There is a stretching, sickly wet and extremely aggressive repeated smacks against the floor and pulling. Finally after agonizing moments the thing tears free, another set of brief wet stretching then silence.
...
Scratching. Bone grinding against bone and then against stone. Finely it crunches into other ground, and moments later a heavy dragging is heard.
...
The hunter has not moved from the lights edge, looking out. He's looking for something, aware of the sounds but unconcerned.
...
These sleeping quarters are larger than what you can see. The longer you are here, the more you become aware that you are only viewing the first room in a connected hallway of similar chambers.
Marchosias silently moves up next to the Hunter, his pulse pounding in his ears. This was it. He levels his crossbow towards the noise, waiting for some abyssal abomination to come tearing towards him.

Before the door is kicked open Grahl will take his axe from his back and tilt his neck from left to right loosening muscles.
As the door flies open and they are open adrenaline rushes through Grahls body, the excitement of battle taking over. He moves carefully stepping into the room (stealth 12)
Wielding his axe with both hands in front of him he moves into the dark side of the room only stopping at the scratching sounds trying to see (with darkvision) if he can see anything resembling a creature in this room or trying to hear if the sound is coming from the next room. (perception 18)
Grahl's massive form enters the doorway with all the speed and grace of a tip toeing elephant. He does manage to stay silent, but his back and just overall huge body can't stop making "moving through space" noises like lifting one foot in front of the other.
Fortunately, he's more perceptive than deceptive, and he identifies that sound as chewing. Specifically, chewing of meat than is extremely tough, maybe even literal leather. There is also a smell of rot. Weeks, maybe even years, have distilled whatever less hardy consumables around into moldy pastes and varying stages of alcohol. Whatever meat was here, may it be refrigerated deer or the miners themselves, has disappeared but that smell of fouled keeping remains.
(( Hey, the other human of the party would NOT object! ))
Onyx just barely crept through the doorway, keeping his distance from the front with both his quarterstaff and his right hand raised. The deep purple glow from his right hand indicated he was readying his magic, although it wasn't enough to help him actually see a target just yet. With occasional glances behind, he exercised extraordinary restraint in not asking questions as he waited for the inevitable.

(Would Grahl be able to determine if the sound is coming from something in the current room? Or cant he tell)
(Just realised that I hadn't rolled stealth for Arbon sneaking in. So I probably should do that, even though it's probably gonna be bad at disadvantage)
Arbon sees Gruhl sneaking in and follows suit. His armour though, is not conducive to a stealthy approach. He stops next to Gruhl, looks at the half-orc and shrugs with a sheepish look on his face.
With everyone inside the room, the hunter moves a step closer into the darkness. He enters the second room and steps comptely out of the light. A few moments later and you hear a heavy thud on the floor followed by rolling. A scream!
A gurgled, torn throat, liquid squelshing bloody scream that ends in a horrible ripping.
You hear the harsh tearing and ripping again followed by a sickly odor. A bloody dark grey metal ball rolls out of the doorway into the light.
The room in total is 45 feet. The light reaches about 10-15 in, then gives shadowed vision to about 30-40. The last 10 or so feet are almost completely dark, those with dark vision can actually see that this room connects to another and about 5 feet through the pitch black doorway.
There isn't anything there, but its clearly a doorway.
Marchosias takes the lead, as nobody else seems willing to approach. Stepping to the side of the doorway, he lights a torch. He draws his slender blade before lobbing the torch into the next room.

Seeing Marchosias move forward and light a torch, Arbon casts Light on his mace and moves towards the doorway, holding his shield up to be ready for whatever might come out of the room.
Seeing the ball roll out of the room it catches Grahls attention. The sounds and sight of the blood bring him to a past battle in his mind standing as if daydreaming for a moment staring at the blood. As a moment passes the others are taking action as a response. Adrenaline filling Grahls body again as he snaps out of his thoughts as his anger takes over.
He grips his axe firmly and turns as Marchosias throws the torch. Grahl runs in behind it acting fully on his instincts as many creatures of the dark would be startled or blinded by bright light. While taking his first few steps in behind him Arbon will be lighting the hall with his spell. Shouting his battle cry FOR GRUUMMSH!! If a creature in the room would not be looking at the torch he would see a large half orc charging in with a bright light of the hall behind him.
Grahl looks for any creature he can smash his axe in when he enters the room.
(sorry guys Grahls not the waiting type, he attacks when he wants not when his enemies choose :))
With the torch and light burning brightly throughout the room, you can see that the hunter had pegged a demon in one of its eyes with a heavy iron ball. Steam rises from the fiends face and you can see that its horrible existence continues only to chew the pulp of something clearly already digested numerous times. Foul odor and rotting meat surround the entire room, and the hunter is standing at the back grabbing his hand.
Approximate distances and mapping. The rooms are 45 feet each, The torch is represented by the orange\red and illuminates the entire room alongside the light spell (not shown)

(The room you are currently in is connected in a long line to several others just like it. The sound is coming from one of those connected rooms.)

Stealth: 5
(Haha, welp!)
Arbon sees Gruhl sneaking in and follows suit. His armour though, is not conducive to a stealthy approach. He stops next to Gruhl, looks at the half-orc and shrugs with a sheepish look on his face.
Chazrael follows suit as well, drawing his bow and knocking an arrow.

(See Grahl may be large but hes not wearing armor so hes most likely more silent than the armor guys :) )

"CAN ANYONE SEE WHAT'S GOING ON?!" yelled Onyx, squinting futilely at the doorway to the second room.
(( @DM: How far away is the second room? Would anyone's darkvision be able to see in there? ))
