In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days’ travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found “something big,” and that he’d pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen’s Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to “take care of business.”
"Now, I just hope that the lot of ye' can get along!!"
Gundren:
You’ve spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you’ve just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You’ve encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.

Triboar Trail:
At this point, you can all introduce your characters to one another, maybe describe your character, perhaps mention how you know Gundren, etc.
We will also need a marching order and how exactly you are travelling. At least one character must be driving the wagon. Two oxen are pulling the wagon, and it takes at least one person to steer them. The wagon is covered with a tarp so you can't see what it's contents are.
Willifred the rock gnome will sit on the wagon as he would otherwise have trouble keeping up with the others, about twice his size. He wears a grey/brown almost lab coat looking cloak over some light armor. On his head he has protection goggles keeping his chewy, scruffy hair from hanging into his face. On his right hand he wears a metal gauntlet with wires connecting some of the individual pieces. Over his coat he wears multible belts, one around his wais and one over each shoulder with various flasks, viols and leather pockets on them.
A pale blue elf in leather armor that looks like it has served her will for years. Her long black hair is pulled back into a braid as to not hinder the sight of her gold-specked blue eyes. She has 2 short swords sheathed on both sides of her hips and a long bow and arrows across her back like she is ready for any type of battle or trouble ahead. As she leads the front of the group, she speaks to the rest of the group
"Since we will be on this journey together, best to know at least a little about each other. I am Taraven. Gundren was able to pull me from my usual work to help with this job. I know he has his warrior friend but he said it wouldn't help to have a little more protection for these supplies and help guide our travels. If you have my back, I will have all of yours."
Great to make your aquaintance! Im Willifred, but you can call me Willi. Or Fred, whichever you prefer. Gundren has been a friend for quite some time, so im doing this more as an act of friendship, hoping he will return the favour in the future.
A very young-looking human with wavy, honey-colored hair walks to the left of the cart. He sports a knee-length light gray cloak with simple breeches and an old rucksack. His hazel eyes are down-turned and droopy, but he keeps his hands in his cloak, revealing no personal possessions. He nods to Willifred and Taraven. "Nice to be working with you all, my name's Naltic. I'm not too familiar with Gundren himself, but he's a friend of a friend, so I somehow got roped into this as well. I'm not complaining, though. It's a good change of pace from Waterdeep, not to mention we get paid." He keeps looking back to the cart itself before asking "Does anyone know what we're transporting anyways?" in an attempt to stir up conversation.
"Nice to meet you Willi and Naltic. As far as what is in this cart, I am not quite sure. Must be either important or expensive if Gundren hired all of us."
Taking a look behind her, Taraven notice one other person in the party, "And who are you fellow traveller?"
A mysterious looking Tiefling looming strangely behind the others cautiously approaches the group. She has dark hair and gruesome appearing horns penetrating from her skull and a long tail that sways behind her, almost like a scared animal about to run away. She is beautiful but evil appearing. "Good morning. I am Zene" she says. "I come here today out of a familial duty. My family has known Gundren for many years. I am not the 'hired help'" she says almost offended by the presumption that she has been hired. "I am not sure what the purpose of this journey is either, but I will do my best to assist where I can".
Willifred is sitting comfortably on the wagon, his smaller body nestling nicely into a softer spot at the front of the wagon. He would have the oxen reigns in hand, coaxing the two oxen as they slowly pull the wagon over the bumpy but clear Triboar Trail. These beasts have made this trip likely hundreds of times, so they don't need coaxing, although need someone to at least hold the reigns.
Taraven leads the group, say a few feet in front of the wagon. Fitting for an elf who seems to be very comfortable in the woods. We have the young man Naltic walking with the wagon on the left side, and the mysterious Tiefling Zene brings up the rear. You all seem to be quite physically close to each other, and seem to be enjoying each others company as the wagon plods on.
You’ve been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day. As you come around a bend, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. Each has several black-feathered arrows sticking out of it. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment and dense thickets on either side.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As soon as Willifred sees the dead horses he stops the oxen imediatly. Will anyone help me drag them of the road? Willifred walk up to the corpses, regardless if he gets assisted or not. There he will inspect the horses and arrows to gather more information and then tries to drag them off the path. He guides himself on both checks Investigation: 18 + 1 Athletics: 9 + 2 I really would appreciate some help here! they are about ten times my own weight!

“Woah, woah, woah, Willi! Don’t approach them yet. We don’t know if that’s a trap. There could be people waiting to ambush us while we’re occupied with dragging the horses.”
Naltic scans the brush around the horses looking for anyone hiding there. Perception13
I agree with Naltic! This could definitely be a trap. Perhaps we could see if there are any other creatures in the woods here that witnessed this horrible event!
Zene veers off into the woods nearby to see if any animals are hiding.

Well do you want to take the cart through the trees? You want to continue, then we got to get them out ta way
Naltic, you don't seem to see anything in the brush from your location.
I will let this play out a bit more... let's see what the others do, as well as if Willi ends up in fact approaching the horses.
"Let me take a look. I may be able to see if a trail was left."
Taraven will look for any tracks of the creatures or people that killed the horses and try to see how long ago they passed through the area

Zene veers off into the woods nearby to see if any animals are hiding.
Zene, please roll a Perception check to see if you can notice any animals around.
Taravan and Willi - please confirm if you will in fact move forward to investigate immediately, or wait on Naltic and Zene.
Zene Perception: 8
Tarven will move very carefully toward the horses.
Zene, you can see a rabbit nestled in the brush, skiddishly watching you all, twitching its nose rapidly, like a rabbit would do.
