two more times, to express haste to Akome still inside. Before shifting his weight and dropping down from the carriage wheel, down to the ground below.
When he lands, Salgim has shifted to his hybrid form, and is searching the skies around them for any fellow winged creatures.
Roll to detect/find/call out to any birds: 11 ((+3 if investigation, +4 if perception or animal handling, +5 if nature))
If there are any birds within earshot Salgim will call out to them with Beast Tongue, "Hey my friend! What do you see over by the 'two-feets' cave nest? Right over there!" And point in the direction of the cabin.
If no birds, then He'll approach Basho cautiously, on alert for some sort of ambush. Their reaction to the arrow leads Salgim to believe that they had no hand in this event. But he'd been surprised once or twice in his life, and would leave nothing to chance. His hands itched to grab for a weapon, but for now he only used his words.
"Salgim is wondering, why only one arrow? A warning? Or a sorry attempt at igniting a possible powder keg?" He looks between the two groups representatives pointedly.
Akome winces from the unseen arrow, now taking the initiative of going down from the carriage as Salgim motions him to come down. "What's going on? Cottage archer?" he replies simply without acknowledging much of the information, though he eyes now cautiously around the open parameter, before returning sight to "traitors" ahead. From there his face is of confusion, left without any words to leave his mouth; an adrenaline starts to creep through his sense of perception, to which he does not stop to continously be sure to the party and the scouts that no other stray arrows come unsuspected.

You could barely see what was going on. But as far as you can tell, there's obviously no sign of the traitors letting you through at the moment.
